This is exactly what I was looking for! I’m making a stained glass frame as a wedding gift & needed some tips on how to attach the photo to the frame. Thanks!
The metal is zinc and that frame uses 1/4" outer bar and 1/8" zinc bar. They are easily soldered, there is patina that works on zinc but it doesn't work well, if you want to patina zinc, you may want to tin it so the solder will take the patina well.
That's A Jarmac saw, but we get them from Harbor Freight under the name Mity-Mite and we have to order them on line. Then we replace the saw with a 4" Jarmac replacement blade that we buy from Amazon. They cost from 10 to 15 each
I really wanted to see how you attached the bracket on the back. I tried brass u-came and it either wouldn’t attach or I was doing it wrong! Any reason that brass wouldn’t work?
The only thing I can think of is that the metal might be lacquered, but that would be rare. Brass usually solders as easily as zinc. Try using some steel wool on the brass to see if that helps the solder to stick.
If you watch all our videos you'll have a good basic understanding. We also have online courses you can find at www.gsg-art.com/stained-glass-classes.html

I'm surprised you still have ten fingers.
Never had any problem, but the Jarmac type saw can cut right down to the bone. My son could tell you a story.
