He proved that her beliefs about men weren't necessarily true. This isn't a romance manga, so it's not too surprising that the author didn't bother to confirm anything. In this case though I don't think anything NEEDS to be confirmed for the reader to come to a natural conclusion. The incredible connection the two have is pretty clear.
