- Thoughts on if Mihawk had a master that taught him the way of the sword or if he taught himself how to wield Yoru? Could this person have been Silvers Rayleigh?

Agreed that Mihawk secretly enjoyed being Zoro's sensei.
Tekking is honestly one of the most hardworking UA-camrs i have ever seen. i mean the guy legit uploads almost daily yet he's been doing UA-cam for years
And isn't he doing all this during a move now??
AND makes good content
@@perkinsat Yes.
@@perkinsat This one is probably pre-recorded ?
@@opejyr777 he said in the video, October 2nd this is recorded
Mihawk's master was probably defeated by stairs like all great swordsmen, which is why we only see him in the ground floor in his mansion.
He uses elevator
Fall down D. Stairs sama
I see you watched Grand Line Review’s video from earlier today
He just jumps past them.
stairs undefeated
Oda could make a whole series based on the events before Luffy, and we’d be all for it!
i would watch it
That’s what I wish the live action netflix show was, a spin-off about different characters would be awesome
@@monkeydgarp9663 hell no
if odas up for it that would make a great sequel
The pre Luffy era is just as if not more interesting than current era
Mihawk Day is such a banger holiday so glad I get to celebrate with so many
had no clue it existed
Mihawk deserves a backstory at least a few chapters hyping his past up and showing how he got the black blade
maybe we will in shanks' arc
He will probably have that flashback when he fights zoro and like before his defeat he will have a flashback of how he became the best
@@gurkeeratsinghgarrysangha2433 what’s the likelihood we even get that Oda is so unpredictable with what he shows us
@@ryxxe8504 I could picture how beautiful that moment will be like all his major life events flashing right before his eyes as he is defeated by his pupil Zoro
And how an upcoming pirate casually made him a sparring partner
Despite being introduced so early in the series, there is still so much we don’t know about Dracule Mihawk. Where he was born, what style he trained in, whether Yoru is a cursed blade or not (resulting in his signature yellow eyes), who his barber is (Seriously that mustache, beard, and sideburn combo is sharp enough to cut its own merit)
Can’t wait to learn more about him
Agreed I feel like he is going to get his just due for sure. BAckstory is much needed
agree
Isn't it obvious he's trained in one sword style? He had these eyes as a kid. They aren't the result of a curse
@J K no he isn't.
@@imnotaclown9603
Ah yes there's only one single sword style. Definitely not multiple single sword styles. So obvious duhhhhhh
I feel like Yoru would stay with Mihawk forever. Even when he dies, the sword would act as a gravemarker. I just don't see him giving away Yoru to anyone, and nor do I see Zoro wielding it.
like whitebeards murakumogiri
That works for me, Zoro is more comfortable with his three swords and this is a weapon that seems to suit Mihawk the best.
yeah, imagine Zoro holding a giant sword in his mouth, wouldn't fit
I think it was stated that yoru is perfect for Mihawk and he is the only one that can properly wield it
"I'm just drunk enough to teach you the way of the sword" is my new Rayleigh headcannon mood to training people
Gold.
Gol D.
Baseless comment of a kid
Oh yeah. Tekking really didn't forget his yearly Mihawk day. Great respect to this guy
Mihawk didn't have a master he was already a master swordsmen in the womb
Now I’m picturing Mihawk with yoru in the womb
He performed the C-sec himself
I don't think that that's the case for Mihawk, but what about Roger and Rayleigh? Who could've trained them? They might actually not have had a swordmaster and trained on their journey instead.
@@andrebrito2523 this is what I came here for
Maybe the reason Mihawk wanders on the coffin boat is that his sense of direction really is just bad and he has no idea how to get back to his castle.
Oh great. Like master like student. Hahahahaha.
But...he's at his castle.
So when he's at marineford how did he get back to his castle? Did the marines just give him a ride back to his castle? 😆
@@beeframebox4859 Hahaha, maybe like reverie there's an escort.
My guess is that Mihawk is in the top 3 strongest people in the series.
I know Oda stated that Kaido wins in a one v one, but the fact that we haven’t seen Mihawk or Shanks fight seriously yet is very telling.
i will always say tekking deserves 10 mil subs and should do a private interview with oda
I just now realized how impactful that is "I can't even fight Shanks anymore..."
Mihawk is a vampire. He beat the sun long ago and is free.
Actually vampires have trouble with sunlight because the sun is sour about Mihawk beating it.
Also the sun is after the hobi hobi no mi for the sake of never going supernova and destroying the world.
What if it’s Whang Zhi? He was on Rocks, so he was probably a strong swordsman, and we haven’t seen much of him in the story.
*ahem* WHAAAAAAANG ZHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
@@toadstooltadd3843 bravo good sir. You’ve read my mind.
He has a chinese name so not from wano proly
@@sarov7658 actually Whang Zhi is referred to as a “Swordsman of Wano”
@@duncanw5644 when was that mentioned? I always assumed he was from Kano Kingdom since that seems to be modeled after China, but it’d be interesting if he was from wano
A small problem I have with this theory is Mihawk's initial reaction to training Zoro.
If Mihawk had a similar situation in the past, then he probably wouldn't have claim that Zoro wanted "pity" or was pathetic.
Actually if there's any character who would be revealed to be a vampire in one piece, it would probably be Hildon, or Doctor Hogback. Mihawk might be 3rd though 😅
It would be very funny if Hildon was actually the shadow stolen from Batman the Gifter.
yep... we got a Mihawk anthem...
yep... Tekking is our official singer for it
To have a black blade we know Mihawk was involved in many battles. It is not hard to believe Mihawk sought after the strongest swordsmen of the time. But his battle with Shanks became legendary. Stated by Whitebeard himself.
@@johnbelingworth9264 The hell are you talking about, dude did one swing in marienford and everybody was in shock
@@johnbelingworth9264 Why would you say such a stupid thing? Makes you look like a fool.
@@johnbelingworth9264 are u ok
@@johnbelingworth9264 u on somthing?
@@johnbelingworth9264 So far anyone with the title of "World's Strongest" have proven to be monsters. To think Mihawk isn't is just absurd. The last person to have a black blade was Sword God Ryuma. And he kept the WG & Pirates out of Wano. The reason why Wano was left alone for so long was because of his legend.
My head cannon is Rayleigh is Mihawks father, and Shakky is his mother. He has her pointy hair and his floral print jacket interior. Shakky retired as a pirate for an unknown reason over 40 years ago, retired to raise Mihawk.
I like that theory the age lines up and there are to many similarities. The only thing that needs to be done to confirm or deny this theory is give us shakky last name
That also makes sense why he knew Shanks at such a young age too.
Just googled it and shakky does look a lot like mihawk and some similarities to rayleigh
I read the title as *Who’s who was mihawks master* 😂
😂😂😂
WOW tekkings new house has a room that looks EXACTLY like his old room, thats so crazy!
I like to think that mihawk was a young apprentice on a ship, as a child prodigy and ended up meeting the roger pirates and made an impression on oden, when they were landed at an island for a month or two and learned how to actually apply his natural talent properly from oden, which might explain how he met shanks and explain how shanks picked up sword skills too
But shanks met mihawk later on after that execution
I really want to get mihawks backstory. Specifically the story of how he came to the greatness that he is today. Did he go through the same phases that Zoro did?
My bet is Gorosei Ghandi was his master, so that even when Zoro beats Mihawk, he still has a goal, this time one that closer aligns with Luffy's in the end game.
thatll be interesting for sure but not sure how oda would piece that together
Lo that would be pretty funny. Zoro defeats Mihawk and then he's like yes finally I'm the best swordsman in the world! And Mihawk is like well there is this one guy...
Samurai Ghandi is 100% his master. I can’t Un think this now. It would go perfectly with the story.
He could have been his master but he for sure isn't stronger than him. Oda said that Mihawk is the strongest in title and in actuality in a SBS.
@@able6542 oda is not infallible. He says a lot of stuff and then changes his mind later on.
I feel like Mihawk and Raileigh have a deeper relationship than master-student. The coat Mihawk uses is pretty much the same as the one Rayleigh wore while he sailed in the Oro Jackson. Could be Rayleigh and Shakki's adopted child for example (as being a biological son makes no sense due to timelines). Rayleigh also uses an oversized sword, and him being nicknamed Dark King may reference to his ability with kokutos, which is Mihawks signature.
Mihawk has to have some connection to Ryuuma(Not blood) but strange nothing about Mihawk is mentioned in Wano.
lol humming Bloody Tears and hanging Christmas ornaments on Yoru before the video starts. That's the edgiest thing I've ever seen Tekking do xD
I think if luffy didn't have his devil fruit he would fight like Garp, or with a pole/staff weapon like how Sabo and Ace did as kids.
Oda drew Luffy’s weapon as a pipe like Sabo and (Ace has one too) if they all trained to be marines with Garp
@@hulkinglasses7174 Thank you, I didn't know that Oda had drawn them that way.
Huge props to you Tekking for having the dedication to make videos in advance, I hope that moving goes well and nothing bad happens! 👍
its funny that mihawk never receiveda visible scar. hes the oly char who never received a blow
I imagine he receives occasional blows from Perona.
@@fahkyew7776 💀
I’m going with one of the Gorosei as Mihawks master and that’s why Mihawk and Shanks have such familiarity with each other. Their both keeping their connection to a Gorosei member a secret.
I’m probably gonna go with the bald one in robes with the huge katana as Mihawks master
🤣🤣🤣🤣.. good guess. The ONLY one with a sword out of all of the gorosei. I was thinking it was the short fat mustache one. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@manualdreamer5112 it’s one piece, he can probably remove his mustache and reveal it was a sword the whole time. It’s where mihawk got the idea for his little necklace sword
MIHAWK DAY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CHRISTMAS TO ME
I'd like to imagine Mihawk's master as a Catholic Knight kinda guy. And the day he finally passes sword training, he gets to take oaths. The idea was inspired by how Yoru and his pocket knife look like Crosses.
And Mihawk is probably a vampire
Not to mention that he has the 17th century cavalier or musketeer wardrobe.
And to further this, his namesake, Dracule of Wallachia (not his son Dracula) was part of an knightly order where his name came from.
Thank you Tekking. I am kind of tired and a bit depressed. You made my day much better. Keep tekking.
Wait, I almost forgot it's Mihawk Day! Thank you Tekking for always reminding us every year!
Hey, tekking, I think you should make a video on the old lady from Amazon lily, the ex snake empress. I think it would be very interesting as she probably have been skilled in all these types of haki. It's also said that she left her duties because she fell in love, what if she fell in love with a famous pirate? One that we havent explored much yet. The idea randomly came into my head but I think it would be very interesting.
I just love the idea of Mihawk wanting Rayleigh to teach him, yet Ray just took him to gambling dens and spent the entire night gambling, so Mihawk just got mad and defeated the marines and bountie hunters that came for the Dark King while Rayleigh gambled and drunk all night, so that's how he got freaking strong
good theory, I wonder when did shanks and mihawk meet ?
@@thefleet2020 that's something I hope Oda at least hints at. I personally enjoy the thought of Mihawk as Shakky's and Rayleigh's son. But if not that, maybe a young Mihawk used to travel the world looking for famous swordsmen to clash with, and the Oro Jackson is full of them.
Presumptuous
I see many people going with the theory that Mihawk's master could've been the samurai who is one of the Gorosei, the wielder of the Shodai Kitetsu. Makes sense tho given the fact Mihawk was with the WG for a good amount of time. And I'm down with that theory.
he was only with them to do as he pleased, he wanted to find the strongest fighters to challenge him
If thats's the case then how could they ditch him so easily like the rest of the warlords
Clicked faster that Zoro jumping for a chance to fight Mihawk
i feel like if luffy did not have a devil fruit he would fight like garp with just raw power
As opposed to what he actually does
He would not make it without a fruit
Well if he didn't have a fruit, Oda could just make Luffy as powerful as everyone without a Devil fruit like Roger. Oda, says he likes to draw people with wacky powers so he picked what was fun for him. It isn't about would this have worked, but would it have been fun for Oda to draw?
@@super_seaton9016 Luffy's mom is just a race of naturally stretchy people. And is crocoboy.
@@oldgreg517 Sabo survived just fine without a fruit. What makes you think Luffy, who had freaking Garp to train him, not make it without a fruit?
I think we all at one point thought Mihawk was a vampire lol
I just cant believe how good this content is, like my guy tekking has a 1080p camera hooked up on his bedroom with some posters and props and still it super interesting to watch. The only channel i can watch a full 20min video without skipping a second.
I think we all know who Mihawks master is. Youre sitting right next to him
Definitely think he had a master and since Ace and his crew made it to Wano without Kaido discovering him because he was out doing pirate things.
Mihawk is a solo act he could have been anywhere and went unnoticed while learning the sword so he has tons of options on where and how he learned plus how he got Yoru.
Love the video keep up the great work
I pray that Zoro uses Yoru as a headstone for Mihawk back on his island, something I’ve always wanted personally
I love that a year ago today Tekking made another Mihawk video and he kept track of the holiday
Great vid man
Hope your move goes good and it doesn't take to long to get your new office set up can't wait to see it been watching you for years thanks for all the amazing content and congratulations on buying a house I know you are extremely happy
I swear to god I was just thinking this a couple days ago and then you make a video about it. I’m so happy lol I needed this.
No joke here but what IF Mihawk is a celestial dragon and his master was the bald gorosei with the sword. 🤨🤔👀🤯 Bro think about it! Low-key Mihawk could be a celestial dragon who was just like "fuck these guys I'm strong. I'm outta here" and went down to the blue sea to find strong swordsman. 👀
Nice theory
I don't know if Mihawk is a celestial dragon, but he's definitely nobility or even royalty. He said that the castle was his home once and he made it his home again.
@@r4nd0mguy99 that's interesting, cuz he could of solo cleared out a castle from some others to make his home. I don't feel that is his style so it being in his family makes more sense and keeps him gentlemen/noble like. I'm guessing his back story is back on that island in it's hay days. His deal might be " my whole family got wiped out because i was too weak" idk.
If he was a celestrial dragon then why are the marines coming to capture him ?
@@blackbladeszoro2984 they went and captured Doffy didn't they? 🤔😏
Thank you for a great video
Happy Mihawk day, I hope your move’s going well!
I’d love to hear you talk about what shanks could’ve been doing at goa kingdom. It’s not some random place.
I think Rayleigh and Shakki are Mihawk's parents. Look at Shakki's goth style and hair. Kinda reminiscent of Mihawk' goth style, and in and sbs im pretty sure it said there was a baby on board
Mihawk just came out the womb being an expert swordsman with yoru in hand
Hell yeah finally me Hawks video for me hot day never get tired of tekking101 the best way to start the day
I like how tekking makes up stories and acts out the scenarios. It's entertaining
Lmao that song you sang in the beginning was epic
Rayleigh could be his master but my guess is the gorosei with the sword. Could make a lot of sense why they made Mihawk a warlord since he has close ties to one of the five elders.
Have a blessed Mihawk Day sir tekking 🙏🏿
Yo Tekking. I've been obsessed with the OP Dnd lately! You fucking kill it my dude
I'm unnaturally hyped to see Tekkings new room at this point
I've been asking this for years!! This is why I love you man! (No Homo) you actually talk about the stuff no other people cover
Daily liker here. Love you Tekking
Mihawk is probably like Saitama were he’s just bored with being at the top/most powerful. If someone like Zoro best him that gives him a goal to reach for
Not probably that’s the whole reason y he’s like that and is also training zoro
I think you are spot on regarding the fact that he is at the top of the world and feels he has nothing to reach for because of it. However, I think he knows he will lose his title eventually, if not to Zoro or someone else then to age when he no longer has the strength to fight as well as he once did. Whitebeard showed that even the strongest individuals in the world cannot stop from growing old. I think he wants to face someone who can defeat him before his strength disappears so he can be legitimately defeated and can pass down the title to someone who truly deserves it. I think he would prefer that to growing old and losing because he is no longer as strong as he once was. That's my take on him although I could be wrong.
Yeah, Mihawk Day! Also happens to be my Grandpa's 90th birthday!!
Hello, Tekking 101! I also wish you a happy Mihawk day. Personally I disagree with you, I believe that Issho is Mihawk's Master. Their ages make it possible and Issho's past is a great mistery. I hope one day we will be getting flashbacks about Mihawk's and Issho's past!
Every time I see that Yoru replica in Tekkings videos I'm so happy I sent it to him
I love you tekking lmaoo that caroling scene killed me
Mihawk’s master was undoubtebly Berry.
Also can you give me your opinion on my latest theory about Sanji fighting Lucci. Would be greatly appreciated🙏💪
This man is asking the right questions
I don't really like the idea of Rayleigh having trained others before Luffy, mostly because something tells me Rayleigh has been waiting for someone specifically that had inherited Roger's will - aka Luffy. There's also the fact that Rayleigh is one of the few people in the world that knows the true history and the correct time/person Roger/JoyBoy was waiting for.
Rayleigh camping out at Sabaody definitely has meaning to it - he's at the end of Paradise where all powerful pirates stop before taking on the New World. He was actively looking for powerful and promising pirates/JoyBoys. It's also odd that it was him specifically that told Luffy to train for two years. Considering Rayleigh's knowledge of the world and the eventual arrival of JoyBoy, i just think that Rayleigh chose two years specifically to make sure Luffy finds the One Piece at the right time, fulfilling Roger's will. In other words, Luffy is special and because of that is likely the only pirate Rayleigh ever trained. I don't think Rayleigh would have made misjudgments before on who to train.
That said i dont completely disregard the idea of rayleigh showing mihawk a few techniques/tricks purely as a swordsman (after all it's clear mihawk has no intention of becoming pirate king) but even then I'm a bit iffy on that
I think that Rayleigh was way to effective of a teacher to not have taught anyone before. Even if he didn't train Mihawk he for sure had to have at least shown Shanks the ropes.
Damn this topic actually brings up so many questions. Mihawk is such a well drawn and thought out character I could actually see him being a protagonist in his own anime.
The only UA-camr where I like the video right at the start before watching
An idea: Mihawk lives in Rayleigh's former castle.
Rayleigh is the Dark King. The Castle is dark and on a dark & gloomy island.
Its a stretch but eh
It showed Rayleigh living on a boat cuz his house got burned down
My first comment is prior to the first minute of this video, this is brilliant
Just came to comment and like so I don't get spoils but who I love your videos
just saw you in a gmm video what a great surprise
This is my first Mihawk Day. So exciting!!
it would have been really cool if garp just held on to rogers sword everywhere he went but never used it i dont know if that would cause discrepancies but its a nice thought
Mihawk day = my birthday. I think this marks the 2nd or 3rd year of watching your videos!
Plot twist. Mihawk is so crazy strong he travels back in time to teach himself
Maybe we could tie mihawk to the time hachi help Rayleigh. We know Rayleigh was beat up, so whatever event caused that, mihawk was related to it.
Con D.’Oriano! Come on Tekking! No one else could create a beast like Mihawk and live tell about it.
Is Mihawk’s master perhaps the Master of Masters? The Master who masters over masters who himself is mastered by Hotori?
#JusticeForHotori
Amazing mihawk song at the beginning 😂
The into of this episode defo gonna be on the next "tekking101 without context" video
I’m in class rn I just had to see this
Also would you mess with a guy that could swim through the fcking calm belt, you know the place where exist monsters the size of mountains XD
It would've been pretty cool if Ace actually found and wielded Ace.
It would be, but also it wouldn't fit his character. It could force him to admit a connection to Roger and he's too in denial for that.
Imagine the Straw Hats get to Laughtale and Luffy just randomly finds Ace and keeps it to fight. Like it’s the final battle the Sunny is destroyed and it’s either become the Pirate King or die and Luffy is just randomly swinging Ace around. So basically what he did with the Nidai Kitetsu but with a Saijo
Happy mihawk day everyone. My favorite character. There is also a headcanon that Rayleigh and shakki are Mihawk's parents
The only swordsman who is stronger than Mihawk is Falldown D.Stairs!
This was filmed on my bday!
Imagine the sheer existential confusion for all of those compelled to celebrate Mihawk Day in dimensions where One Piece doesn't exist
New discussion idea: Where did Mihawk learn to cook, n could he compete with Sanji??
Cook?
Kizaru was the one who taught Mihawk everything he knows using his light sword 😎
