#onepiece #mihawk
The voice, the dress-up, the eyes the haircut, the classy&sassy mannerisms, the god damn swordsmanship skills..Steven Ward is Dracule Mihawk!!!
Facts ☝🏻😂🔥🔥🔥
The voice maybe like the first voice actor on one piece but the second one definitely not, this one is more petulant, mihawk is more serious and has a deeper voice. Same with Zoro, that one was a bad casting
@@sebastianvelez6307 No this is exactly how Mihawk was portrayed when he first met Zoro. He mocked him and was very sassy.
agree,
@@sebastianvelez6307 agree this guy seems more of a funny nothing serious 😂
The fact mihawk sounds so done with everything is perfect, like he knows he's above everyone so he's simply going with the motion
And here's the best part, he's not. There are foes later on who would absolutely kick his shit in. He's not even the strongest of the seven warlords, and there are individual members of the Four Emperors who have bounties fives times as high as the seven warlords COMBINED.
@bad-people6510 bro are u watching two piece 💀 Mihawk currently is one of the 3 - 4 strongest characters.
Mihawk could solo all of the other warlords since BB had only 1 df at that time. Also, Mihawk's bounty is 3,6 billion berries, even Roger doesn't have 2x more 💀💀💀
@@la1fy2 But I'm talking about Mihawk as he is in this arc. Who admitted he was weaker than Whitebeard, which necessarily makes him weaker than the likes of Akainu, Weaker than Kaido, weaker than what Blackbeard would become. And I'd still probably rate him as weaker than Kuma. A bounty is not a power level. That was clearly illustrated in the first fight between Bellamy and Luffy. (And even if it was at this point the Seven Warlords' TOTAL bounty was frozen at well under one billion)
There is literally nobody in One Piece who kicks Mihawk's anything. He is top of the top my dude
@@gg2fan No he isn't.

"I don't hunt rabbits with a cannon" man that was just well delivered, and that line just shows how different in power Mihawk and Zoro are. He thinks Zoro is so insignificant that he brings a literal knife to a sword fight, and he still emerges victorious with it.

@@willchurch8376 A nail clipper is probably sharper than that knife.
Bro that ain't a knife, that's a dining utensil. The handle doesn't even fit his hand.

In anime, one time he was shown cutting vegetables to cook with a knife bigger than this.
I don't need the live action to be like the anime, I need it to be its own kind of badassery and it does exactly that.
The fighting looks a bit weird, but still very badass, and mihawk cutting a ship in half was my favourite scene up until now

@@skarhabekgreyrukh8601 yeah, they could have gone for a more drawn or stylized style for the goat face. Like, carve the thing on wood, like it was in the manga( shape wise)
I mean considering it's an adaptation of the Manga only, it's not supposed to be like the anime at all. It's supposed to have it's own way of telling the one piece story to fit its medium but still have the essence of the manga, which it did pretty good
I want the story exactly from manga. We all see what happens when you adjust your story to suit modern woke audience. I think oda won’t let anyone to ruin his story unless they pay him huge amounts

Honestly Mihawk was the best adapted character in the show. His looks are truly to the source material. Also his looks really complement his voice. His british accent works well for making him look serious while also at the same time chill and cool af. They just nailed him perfectly.
*south african accent ;P
He needs his own movie! Big main character energy 🔥

His mystique is part of his alure. Sometimes it's best to retain the mystery, because too much detail and backstory can backfire. Not every side character works as a main character.

It’s completely consistent and lain our really well. Your failure to understand it is a mark against you not the show.
@@somethingelse4282 But Garp respects Roger. They teamed up to defeat Rock pirates. He even went against the law and deceived the Marine to save Roger's son. The person who Garp showed the most anger to was Akainu. And Garp definitely hates the Celestial Dragons more than Roger.
Honestly the cast was really really great. Mihawk, Ussop and Buggy are literally exactly as the anime and manga. I also loved that in my language the voices were actually the anime voices so it felt sooooo smooth. Netflix together with Oda really created the best anime adaption ever.
well... I wouldn't say that Ussop is exactly as the anime and manga but it's better this way. that kind of nose would look so wrong in live action...
Luffy is also spot on. I doubt you can find a better actor for the role.
I hate Ussop in the anime, but I love him here 😊
Rrk would like a word.
Usopp doesn't convey the scaredness as much, and the sheer amounts of bravery because of it.
Primarily this is because many of the details of his character were written out of his own arc, in favour for marine and kuro screentime. But the actor also feels like he just has to say his lines in a scared manner while not really scared. Unlike Coby who embodies scared at the start.
Usopp's fight was also awkwardly cut short. He never portrayed his capacity to bluff or to run away. He could've ran away from the fish guy, but he didn’t. In the LA this also happens, but you don't see his inner struggle. He just appears weirdly competent, and confident even, which is a far cry from manga Usopp at this point.
@@WilliamWizer In visual media such as anime/manga/comics or cartoons, characters are sometimes drawn in exaggerated/different ways as a way to help the reader's understanding of what's going on and isn't necessarily meant to indicate that that's how the character actually looks. Kinda a low key version of "show don't tell".
In the case of Ussop my assumption was that the long nose was meant to signify to the viewers/readers that he's a bit of a liar (alla Pinnochio). If that's the case then that same function was accomplished by his storytelling throughout the episodes.
A pretty good, relatively recent, example of this elsewhere is The Quintessential Quintuplets. Despite how different the girls all look to us, in universe very few people can actually tell them apart. Thus the inference is that their different looks are for us the viewers and are not actually present in universe.
A much older example of this is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the original comics the turtles didn't have different colored headbands (largely because the comics were black and white) and it wasn't until they were brought to life in the 80s cartoon that they all received their signature colors to help the viewers tell them apart.
I remember Mihawk from the Anime but he didnt leave much of an impression, he was just a really strong character to me, but in this LIVE ACTION I became a FAN of him from the few minutes he had on screen, such a memorable character. WOW
💀
@@Kirraii I've only watched like 350 eps so far of the anime so .... 💀 but in less than 10 seconds in the live action I was already in love with his character
I agree man, he was just some serious tone deaf im really strong guy. The live action actually gave him a distinct personality and sauve to him. I love it.
He was badass in the anime too. His boat was fire and he cut down the ship while sitting down. Same with the bullet slicing
@Daoless Yeah there's ni denying how strong he is in the Anime but like the previous comment said. His personality and presence in the Live Action is crazy
Mihawk nailed it. I don't think that there is someone else that could play the role aside from him.
It just amazes me of how good the world building is for this series, introducing a neutral character that so immensely outclasses the main cast so early on is rare, he isn’t some main villain, a mentor, or they guy who will fight the main villain early in the series so the protagonist can grow, he is just some guy who is really strong who occasionally shows up to things. The closest thing I can think of is Hisoka from HxH and even then OP world building take it.
Hisoka is nowhere near Mihawk. Mihawk is one of the most overwhelmingly strong guys in the world and could care less about the strawhats his first encounter. Hisoka had an obsession with Gon and Gon actually did decently against him early on before even getting his nen training. Way different cases.
Mihawk is the best adapted character in the live action series, 100% accurate.

The actor who embodied Mihawk did an outstanding job.
Mihawk is so BADASS, he just owns every scene, Steven Ward delivered brilliantly. Magnificent
I love his distrustful eyes when Zoro recognizes him... he did an amazing job capturing that trait of mihawk ✨️
I just fell in love with how the creators had Steven Ward perfectly portray Dracule Mihawk. He is without a doubt the most accurate character in the series. And I am more than happy to see him getting much more screen time here than he has on the anime or manga. Despite his limited appearances, he was always been one of my favorite characters.
The adaptation was so much better than everyone expected. Mihawk’s character feels like how he is in the anime perfectly
I absolutely love how much they accentuated how bored and apathetic Mihawk has become. My man is legit only "working for" the marines so they can throw him a challenge worthy of his time and energy. I feel his character type is incredibly difficult to pull off without certain queues such as his voice or facial expressions it could get boring fast. Yet here this beautiful man Steven Ward stands as the Strongest Swordsman on earth bored out of his mind yet a pleasure to witness lol.
No matter the version this man is just... goals?
He's so perfect?
He's so damn majestic.
He had like two major scenes and they were some of the best stuff on screen in Season 1, they did a fantastic job adapting this badass.

We adored every character's introduction and the wonderful actors and beautiful sets. It was a joy to share with someone you love who doesn't have time for thousands of episodes, and he's hooked now! I loved this show so much, so much love and care and attention to detail was given! I cannot WAIT for Season 2! Mihawk’s performance was so good. Did perfect justice to the character
The way the put the effort of making the mustache was magnificent
Its like I'm watching the anime. Insane performance. The aura is superb
Mihawk performance in live action is magnificent. He's truly a beast there just like in the manga and anime.
Mihawk was my favorite in both the Manga and anime and now he's by far the best part of the live action. The character is awesome on his own, but that actor was apparently born for this role.
I like this setup better than the series.
In the manga the sole reason Mihawk was at Baratie was bc he chased Don Krieg from the Grandline back into the East Blue. His presence there was purely coincidental. No more. No less.
But the series? Garp hired Mihawk to go after Luffy. Mihawk agreed as a means of killing time. To which then he encounters Zoro, they chat in a civilized setting. And then they schedule a duel.
This series has a more natural feel to it than the anime in this particular scenario.
Btw the knife Mihawk has in the series is smaller than the one he has in the anime. It looks smaller.
There is zero natural feel to how Mackenyu acted though. He showed no emotion, even after seeing the sole reason he went out to sea.
@@hungrypanda4506he did at the end tho a little, however it wasn't really great acting I'll be honest, they made zoro a bit too edgy
@@AegeanOlive Zoro and luffy actors are i admit little weak in acting, but every now and then they spark really bright. Inaki's enthusisum as luffy was great and Mackenyu's body language with swords was brilliant.
@@adityasajeev3282 I actually heard that mackenyu, (zoro's actor) was really good at acting in rurouni kenshin, however ig here since he was playing more serious for zoro it was harder to make him show more emotion. Iñaki on the other hand I think he's great, maybe not when it comes to being serious but when he's just doing funny expressions with his face and body it feels so natural to me, I hope the longer the series goes he'll improve his acting even more for those really serious and emotional moments
@@adityasajeev3282 for some reason, Oda himself said how Inaki is how he would imagine Luffy if he was a real person. I will say how Inaki has the energy~ there’s just some things the live action couldn’t capture but if Oda is at the helm with writing the scripts, then I have faith.
I didn’t think it was possible to adapt a character like Mihawk to live action, I’m glad I was proven wrong. He’s literally leapt from the pages of the Manga, his tone, his presence, it’s Mihawk to a T.
Yonko -level threat just chilling in an East Blue bar.

I think all of the actors did an amazing job at bringing their anime/manga counterparts to life. I felt like I was watching the anime, just more condensed. This adaptation was a real treat. I've never been more excited for a second season of a show as I want for the One Piece live-action series.
