Impressive Wh/km there. For comparsion (of sorts) in May 2021 drove the Model 3 Long Range Wexford -> Malin Head -> Wexford (M11, M1, A5 with Autopilot similarly set to whatever speed limit was): - Distance 896km - Driving Time 10hrs 7mins - Energy use 142kWh - Efficiency 159Wh/km
Thanks Thomas...but I'd say the efficiency was based on the weather and roads. Apart from a motorway stretch down by Galway, it was mostly 80-100kmh driving. No way I'd get those numbers if we went via Dublin on the motorways! Thanks for the comment!
Enjoyed your video, thanks. How things have changed in a matter of months! Model Y LR in white or black now down to €53,940. Great cars, Model 3 RWD owner..
Thanks! Great to get feedback like that! Yeah, massive price difference from when we made that video! Such a compelling vehicle at this price. Thanks again!
Gonna get my MYLR in the UK soon, always wanted a round Ireland trip one day, knowing this was your experience had bumped that idea up the backlog of things to do. Great content chaps 🧑🎤
Wow, thanks Eddie! A week long trip down the west coast would be amazing! And with something like the MYLR you'd have no problem with range! Hopefully it arrives soon! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Great video thanks, Ireland is getting there in terms or charging, still need some up in NW sligo/donegal area and SE direction. Would be worth trying an Ioniq 5 or ID.x
Thanks Edd, great to get feedback like that! You're right about the chargers....we need a lot more of them. Yeah, we might try this trip again in another car alright!
Great EV but expensive. I opt to buy the a Niro EV Platnum edition. It’s no Tesla but I’ve been on a few trips covering 615 miles. I had to charge 3 times at 23 minutes, but it was a fun relaxing trip. Thanks for the video. When the price is lower I will get one. For now it’s about $72K here in the States with almost a year wait time.
@@nielsvandenkieboom5034 Thanks for responding to my comment. I have looked on the website and it’s not listed. Only the Performance and Long Range is listed and they’re north of $70K.
@@d7mysterio7 That’s a shame, maybe it will come later if you don’t mind waiting. It was only launched in Europe last Friday so they’re still rolling out this option.
Spot on David...it's a lot of money alright! Personally, the price difference would make me opt for a Niro also...especially in Ireland where the distances covered are not that long. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
You must have had Athenry on your nav, you reached 180kW so the car had to be preconditioned. Have you ever fast charged without preconditioning, and made note of the difference in charge rate? Great video, how about Waterford-Westport next!
Yeah, i navigated to the Supercharger in Athenry to get the best speeds. Interestingly, on the way home the next day, I pulled up at a different Supercharger on very low SOC and hit well over 200kW! Thanks for the feedback, definitely planning doing more trips like this!
Thanks! That's great feedback. Yeah, upgrading to the LR is a real dilemma. For me personally, it's not worth it as the RWD is already fast enough with enough range. But if I had a few extra quid in the bank then I definitely would!
@@evplatform hmmm, I think I'll have to go with the long range 🤣 would love the 20" induction wheels too, but it pushes the price above €60k so no SEAI grant. Really don't love the 19" hubcaps, might have to paint them...
Thanks Adam. It's a lot better now than when we made that video. Best thing to do is download an app like PlugShare that will show you all the different operators!

Can’t get the Model Y RWD in the USA? That’s about €16.000 cheaper over here in the Netherlands. At less than €50k

This was epic, the most accurate range test on the Y. Can't decide if the extra range and performance is worth the additional €7.5k 🤔

How much does the charging cost?
I will be driving on a similar route along the west coast - what charge points are available that you’ve used. Nice video!

Lads !!! WHAT IS THE COST OF THE TRIP ??????????

Not sure what that means Husein, but thanks for the comment!
