Great video, I’ve always had good luck with helicoils, but my application is steel on steel so I can see where the time sert would be better in soft metal applications.

I was changing some fasteners on a Beta trials bike just yesterday and discovered the kickstand is secured to the swingarm with helicoils (oem fitment). I chased the threads with a tap to remove the old threadlock and one of the helicoils came out with the tap. So, off to the shop for an M8 Helicoil kit.
Chased the existing insert threads (in the aluminum) with the Helicoil tap and installed the new coil with some red Loctite. Insert held as socket cap titanium M8 bolt was torqued to 25NM.
I thought the coils might be stainless, but, checked with a magnet, they are ferrous.
I’m not sure titanium vs steel would make any difference whether the Helicoil didn’t hold.
Not saying Helicoil is superior to Timecert; I just replaced what the factory had used.

Timesert kits are extortionate cost wise compared to nominal Helicoil kits..

What size bolt and what torque are you using?

Heilcoil may be stainless steel actually.
