My parents have that model, I've used it many times, and it's a very solid vacuum that has quite a bit of power (almost at a direct air level in terms of airflow), I remember them buying it brand new from Sears (back when they existed) back then. The 31150 was one of the last few Kenmore's to have been made by Panasonic before they ceased production of their US vacuum lineup. I would love to one day get my hands on an Intuition (the older version) one of these days since they were the predecessors to these and are more Panasonic-like with the rear wheels mounted to the base.

Hi Grayson, I am going to look up the intuition model that you are talking about. I just can remember what that one was all about. However this Kenmore in my opinion seems very well built and does have some power for sure. I am kind of shocked on how well I’m liking this machine because I really didn’t think it was going to perform as well as it did. Many people have tested this model and liked it and so I just wanted to give a try not knowing I would enjoy it. Lol 😂. We just never know what we like until we trying them. I was kind of shocked as I was using it for the first time on how I was liking it. I found two older models. What one do you think is the one you are talking about? 31100, 31810

@@Bunkysworkshop The Intuition I'm referring to is not the Shark Rotator looking version that's being sold today. The one I'm referring to is an older model under the same name that came before the Elite. The only bad thing I can say about this vacuum is that it's pretty heavy. The other Elite models I'm referring to are the BU1017 (Amazon model) and the BU1018 (the current version being sold widespread) which are the current models being sold today.

Okay so I am on the fence about one of these. I’ve had the upright Miele, Riccar R30, Sebo X4 Boost, Felix, Vertex, Animal 2, Animal 3, and numerous Kirby vacs. Those are just my uprights. I love my Miele C3 as a canister, but I need an upright that can clean our downstairs carpet and all the above uprights either do a great job on the carpet and not on hardfloors, or vice versa. Some are just impractical. I want a simple upright that can do hard floors and carpet well, with manual height adjustment, and sealed hepa filtration. Prefer bags. It’s between this and the Stratos, which allegedly cleans carpet better than the Vertex. But it doesn’t have manual carpet height so if it doesn’t clean the carpet significantly better than the Vertex, it will be wasted money. The Kenmore Elite seems to do a great job on carpet, but how is it on hard floors? Most vacs that have auto height adjust or floating heads don’t clean our downstairs carpet very well. My C3 does an excellent job, but half the time I just want to use an upright for a quicker clean.

Hello there my friend. I don’t know where you live but I would say come on over and give my Kenmore’s a spin around the house. Lol 😂. I do like my Kenmore and feel it does a quality job for me me. I do use them on my carpet and hard floors with no problems at all so with that being said I’m very pleased with them. Maybe you can find one on eBay or marketplace for a good deal and give it a try. Please let me know what you decide and if you get one what you think of the Kenmore.

Hello there, I didn’t get and burn smell at all from mine. Something may be wrong so please be careful. Where did you get it?

I have been curious about checking out this model too but am looking to get one cheap.. I think the silver and blue model was the more basic model and didn't have the dirt senor and fewer height positions. I know Vaclab has one or two and tested them out. I have two previous "verisons" of this the slate blue Progressive Inteliclean I got in hear new condition but the brush roll was loaded with long hair and the Green Intuition Inducer (first inducer motor model I think)I picked up new on a one time sale for $199. I am also curious about the lift model you were not that impressed with. I think this was still made by Panasoic or based on the Panasonic design. From my understanding Panasonic has stopped making vacuum and Cleva now makes their machines.

I purchased this machine for $100 off of eBay as a open box deal. Was told it was never used and at this point I believe it because no smell, clean filters and the brush roll is In perfect condition plus no scratches on the body. However the screw that attaches the handle to the body is missing so I will locate one. I am really liking how this machine is performing at this point but am continuing putting it to the test.

@@Bunkysworkshop Glad you like it and glad it's only a missing screw. I will keep looking around for one of these too. I like these Kenmore are not the screamers the similar Hoover machines are.

I'm looking at getting this vacuum for my mother, as she's blown through many cheaper walmart vacuum cleaners over the years. I'd like to get her one that will actually last. My worries are the parts availability, she is rather mechanically inclined and can fix anything as long as she can get her hands on the parts. I also worry about the short warranty these come with(one year only), though I could purchase an extra few years I believe from amazon last I saw. Do you have any advice as to the parts availability issue? I'd appreciate anything you can tell me!

I do like this model and things can break. What I tell people is if you get one and are worried about parts then try this. Go on eBay and find one that’s a good price and purchase it for parts. Just how I do things on this end. I hope this helps and let me know what you decide on.
