Great video! I would definitely like to see a video on compensation. Possibly in regards to different positions inpatient vs outpatient vs work from home. I will be graduating with FPMHNP in two years. Thank you for the content!!
You will start out having to pay thousands for marketing to get your own patients OR you’ll be waiting for patients through an online app. I have made $226/hour average but Im not getting enough yet so not making much money and its been 3 months. There are a LOT of ugly hidden secrets you’ll learn after you graduate 🤣
Please make more videos! I’m a CNM getting my PMHNP & would love to know more about a WFH practice as far as ways to go about finding or creating that option, what to look for among various WFH opportunities, & of course compensation. Thanks!
I'm also an FNP going back to add the PMHNP. For me, it's for the flexibility and job security. I've worked in a psychiatric setting most of my adult life, so I'm excited to specialize a bit
Hi there sorry to sound nosy, but I’m also exploring these options as well and I’m wondering if it’s costly to get a postmaster certificate? I’m currently in a psych MHNP program and I’m struggling because I’ve always had more of a passion for physical diseases, but I’m kind of passionate about both
@breklein3338 it's getting more common for NPs to have both the Family and PMHNP certifications. Some of the courses for the first master's course should count towards the second one.
My DNP only got me an "atta girl" - no extra compensation. I'm still very glad that I got it, though. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the research project. Who knew I actually like research?? HA!
I would love for you to make a video about why you went back to school to get the PMHNP when you were already a DNP FNP. I’m a BSN RN applying to a dual concentration BSN to DNP program. The dual concentration is FNP and PMHNP. I am worried about PMHNP because my background is in surgery, urology, primary care, and quality. So I am not sure it is for me, but there are no FNP jobs in my area. This area is super saturated with FNP’s and CRNA’s as well. So, with only an FNP I would literally have to drive an hour or more one way to work daily. I definitely have less than zero interest in driving for work! I know I can teach and work at admin level with DNP but those jobs are also scarce. So, I think PHMNP is definitely something I want to do in addition to the DNP FNP.
In Florida, $100k to $120 and up to $150 if you wanna be reckless and prescribe ketamine infusions which aren’t FDA approved for that purpose (they dont tell you that in the job offer). You’ll be asked to see 20-25 patients per 8 hour shift immediately out of school with NO MD in the building and no training. Thats what you can expect. Im living it.
Hi. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. May I ask which EHR you use? Do you have your own practice or work in a group practice? How do you handle insurance and if it is accepted into your practice
Did you have psych RN experience? I’m wondering how important it is to have one. Im a nurse over 15 years, I’m curious how much of Psych RN translates to Psych NP?
What if I could supplement my income by seeing clients for therapy maybe one day per week as an LCSW? My children will be grown and in college themselves by the time I take my boards.
Thank you for your videos! I just found you and subscribed. I tried going to your website and unfortunately it is down/not working. Do you have any online schools you recommend for PMHNP program? I'm in NJ and I would like to enroll/apply this fall 2022. Thank you! :-)
Would love to learn more about your transition between FNP to PMHNP; I am a FNP considering doing the same. Do you think your experience as a FNP informs your practice as a PMHNP? Was there a large learning curve starting as a PMHNP? What would you identify as pros and cons of FNP vs PMHNP, at least from your perspective?
I would love to hear more about why you chose to go back for psych NP after DNP, FNP. I am student one year into an FNP program considering switching from FNP to PMHNP and trying to gather more info before switching completely. 😊

Love your videos! Can you recommend great companies to work remotely with? Also, can you live in a different state from your company/ patients while working remote? Thank you for your input.
You can absolutely work in a different state as long as you are licensed in the state where your patients are located. In fact, I actually work from an entirely different country and only come to the US a couple of time a year. It's great!
taking care of persons suffering from mental illness can be draining...they deserve people who can weather the storm and advocate for them in and outside of the hospital/office...if you are considering entering the mental health field for your selfish reasons like scheduling or the pay...then stay the h*** out of the mental health field...they don't need you

Thank you so much for making this video! It’s nice to see something other than the standardized offices.
Wonderful video, thank you so much for sharing! I would love to hear about why you went back for your PMHNP cert after already having an FNP?
Living the dream!! Can't wait to graduate.
Thanks for this video. Inspirational I would like more videos on different programs you use in your at home business.
Great content. Please make a video on compensation and interviewing.
Will do!

I’m in school to be a PMHNP! I’m excited!!
Thanks for this great video!!

all the ideas for your next videos are interesting. we would love to hear about them.

Jesus, focus on one thing. Americans are so dumb about trying to be Type A Overachiever Workaholics. 😂

Can u make more videos about what Pysch NP job is like?
Hello! I WOULD like a video on FNP vs PMHNP. Thanks!
I am a PMHNP, and I am considering working from home. Please expand on typical salary one should expect. Thank you.
Is there any updates about this?

Money and more job opportunities I guess. Many go back to get their PMHNP cert for those reason not because they are passionate

did you have psych experience prior to becoming a psych np? I would like to get my psych NP too but not sure if I should gain experience first
Of course you should
