  • I'm really happy where this set of sounds landed. I'm still second-guessing a lot of the things I'm building with the wavestate, but I feel like I'm starting to get back into a good groove with it.

It's an awesome upload.........there are parts of it that a little 'tougher', more edgy, which to me are like some form of psychedelic digeridoo drone......

@willswitchcraft funny you should describe it that way because just the other day I was wishing I had didgeridoo samples to work with 😜
Time to dig mine out and record some I suppose

Just stumbled across your videos the other day and I have to tell you how floored I am. These compositions are exactly what I've been wanting to hear, especially with the Wavestate. You found the perfect balance between giving the song space to breathe and adding enough variation to keep things fresh and interesting. Definitely going to be an inspiration in my future releases. I really hope you put out albums of this sometime, amazing work and keep it up!

      Thank you so very much!
Funny you should say that about albums. I'm just waiting on an audio interface that's on backorder and then album recording will be getting underway. I have enough material for ummmmm... over 20 albums 😂
I also intend to start making sound packs of my patches once they feature on albums, so stay tuned for ALL of that in the near future.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I'm really glad that you enjoyed what I've been coming up with. That was such a lovely comment and genuinely made my evening.

Music to get lost to. In love with the occasional pitch bends you sprinkle throughout. Magical as usual my friend!

      Thank you so much!
Pitch bends are something I really enjoy for creating a sense of acceleration or deceleration in space.
I ended up pulling up the source video for this session because it had been so long since I last heard it.
This was kind of my first time using ring mod in a more targeted fashion and knowing that if I do x-thing, then y-result will occur, and the fact that that particular modulation gave me extra pitch bend (however subtle) was a cherry on the cake.
I'm glad you enjoyed this session. It's one of my favorites as well 😊

@@dani_raudvik finding out what the modwheel is mapped to is always a treat!

@@the_washington_monument_am9714 I usually try to make my mod wheel modulations pretty obvious for anyone listening/watching. The particular algorithm I picked out for this patch doesn‘t immediately scream "ring mod" though.

Sounds good! I use wavestate for much faster moving sounds but I really like this possibility of pressing a key once per half a minute and then turning some knobs.

    • @dani_raudvik

      Thank you so much!
I never thought to approach the wavestate as a means to make faster-paced music. I like the presets that are built in to it that have that feel, but I definitely see my use for it as being solely for huge, slow, atmospheric sounds.
The challenge of it all is to make the sounds morph to a high enough degree to be interesting - to me at the very least - but also slowly enough that it makes sense within the scope of the atmosphere I'm attempting to create.
Thanks for stopping by and for the comment 🙂

This is a most excellent evocative textural performance!
Silly question. Is this just the Wavestate and it's onboard effects, or are you using any external gear/ processing on the sounds?
I ask, because the tonal quality of the reverb itself is especially gorgeous

Thank you so much and I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed this session.
Not a silly question at all, by the way. This is 100% factory sounds and on-board effects from the wavestate without any processing after the fact. I'm glad that the reverb itself stands out to you as that is something I'm extremely picky about when setting these patches/performances up.
Thanks again for stopping by 😃
