Nice knife! I have 2 full size ones. One a drop point and one a tanto and they are NICE! The drop point I bought used and the tanto I bought new, bought them at the same time. The used one was a bit dull so I sent it in and they sharpened the shit out of it! It's easily the second sharpest knife I have now and when it came back, the first time I opened it, I went to close it and it slipped and it literally fileted my finger! I want a mini and an otf mini too! I have found a couple times when screwing around with it popping it open and closing it, I fired it a couple times I didn't mean to and both of them have been dropped from 3 to 5 ft onto concrete twice each! Neither of them had any marks! The grivory on both was perfect and once each the blade was out and no chips are scratches on the blades either! Very happy with both! They were a bit pricey but they are both SOLID knives. For the grivory to hit concrete twice each and not even a scuff, I'm impressed to say the least. They aren't super fast out the gate, but they hit hard. I dropped one and a coworker dropped the other from opening them and then slipping out of our hands. Gotta have a solid hold on it! Otherwise I love them enough to want the mini, the otf mini and I even want a full size tanto without serrations. Mine has them. I want one without as well. I'm very mufh in love with this model!

Loved the test, that thing literally blew through that denim. I agree with you on the price. As much as I like USA made knives, they have serious competition with the others. That said, this one has been in my BHQ wish list, awhile. Nice One.
I bought this knife late but it's pretty awesome. Weird to see people complain about price. There are a few good knives out there that are cheaper, yes, but there are thousands and thousands that cost the same or more and nobody says nothing. You can get a cheap Spyderco for $50-$250 with FRN or flat G10, or one of the higher ends for $280-$500 and nobody cares. Benchmade sells a $500 knife and everyone goes crazy. Hell there are tons of Chinese knives from $250-$500 now. I like Benchmade because they are all so different. Totally different looks and feels, tactical, EDC, hunting, fishing, Bushcraft, auto, OTF etc. I stay away from their kitchen knives, which are overpriced, but I'm not upset about it I just buy kitchen knives from North Arm.
I’m not surprised the knife did well. Benchmade makes a quality knife. I have a full sized Claymore and I enjoy it. But I bought it a while ago when BM was more affordable. I think their pricing has become out of touch with the market.
@@thefrogking481 True. Even some of the Chinese brands are getting up there. If you want an extreme example, @metal_complex bought a custom Microtech/Borka collaboration Stitch. It was only $6000.
@@mazziotic8664 While it’s been a while since I’ve carried the Claymore, it worked well. It’s very snappy and very sharp. The one issue I had is that the pivot would loosen up. I’ll get around using some Loctite on it someday.
Trying to decide on a new automatic after losing my Gerber 06’ auto. People swear by benchmade but I do see reviews saying for the price some don’t hold up to the reputation. I’m torn on going with a BM Claymore or one of their competitors. Expensive isn’t always better
I have no idea what benchmade is doing with their CPM-D2 the edge lasts longer than any other knife I’ve ever had even in S30v and S90v 154cm etc I figured the claymores would have D2 to be STRONGER not for edge retention but I was wrong
Never have I seen a thread filled with more grown men crying about pricing more than this one. Strangely its the same guys who also use cartoon emojis instead of words, akin to a 13 year old girl.
No doubt about it, they have really lost their minds this year with their prices it’s such a shame because I love to support them but they are making it damn near impossible 🍻🍻

I have one and I love it. And for the edge I use my work sharp sharpener elite and it works awesome keeps my knife as sharp as the day I bought it

Better pricing than some other brands, Microtech comes to mind.

How well does it handle in the field

Nice I like that design!Hope you have a wonderful week!
I’ve been hawkin’ this knife for about 6 months. Today I decided the full-size was just to big for edc. For me. Didn’t know about this one😊
I bought the full size😂. I’m not paying the same price and getting a smaller knife.
I heard that they have a very weak coating of the blade, they immediately climb around. what can you say? Thank you.
Thanks for sharing bud

Hi Stassa, I just checked, they list their CPM-D2 at 60-62
It was either this one or the cla-1, I went with the cla, but both feel great
I'm not sure about this model, but the redoubt is 60-62 hrc, and is cpm d2
Looks nice. I'll stick with my griptillian
The day I pay 200+ for D2 and Grivory scales is the day I have serious dementia 😮
$200!?! I really don't understand why a production knife costs this much. And it looks just like every other knife
China makes plenty of knives for you.
It has a lifetime warranty
Cpm d2 is more like cts xhp than plain ole d2.. it works for me
Launch in magnacut with aluminum is 145 bucks.just sayin
Lots of guys who have crappy low paying jobs don't like Benchmade.
I’d get one if the price was closer to $150. I like knives in that size and weight and never had a problem with frn.
I bought mine recently for $170.
Depends on the vendor you choose.
I guess I'm a Benchmade hater cause none of them appeal to me 😅
I'm allergic to their pricing.
Nothing’s for everyone!
Grown men using cartoon emojis don't appeal to educated people either.

Benchmade is leading in its cash. Take the narrows for instance, less knife for more. Seriously even American made they are over priced.
definitely overpriced, however i do really like this knife
