Congratulations! Defying all odds by growing a guava in the middle of an Amarillo Winter! I feel the same way when my plants produce. It’s so nice to see the joy in your faces 😂
You can propagate for more trees. Guava is very easy to propagate. I am not an expert in growing anything, but I got one of young and tiny branch (about 6 inches with about 4 or 5 knot). I stuck it in a clear plastic cup with lid with a little sand/dirt and keep it moist. I forgot to check it and one day about 5 or 6 month later I found it was till alive with roots. The cup didn't dry out because I make some draining holes and placed the cup in a bowl of water. I transfer to a bigger pot and then it started to take off very fast.
If I only knew how to do the sophisticated way as grafting and air layering etc. I scratched off the end part that stick in the ground a little and rub aloe vera. I saw people on youtube did this. It works. Of course, grafting and air layering is much better. Good job and good luck!! I just notice that you live in Amarillo which is cold. You've done an amazing work with gardening@@natbackyardgarden

Haha yes! It is my most "tropical" fruit tree and it feels so wonderful especially for us here in Zone 7.

Haha yes. I will definitely try to air layer and graft a few of this variety this upcoming spring. Will try your method for a few branches n see Haa.

Congratulation!! May I ask why did it take this long? My guava started to fruit at about year 3 growing from seed.
Oh hehe. My guava tree produce after 1 year from the nursery. In the video I meant I haven't have a fresh picked guava in 30 years.
