Thanks! I try to put all of my larger citrus in 15 gallon sized containers. Reason being it is a lot easier for me to lift and move it around when needed, but the bigger the container the better. They can last quite a long time in a 15gal. I apply fertilizer in early spring right during their budding and leafing stage with just a mixture of fish fertilizer and dyna-gro foliage pro and again after their fruit have set. Will continue to do so throughout summer depending on the growth that I am wanting n seeing.

Haha maybe when he is a little older he will sneak inside and eat them all. For now the citrus are safee haa..A greenhouse will expand your and allow you to grow so many things! Do it asap haha.
Super cute kids. That boy wants to harvest everything at one time. My Miho was not that good, but it was the first year. Hopefully next year will be better. Mr Mac was my best tasting for in ground citrus.
Thanks! Haha I was yelling inside when he did that. Is your Miho grown inside a greenhouse? The hot temps during the day and cold temps at night will raise the sugar content tremendously with little watering. Also, when the Miho turn yellow you should wait till it allow you to push on the skin before peak ripeness. Usually a month or more after they turn yellow for us here. Great....now I will have to find Mr. Mac and add it to my collection haha.
@@natbackyardgarden They were outside, and it was a very small tree. I know they should improve. It needs to get its roots established. I really should remove all the fruit next year, and I might to let it get established. They have been through 2 very cold winters in the last 3 years.
@@natbackyardgarden If you are going to go looking for another type of citrus, you might try the Ujukitsu lemon cross. Has mild lemon flavor with not tartness. Cold hardy also. Both Mr Mac and Ujukitsu have seed.
@@growyourownfood7814 oh man I would love to be able our citrus plants outside here in northern TX. Unfortunately it get down to near 0 every year here haa. Yes they will get established much faster. The reason mine is growing so slow is because we leave fruits on it every year for our kids haha.
@@natbackyardgarden dude tell me plz i have southern highbush blueberry and they only need 150 chill hours but in my area i have like 700 chill hours now we are in 400 h chill and they still dorment is that ok cause the cold or what i didnt get it yet
@@hamadaforest8104 Sorry for the late reply! As long as they are still dormant you will be ok! Just know that any warm weather for a few weeks will wake them up very early and thus give you more problems in protecting them. As for now, you should have them shelter/protected from the very cold weather temperatures, but also making sure they are in a place with not a lot of direct sunlight for when the warm weather arrives to prevent them from waking up too early! Good luck!
Is your greenhouse heated, how cold has it gotten in there so far this year, and are all your trees on Trifoliate rootstock? Thanks Nat I hope you have an awesome harvest.
Yes our greenhouse is heated by a wifi controller that turn the heater on when it reaches a certain temp. So far this year it went down to 15ish degree outside and it easily keep the inside temperature above 32F inside easily. Only time I have to add an additional propane buddy heater are when the temperature reaches around 0-10F degree which it have before the previous years.
I don't think we got down that low yet , I'm glad you have the heater to protect your trees, plants, and fruit. We got down to -10 a few years ago. What Wattage heater do you have?@@natbackyardgarden
@@lorenbush8876 just a standard 1500w max heater that automatically turn back on if the power were to go out. Not a fan of digital since I couldn’t find any version that kick back on after a power lost.

We grow ours in a greenhouse so they typically bloom in mid march or sometime early april depending on our weather.
