- This is the 2nd Half of the Song "The Friends of Mr.Cairo" by Jon & Vangelis. I call it the emotional Cut.
Some of the Pictures I used in this Video are from : merl1ncz.devian...
The Lyrics :
One on one to talk to you
Like film stars they get close to you
You've mirrored his appeal
He wants you so, he wants to be beside you
Then you pass by giving him the other side of you
Like the mystics do
So that every time he moves, he moves for you
Soul and light can always see
The meeting of true love and she
This silent night and I,
I guess a lonely mind might see
I've seen love on the screen
I've seen a screen goddesss and me-oh
How often this, how often, this the power of you
And so, I must confess
Whatever I see
I'm meant to be there with you
With you with you
Silent golden movies, talkies, technicolour, long ago
My younger ways stand clearer, clearer than my footprints
Stardom greats I've followed closely
Closer than the nearest heartbeat
Longer that expected-ther were great-
Oh love oh love just to see them
Acting on the silver screen, oh my
Clark Gable, Fairbanks, Maureen O'Sullivan
Fantasy would fill my life and I
Love fantasy so much
Did you see in the morning light
I really talked, yes I did, to Gods early dawning light
And I was privileged to be as I am to this day
To be with you. To be with you
[movie actor like speech:]
Mr. Cairo: Listen. I have arranged this display for... for all of you people to... to come here this evening and I... I know you have been searched, but, what you... you don't realize is, is that in the back of the Maltese Falcon, I have it ...
Fringe always played great songs. Thank you Fringe!

Yep!
I was watching Fringe when the song came on..I turned to my wife and said Holy Sh..t, She looked at me and asked what is wrong? I told her that I thought I was the only human being alive that owned The friend of Mr Cairo CD The song is one of my favorites and many times I would play it from exactly where this clip starts to the end..are discovering it, funny thing is I am late with this post because I was out of the country for 8 weeks and just got around to watching the episode.
Fringe sent me here! I fell in love with this song immediately! btw thanks for the upload!
Me too!
and me! *.*
Me too... Sad, that I've discovered it only now
Fringe sent me too❤️
Same here
This song just made me want to re-watch FRINGE.... My 6th re-watch, crazy:)))
6th? Thats a rookie number, you gotta pump up that number.
Fringe is so good
Oh, so beautiful! xxoo, crying. Listening to this song on the radio as a teen was amazing in the '80s! I loved it then and I love it now. It still moves me.
yeah, 80's were so different from today :)
Me too, always gets me...
Been looking for this song since I recorded it from a radio station in 1989.
it's one of those songs you never forget. i have it on vinyl. listen to it often and play it for for anyone willing to sit still for 12 minutes. it's how i judge people. a simple test.
Superb idea.
This song cost me a friend. She took it wrong. I shared it with many. It's a beautiful song. I love it but either it or the fact another friend shared it with me. Doesn't matter. I told her I care about her and love her but she said I don't care and to stop saying that. I told her that I say I love everybody. Honestly I do love all my friends. But anyways people have boundaries. Best to you all. Love the beautiful song. I died in 2023 I'm lucky to be alive but I'm fortunate that I get to experience a little bit more beauty in this world I'm glad a friend. I'm glad she shared this with me.
The very first CD I ever bought when CD players became commercially available back in the early 80's. Lovely - and Fringe reminded me of just how lovely this song is.
Thank you Jon Anderson for all of the beautiful music that you have gifted to the world.
Jon & Vangelis sure make a great musical duo.
Fringe Bandit too. It actually kills me how much great music I'm actually missing in the world and then stumble upon while watching a show on Netflix.
Jon's voice compliments Vangelis' piano and synths wonderfully. What a gorgeous voice that man has.
In an unrelated note, I was brought here by Fringe. :)
I have been listening to this entire album (Jon and Vangelis, Friends of Mr. Cairo) this evening (for the thousandth time), and I must say that it not only never gets old, I am still of the opinion that it is one of the best works of our time. To this day it still deeply moves me. It is a remembrance of classic movies of old, how the 'new' media made us feel, and how it changed the world. The finale is not only about our deep past as a nation, but about our future. Jon's angelic voice and the musical wizardry of Vangelis fit like a fine glove to weave songs that almost seem self written, they are so perfectly matched.
first heard this 20-odd years ago......one of those beautiful pieces of music that stayed with me....
Yes, the whole Album they did is pure Magic, thanks for your nice Comment :)
Absolutely beautiful, brings tears to my eyes...
Thank You :) When I was editing this I was doing it more as a Tribute to Blade Runner / Film Noire (never saw a single Episode of Fringe ^^) but also because no-one knew that Song and Songs no-one knows are most interesting to me :)
We are living in a World a la "Blade Runner" and "1984" - I hope we can stand up and change Things someday.
We did. Fingers crossed for a great outcome
I just heard this on fringe, looked up the album and it turns out I bought an original LP copy of 'the friends of mr. cairo' from an op shop like a year ago and still havent listened to it.
fuck, what are the odds?
One of my favourite tunes from my teenage years. Jon Anderson's voice was always mystical to listen to ....
Me too! Love Fringe, and the melancholy mood of the scene, plus the music and words were captivating. Never heard this song before, but I'm really liking it.

Been looking for this song since I recorded it from a radio station in 1989. Took all these years but I finally found it! Thank you for posting!
So you had a cassette recorded off the radio, but you didn't know the name of the song? Did you have the entire song?
@@PikeTheFalcon I only had the second half, which is the only part I was subjected to and liked. It was a mystery tune to me all these years.
ΤΙ ΚΟΜΜΑΤΑΡΑ...ΓΕΙΑ ΣΟΥ ΡΕ ΒΑΓΓΕΛΗ...!
I had this record very much recall it heard it on late night radio only....fitting
godddd this song was perfect for that part of the episode. weird, sad, haunting.
Such a haunting melody. I love this song. Thanks Fringe. "Find the Crack".
Fringed too :) thanks for introducing me to a great song
Awesome episode wasn't it? Great ending with Peter and Olivia!
Incredible music i must say.One of the best songs ever..This music took me in a state of meditation...
I was brought here by Jon and Vangelis! I played this tape until it broke and finally found it on CD way to many years later! Ahhhhh. love it!
WHOA! Simply beautiful.
Same here, I paused fringe to listen to this song. It is just awesome.
What an amazing and brilliantly soft creation from Jon and Vangelis!
Yes, I'm here because of Fringe too :)
Thank you Ezekielepharcelis - outstanding job!
Thanks Fringe
there was something in my eye but i couldn't get this song out of my head something brought be here.
This Guy nailed it to the ground.. this so perfect, after many years, the message is there, and was always well hidden and true... God, just let it play on!
It's a great video, an excellent job you did with the photos. Congratulations!
hi
fringe brought me here as well - first 1:30 is pure delight
incredible song.. no words... heaven inspiration.. i first heard it in 1999....
When I bought my first cd player this was among the earliest cds I bought. I previously had the album which I sadly sold and was happy to hear this song again. I played this section over and over. Growing up in the seventies I spent a lot of time at the movies at a run down little single screen theater in my home town. This provokes the joy of going to the movies and getting lost in another world----unlike today where reality has intruded in that world. Look at what they did to James Bond.
hi
I love this song and this is the only place I've found this specific version! Thank you for this!
+fiftytwodelta Thank you - well this is no official Cut - I just had the Idea to use the 2nd Half of the Song as it fitted the Video I had planned to make :)
peaceful ..
Beautiful.
Just been on iTunes and listened to the album...but this is the only one I like..and you cant get this one on iTunes without buying the whole album!

I can never listen to this song and not be deeply moved. Gets me every time.
@OutlawIV All the same a great cut and worthy of many returns ...
Perfect, at last, i don't have to skip to this part, absolutely beautiful, i remember listening to this in the dark, with my walkman on, sheer bliss... Thank you for uploading it, very much appreciated...
Love the entire song but this part is perfection. Thanks
Fringe brought me here, lovely song! Peter and Olivia

I agreed with you, this is the emotional cut, and the best cut. Thanks for posting
I must confess... I'm looking at pictures of MY OWN 'screen goddess' (small screen) /dream girl while listening to this, and it's working really well.
'How often this, how often this, the power of you.' The music and the pictures, casting spells!
-- I like the video as well, I should say... fits the mood.
Soul and light can always see, The meeting of true love - can be read in different ways... it's not JUST her beauty appeals to me.
Makes me wonder if Jon ever had a crush on some movie star. He depicts it so well.
Maureen O'Sullivan is the only female star mentioned... maybe just because the name fits the vocal line well?
'My younger ways stand clearer...'
fringe brought me here, just love it
Heard it on Fringe, too, wonderful song!!!!!
So beautiful.
Yes, i like it very much, is beautiful, thank you ^^
just....magnificent.....
I'd like to thank you so much for this clip, it really is something special, a real work of art, in fact, it's a f****** masterpiece !.
That's very kind of you... :) thanks so much... My new wallpaper is ready now:)
This is my music.
Haha me too, I hold the phone next to my tv shazaming the song after the episode with the man looking for love was over.
its a magic song
R.I.P. Vangelis
Fringe - loved this song so much and love the emotional cut. Thank-you!
Great cut and frames..
Fringe as well ... glad I watched that episode this song is wonderful the full and short version of it :)
lo mejor de esta infinita, lùcida y esplèndida canciòn. Gracias por el buen sonido
no hay problema :)
This is the EXACT cut i was seeking!
Nice images to go along with it as well.
Thank you so much! How long i've been looking for this song after watched Fringe S4E15, finally found !!!
Excelent!
I heard this on fringe in 2020....
RIP master 😞
i heard this song for the first time on Fringe and i recognized the voice of Jon Anderson and then i thought to my self - what a beautifull song...so here i'm!! thank you for sharing...
great work - thank you
The vilains in Fringe have an amazing good taste :D
Dunham
great !!
Beautiful and very well chosen set of pictures on a genius song. Many thanks for sharing this, friend.
I'm just glad you liked it 🙂
Don't you love how almost every song that almost every tv show uses ends up being loved by more people just because it was on that show? I was watching Fringe and thought, oh my god, this soungs amazing!
Yes, that's it, thanks rugt0r :) the other picture people were searching were from the same Artist. Cool Guy, seems like he hit my Taste in Pictures :)
LUV the vid, Eze, wonderfully evocative imagery to go w/ the music --
@strathroy1972 I am happy when you like it and when you are able to share my Mood. Wish you the Best, Alex.
It is a grate cut mate It is a grate album for some who play keys guitars anyways
See, I knew it was Jon Anderson's voice when I heard the song on a certain show (yes, yes), though I swore it wasn't anything by Yes. Google showed me Jon & Vangelis were behind it, and I fell in love.
Joel Wyman and Fringe brought me here and I keep coming back.
Incredible piece of music set to a stunning, mesmerizing video, it transports me. I must know something, moments from the end there is an image of a man and woman about to engage in the most tender and passionate of kisses. I love that image, so pure and passionate. Where does that come from, I want that for my wall.
Thank you :) Sadly I cannot help you with that Picture anymore :(
Yes, I'm here because of Fringe. However, it's really because I suddenly heard Jon's amazing, gorgeous singing on my favorite show and realized I was mssing out on my favorite 70's/80's voice of all time. I can never get over how pure he sounds.
hi
This music really creates a "mood". It's almost like a modern Art Deco music, that could have been used in "Metropolis". It's very cool, and dramatic.
This song is one of the biggest benefit of watching Fringe. Very touching song.
@NEVERMORExxxxx Thank You very much - Did you already know this Song ? Generally it is not so well known. Hope you were able to share my Mood by watching this. Wish you the Best, Alex.
Fringe and Shazam as well hahaa
Hahaha, same like me, Fringe and Shazam!!!!
Yeah.. today I watched this episode again....
Well Done!
Ezekielepharcelis !
Thank you very much !
Anyone in 2020?
