Less than a week ago a friend gifted me his very first knife, a Boy Scout multibladed knife made in the 50’s. I started carrying and using it the very first day, and I’m blown away by how much I’ve already come to depend on the various tools it has. Covered head to toe in a light layer of rust, but it’s trucking just fine!
Huge fan of this video, that one was a lot of fun. Bladehq and Nick Shabazz, the two channels almost entirely responsible for getting me into this wonderful hobby. Also, thanks a lot Nick, you finally pushed me over the edge to pick up a Cold Steel AD15.
@@woahitstheillusion9749 it's far more than just buying knives or even collecting them. Buying, selling, trading, interacting with the community and its people. Knives have different blade shapes, different steels, different handle materials, different locks, different sizes, and different purposes overall. There's so much to learn about them, whether it be the world of production knives, or custom knives, or maybe even art knives. It's a hobby no different than cars, guns, watches, etc. There is simply a lot more nuance to the hobby that one might think at first glance. Some of the best friends I've made are people in the knife hobby.
“I’m social distancing so I’m not fully kitted out” translation : “I’m not wearing pants.... but here’s another knife sitting nearby so I don’t have to admit it!”
Blade HQ and Nick Shabazz !! Thanks for the video guys !! To Nick , I got pick pocketed for a brand new $400 camera out of my front hoodie pocket in Vegas . I feel your pain !! That Pena front flipper trapper is one of my grails that I need to get my hand on !!
The Dragonfly 2 is actually my primary EDC. No matter what I’m carrying, that’s my main go-to knife. Despite being small, it breezes through 99% of all typical cutting tasks.
I trust Nick Shabazz period. Every knife he has given a positive review of that I have bought, he was 100% correct. We may have different taste in knife size but Nick knows his stuff. I'd love to shake his floating hand!
Cool to see two of the coolest knife guys on the video! Well, hear both of them anyway. One knife would probably have to be the Giant Mouse Ace Biblio.
You guys rock! Very cool video- thank you for getting together! If I had to drop down to one knife it would be rough but I have a Bob Dozier 4" drop point fixed blade with a crossdraw kydex sheath. I bought it from a great guy I met at a gun show who had kind of taken me under his wing as far as knife education. He has since passed but that knife will always hold a special place in my heart & collection. Thanks again guys!😀👍
If I had to pick, my late 1950s/early 1960s Boy Scout Camp Knife Imperial version. Just damn useful for many tasks and can't beat the history and look. If I had a GEC camp knife, I might consider that as my one knife. Love Nick's take on knives and life. A true gift to the community.
My EDC rotation: I went a little overboard and bought a lightly used Slysz Bowie for $425, but I’ve been carrying it since I bought it last week and I picked up some brass standoffs off eBay. 2nd place is the Smock in 20cv with white micarta scales, 3rd is the forest green PM2 in cts204p.
I did the same thing and don't regret it. I love Spyderco knives and having a Bowie is the top onlf that game. People say don't pay secondary prices but I would rather have the Bowie at $450 than a ton of other knives that are priced that much.
formationIT Exactly, it’s worth what someone is willing to pay. I’ve bought and sold sebenzas many times, just not the knife for me... but the Slysz Bowie is a great fit for me so to me it was worth the price of admission.
Nick: Can't show face on camera in fear someone might recognize him in public; Doesn't want the attention. Also Nick: Proceeds to have the most distinguishable voice in history of man kind. More recognizeable than James Earl Jones.

Man your lucky the Army must've changed shit alot cause in '97-98 when I did BCT and AIT we weren't allowed any of that shit until the week before graduation. Our Drill sargent was an ex Navy Seal...Cool dude but was the hardest on us out of the entire company.
My one knife.. My Leatherman Wave +. Speaking strictly knives, my Protech Godfather with custom finished wood scales (I supply Mitchell Golds furniture finish room work, the boss did it)
I have quite a few but most lately carry a benchmade contego m4 steel. I roofed my garage a few weeks ago and used it to cut shingles. It was very tough, sharp, and able to handle the task!
“One knife to rule them all...” easy peasy Massdrop/Ferrum Forge collaboration Buc, I get more compliments and question from knife and non-knife aficionados. Well what else can one ask for...price currently (9/2020) around $140°°!!! And no I don’t work for anybody associated with the knifes manufacturing or distribution, I just LOVE this knife. I have a TKJ dlc cruwear shaman and an m4 shaman with rcbw skinny scales and the cruwear is definitely the beater. And it takes it and sharpens right back up no problem. It has become my favorite knife of all time: perfect blade shape, size, ergos, pocketability, lock... what more could you want.
