The bluetooth icon in my mac is with a wobolly line crossing it instead of the 3 dots, i dont know if this is due to the bluetooth card being damaged or software problem... can you help?
Resetting the Bluetooth via '.plist' seems to have worked and I think it has fixed my issue as it is no longer displaying as 'not available'. Thank you!
I deleted bluetooth.plist files & took off all USB connections behind the computer with a reset and it worked! Thank you so much for this video. I was dreading the idea of reorganizing my office to make everything USB connected.
CleanMyMac.. Thank you!! 1. I deleted the .plist file for the dedicated bluetooth file. 2.The SMC with non-removable battery. Shift+Control+Option+PowerButton restored my bluetooth connection!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳🥳
Great advice! Disconnecting the power cord worked for me! Another bonus was that my fan (that would only stop when I shut down my imac)is finally quiet again!
resetting SMC worked!!! ive tried so many things, clearing devices, debugging, messing around in the terminal and this simple thing that took 15 seconds finally solved this issue! thank you!!!!!
@2:13 I did the SHIFT + CONTROL + OPTION + SHUT DOWN button all at the same time and it worked on my macbook pro 2017 (non removable battery) !!! Thanks so muchhhhh you saved meeeee 😊🤗😍🙌🏾😃
The shift, control, option hold start button for ten seconds after shutdown worked for my older MacBook pro late 2012 model. Thank you! Could not install clean my mac because there is not ios11 update for my mac out.
hey, my bluetooth button is greyed out and stuck on "on" I can't turn it off and it does not connect to any existing/new devices. yk how to fix this issue?
Thank You So Much, I Was So Worried, Because I Was Trying To Connect My Airpods and it wouldn't do anything, I removed my airpods off of it, and tried to research and it wouldn't find them, then I turned them off and put them away, and decided to grab my Bluetooth headset, it was giving me the same problem too, as I was trying to turn my headphones off my keyboard and mouse stopped working and it disconnected, I don't understand what happened there completely, but thank you so much, this resetting the SMC Worked!
I can't turn on bluetooth on MBP 2015 and I even did factory reset but still unsuccessful. Most of the 'how-to' not working until I found the solution from this vide. "Unplugged all usb and restart" then....fixed. Thank you so much.
I am actually unable to open a menu from the icon on the time bar. The only thing that drops down is "bluetooth unavailable" I will try to do the plist thing and the smc reset. I hate mac.
@@Ye.Nicole I still have to try the reset. life's been too busy for me to even work on it. I'll try to do it tomorrow and I'll let you know if it works.
Sir i have a problem please help me I have imac and firstly it was showing that bluetooth not available icon but later on now its not even showing any bluetooth icon and saying that bluetooth hardware is not found . Please help me sir!
Plzz help Mine still not working, the Bluetooth icon has a bar cross it and kinda shaded so Idk if I will be able to repair it. (Ps it was working fine until I upgraded to the newest iOS and I downgraded to what I was using b4 it’s still not working 🤦🏾♂️)
I don't even have a bluetooth item in my system preferences. Or an icon at the top of the screen. I'm not sure why or how it got deleted ? When I open the "Bluetooth File Exchange" it says "In order to use this application, you must have a Bluetooth module. Please verify that your Bluetooth hardware is properly attached to the computer." Help!!
*I got the solution not trolling* on bluetooth settings their is a checkbox called " show bluetooth in menu bar " turn that off and on and this fixes it!!!
None of these steps worked for me. This is so frustrating. I have no bluetooth option available at top of my screen on macbook pro. To make matters worse, there is a device or some sort of unknown ID in the list, that for some reason is the only thing that allows me to "connect." But when I hit connect it gives the message "KD-40344... is trying to connect" and it generates a numerical code for me to input to allow the connection. However, it doesn't tell me where to enter this code. Something is really wrong here. Have I been hacked? I can't even delete this thing ... there is no option to delete
i've done all the steps and it's stil not available thats the only thing i see when i click on it. if it helps i think i deleted a bluetooth related file before and it made it so much worse now. please help
HOORAY! For me it took the 'reset SMS' thing, fully removing the battery from my Macbook Pro. It makes me pretty nervous any time I have to take the back cover off and do any fiddling around in there, but this HAD to be done and I was pretty shocked at the level of lint and crud in there, so I cleaned that too.
@@CleanMyMac Indeed, the whole thing seems to run better, but could be my imagination. However I'm certain it made a difference in the functionality of my bluetooth. This incident where the whole thing became "unavailable" forced me to do something, but it was already getting increasingly problematic with sound cutting out and sometimes just disconnecting itself. That has totally stopped since I did the SMS resent. Is it something you recommend doing periodically? I especially love that it didn't interfere with anything like remembering my passwords (I would much rather remove some screws and take out the battery than have to look up all my usernames and passwords for all websites). Also, does the reset require full REMOVAL of the battery, or just unplugging it?
