Although I maybe could see myself being okay with Dora haircut girl, because that was hilarious, and I don't know about the weird toilet stuff but it should be okay as long as they wash their hands after but sharing mouthwash and floss is nightmare fuel

The girl that washed her clothes while she showered and cuts her own hair actually did an interview talking about how much of the show is staged and extremely exaggerated. She also said that they would go SO overboard as to purposely embarrass them.
I got that impression simply from watching this video. It just reeks of fake to me.

Like, in her episode she would go to restaurants and dig through these dumpsters and take out NASTY looking food so that she "would never have to buy food". She said that's not true at all. She said she would never do something like that. Not only is it completely disgusting, but also extremely unhealthy! And she said she couldn't grab any decent looking food either. They made her grab the MOST disgusting looking food out of there that was rotten and stuff. And she would say "See that rotten part, I'll just cut that off. The rest is perfectly fine. No need to let it go to waste." But, they made her do that. What a disgusting way to make money. By purposely humiliating people to the extreme. And she said they told her beforehand that some things would be staged, but they didn't say anything about it being THAT extreme and gross. But, they're under contract (which only says some things will be staged, not to what extent), so she couldn't do anything about it. Smh. It's disgusting!

Probably one of the most disgusting things I've witnessed online. He could just not use mouthwash. It's not that great for dental health anyway because it kills everything in your mouth, even what's meant to be there
I feel legit sick. There are some nasty things on this show (yes, I'm judging) that aren't worth the time/effort to save $1/week, and like, I get extremists usually have psychological reasons for their state and habits, and that people ham it up for the camera, but there has to be a line. Mouthwash guy and floss guy... vile.
Yeah, I honestly thought I was going to throw up. I typically don't dry heave unless I'm watching Jackass, but the fucking mouthwash. If I spit into a cup I'm not going to drink it. That's just foul

Right?? Its a waste of money anyway. Listerine mouth wash was initially developed as a floor cleaner, before they decided to market it as a mouth wash. It's totally unnecessary. You just need to brush and floss period. I try to tell this to my husband but he'd addicted to it and apparently wants to waste money. Lol.

There was a HUGE amount of controversy years ago with the Asian lady. She actually did an interview with someone and stated that TLC made fun of her and forced her to things to look as cheap as possible. Things she normally would have never even though of doing. You should try to find the interview and do a video on it. She's actually extremely kind and sweet.

That straight up happened to my husband when he visited his grandparents years ago. Fed him some friskies. They never bought anything brand new and shopped yard sales. They once bought the food in the pantry at an estate sale. Grandpa died with four million dollars in the bank.

I'm pretty sure the 'cheapskate' demonstrating her toilet hygiene routine spoke up about the hate and bullying she endured after her episode aired, mostly attacking her appearance, which isn't even relevant. She explained how she was encouraged to exaggerate, but didn't realize how she would be received by the audience.

Yea that's true! She said most of it wasn't true and she was severely bullied for her looks and the way she talks. She has an interview on UA-cam. Its really sad.
I think she was also the one who had a friends over for dinner and served them food she found in dumpsters.
The stuff besides the dumpster diving wasn’t even that bad. There was literally a roll of toilet paper hanging next to the toilet.
She was the most reasonable person on this show imo. And she’s cute. Like Jaimie said, she just needed layers but that’s like not a big deal at all.

So reading comments it seems like a lot on Extreme Cheapskates is staged but holy crap that was genuinely upsetting. You handled all that so much better than I did - legit sitting here with hands over eyes over mouth over face the whole time.
Honestly, the bathroom use of a makeshift bidet is the best thing; she was probably laughing at all of us hoarding tp during the height of covid lol good for her.
I think the perfect movie to review next would be “Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead”. It’s one of my favorite childhood movies but I feel like there’s so much there to make fun of lol.

I fourth this! I was simultaneously disgusted and laughing my ass off this entire video. Been subscribed to Jaime for around 3 years now, and every upload she makes takes precedence amongst my subscriptions, especially within the limited amount of time I have to watch UA-cam videos. She just has this uncanny ability to make the viewer feel like she’s a good friend, and she has the kind of wit and relatability that makes it delightful to watch and mock these various examples of media that are “so bad, they’re good.”
I wouldn't mind seeing this more than every once in a while. I laughed so much in this 10 min video.. and it doesn't overwhelm her to make these videos and we get more laughs. Win Win!
I always thought about that too about a lot of things. But these people are living in their own misery. It must be miserable to live that way. I just got very happy & joyous spending a little money on a rice cooker and fancy colored heart hangers. So I would rather take my health issues anytime. Lol. Health doesn't mean wealth, just like wealth doesn't mean health. If my trade off was constipation and misaligned teeth, and a bad heart in order to buy things, then...I'll take it!🤣😂😂 But that's just me. Even if the item I bought is not for me, it makes me happy. Because I know the excitement that they'll get from it.

When my husband’s grandfather would go out to eat, he would order lemon slices from the bar, a glass of water, and would use sugar packets at the restaurant table to make “free” lemonade. (And he died a millionaire) I thought that was cheap - until today.

Dont feel bad, it's all staged. Some of these people have come out and said they don't even do this stuff, the show runners make them do it so it's more entertaining.

Judging them is pretty much the entire reason the show exists. Any variation of 'the worst' or 'the most extreme' or 'the most dangerous' all of it is popular because people judge the people on the show.
It's not automatically a bad thing. These people specifically represent frugality gone mad. And a bad example is worth something too.
I just hope TLC paid decently. And that nobody they actually know took the show too seriously.
I can't decide which of the cheapskates ideas for slicing costs appalled me the most here. The sad thing us they are so blinded by saving money it's to their own detriment. For example sharing floss could spread an infection if one is harboring a infection unknown. Then theres the sanitary aspect of things. I would not be surprised if it really isn't about saving money for a lot of them, but that they use frugality to justify compulsive behavior. Like the lady peeing in bottles still has to flush the toilet when she poops so she could just pee without flushing the way people sometimes have to during water shortages. And mouthwash really isn't necessary, especially alcohol based ones that can cause damage over time. Not to mention how nearly everyone would rather not be offered a meal than be secretly fed cat food. And to do all of that with a smile?

Sometimes I only have time for 10 min vids so this was perf & after u expressing all ur stress behind the scenes it feels good knowing that producing it is easier on you as well! Also I was nauseous right along with u like why they gotta be cheap regarding things that involve legit health and sanitation concerns there must be better ways to be a cheapskate 😭😭😭
