When I was little, I remember feeling so frozen on how to start with Zoo Tycoon until one of my friends would come over and help me learn the ropes and show me the process of building something out. This video feels a lot like that, thank you.
Loved the video!, the thing i struggle the most with is being secure with a layout, and not be discouraged with the whole process, sometimes i just think i can do everything better, or i just feel to tired or lazy
@@ebony3221I second this. I started feeling absolutely so discouraged, but every day I seem to be making notable improvements in how my builds look! My advice is to start very small and eventually large projects won’t feel super overwhelming like they do at the beginning 😊
The reason we get bogged up on staff facilities is because the guests get SO MIFFED about seeing a keepers hut! They're unhinged lol. It doesn't matter if I have a fully closed in building, it will only have a 50% boost to the appearance, and the guests complain every time they pass. Like...wtf, people
LITERALLY I had this one water treatment thing that was beside a path that guests started complaining about. I decorated it up and made it look really nice, but in the end I had to shove it underground. That fixed the issue
So many tips! Thanks for sharing them - I'm just getting started and my first sandbox zoo is off grid and paths are my nemesis! You've inspired me to create my next one on the grid to see how I fare building a zoo that way.
I've had planet zoo for a while but never actually finished a zoo due getting frustrated while trying to build. I stopped playing it for about 2-3 years because of it but I bought some of the dlc to force myself to play it and have the motivation to stick at it I spent 3 hours last night just making a car park 😂not even made an entrance for my zoo yet
How do you recommend going about making a zoo with elevation changes? I tend to get stuck on just flat plateau zoo and they get kinda boring after a while.
thank you so much for your videos, i stumbled upon your page last night and have been feeling more confident and having more fun with sandbox mode :D also love your workshop page !! have already downloaded a couple things
Love your videos Adam, I’ve been playing since release and I love it, I watch your videos, scroll the Reddit page and the ideas you guys have are insane, and always inspiring me
I'm currently downloading things off the workshop and stringing them together, and trying to organize the flow and fill in the betweens. I've done a modern cat focused zoo, a woodsy bear mountain, an indonesian ruins monkey zoo, and now an absolutely adorable cluster of farms / petting zoos. I take them apart and try to figure the builds out, but I still can't organize and build to please both the people and the animals. The paths end up too narrow and stuffed full of visitors, and the habitats just aren't right for the animals, or aren't right for the guests. I really want to make a medieval zoo with different ground levels. Obviously Newtropic isn't going to help me for dealing with terrain changes, haha, but do you think staying on the grid might help? Or should I let the medieval zoo flow more naturally with pain in the ass paths?
If you want to go off grid, try referencing pictures of actual zoos from google maps for the main path. This path should be the widest so you are able to branch off and create smaller areas. If you can find a map of the actual zoo with the habitats, use that as a base for your own habitats along with concession and recreation areas. zoochat is also a wonderful resource for habitats because there’s real pictures of habitats there.
How can a grid zoo look so cute like that. I'll be like grid-ish for five minutes and then things get stuck and i end up placing things all over the place. Terraform? No thanks!
I've just started playing planet zoo. Your videos are soooo helpful! Think I need to start with a grid system... My lofty ideas are beyond my current abilities 🤣
I struggle with the planning and layout I have ideas for habitats but when it comes to knowing where to place them and the paths and the terrain i can’t do it
it all comes with practice a big thing for me was taking the worry of paths out; so building on the grid with everything or just covering the paths with my own

Hi! New console player here and I feel the same with the layout. But the more I attempt the better I'm getting I believe.

There's an item an item in the steam workshop called "negative influence cutter" that makes is VERY easy tô deal with.

I would do your terraforming at the beginning and then work out the path placing as you go along

11:57... Dude straight up walked through the wall 😂
bro really said work harder not harder
I noticed the cheetah enclosed is kinda small. Are the animals welfare good or is that turned off for this park? Either way it looks amazing
a little small but with 2 in there they are as happy as they can be :0

You can do it!
When I use grid paving on console edition, I create a solid area, but then cannot place any buildings on top.

How long have you been playing planet zoo? Your zoos look great! Also how do you like plan your habitats and just how do you do it?
I have nearly 2000 hours played on the game. As for inspiration, I have a video on how I get inspiration on my channel.
@@adamup ok, thank you so much!
Hey admup! What is the fence called at: 6:05
Not sure which one you mean ? I custom make all fences
@@adamup Ok, my bad.
Can we not start on grid but go off grid around the edge of the zoo?
You can do what you like, its your zoo :)
How to stop people walking through scenery
I struggle with the layouts of my zoos, someone please help ❤
