I have hundreds of hours in this game and i consider myself an okay builder. I came here expecting to not see anything I dont already know (I was just in the mood for some plazoo stuff) but to my surprise, I actually learned some new tricks. 👍
I only just started playing Planet Zoo and I'm absolutely amazed by your habitats! They look so beautiful. I didn't even know building custom barriers and shelters was an option without the animals escaping and stuff. Thank you for all your great content! I hope I can use it to get better. You've really inspired me.
Question: How to make habitats interesting for animals that don't enjoy a high amount of foliage on their habitat? There are some animals that prefer sparse coverage and i just can't make them interesting habitats to save my life.
I'm so excited to get better at decorating in this game. I absolutely adore building pretty things that I can be proud of. Thank you so much for the tips!!
For me the issue isn't the actual building of the habitats that I find hard, its trying to figure out where to put everything and also how to start the enterance. That said, these are some great tips. How did you build the platform in the penguin habitat like that? I've been trying to figure out how to do water habitats like that for penguins, otters, and beavers.
I have been looking for one of these for ages but I haven’t found a good one ever since! This was was the best one I could even learn from. I WANT TO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO IT HELPED ME OUT ALOT
Great tips thank you! I have a real hard time layering my foliage and your section of the video with steps how to do that and breaking that habitat down to show us kind of how you filled it in was great. I have a builds and tours section on my channel of one of the zoos I've been working on and struggle with it. I lean more towards natural habitats (like how the animals would live in the wild) so I battle with foliage that should go in the habitat but not put it partially under the ground (because that's not how they would grow naturally lol). I really like how the ponytail palms looked though after you were done though! I may try a little of that just to see how it looks. Thanks again for your tips! I have subscribed and I'm looking forward to more! ❤❤❤
I've been putting your building tips to good practice ever since I started following your channel! Really has helped me become more confident with building and not being afraid to get creative!
I always fear going overboard will just utterly destroy the FPS of my zoo, is that ever really an issue? All these custom walls and such, they're higher poly in the end than the standard walls.
This is so informative and helpful, thank you Adam! Also when are you creating the next habitat in Newtropic? If you're taking requests, could you do a Cape Buffalo habitat, please? :)
Hope I get an answer on this question…How do you manage to put sooo much foliage into your habitats with getting out of the green area for the animal needs? For example too many plants. I love foliage but I always get out of that green zone real fast…
I love how lively it looks with all the foliage but I feel like I can never use the amount I want without the animals being upset or visitors complaining of too many plants :( Looks like I need to practice more and use some of those tricks!!
Hi Adam!! Awesome video, I completely agree that more foliage is so much better. But what about the animals that don't like plant coverage in their habitats, do you have a workaround?
@@adamup Haha sounds good! For franchise I also just found that some specific bushes have 0% impact on coverage, so now I'm using them to decorate without the animals getting pissed off... lol! Thank you for your reply!
Rate good video mate, do you have any tips to stop the animals getting stressed? I think I'll try and use the custom barrier to break up the view a bit so they don't have hundreds of Sims looking at them
I have been a Sims player since it first came out. I was a creator for Sims 1. I never played much just loved the building portion of it. I just recently found Planet Zoo by looking for a new game to play. I've been trying to just learn how to use the AI and paths are so tricky for me. I Thank You so much for your videos. They have helped me so much. I couldn't figure out what it meant by "hard shelter". Thank you for showing me how. The building in this game is so amazing. I would love to have your penguin habitat in my game. Is it downloadable anywhere?
Well, I'm happy my videos have been able to help you! I'm not too sure if I put that one on the steam workshop page, but my page is in the description of every video with the majority of my builds on there
First of all it looks awesome. Really learned something it and will try it right away. Thank you for that. But how many of those habitats can you build before your frame is collapsing? I mean it's hundreds if not thousands of pieces, isn't it?
The only thing I struggle with are the fences. I don’t know any strategies that can help so I’m just sitting their and doing nothing as I see my Polar Bears escape.
Check the Zoopedia to make sure the wall are tough and high enough for your animal. And if you want an open enclosure, you can dig a huge hole in the ground with steep slopes that your animal won't be able to climb.
Not 100 percent on what you mean but I think you mean that on the rotation wheel I you click align to world axis then It won't be dependent on the object
No matter how many videos I watch to help me be more creative, I’m still always stuck 😭 I’m always blank minded when making a habitat or just building around my zoo overall
I can't duplicate the wall, not with the decorations. I have rewatched the step many times, and it doesn't work for me? I wonder if my game is bugged tbh, because I also can't feed some animals and I have tried several ways to fix it.
@@red_life_redemption thats not it.. console players have a limit on how much stuff can be placed and how many animals they can have, when its 100% nothing can be added. So very detailed habitats and buildings will lead to 100% very quickly and them not being able to place more or have more animals.

Yeeeeees! I second this question
Rocks. Lots of rocks. They don’t count as coverage.
i second the rocks idea! and maybe a nice shelter to take up space and look nice
If you're playing in sanbox mode, there are a few settings you can change so animals aren't bothered by conditions such as that.

Ive been looking for a new person to watch for planet zoo as my motivation and inspiration hasnt been great, and you really helped me today! thank you

What do you press to duplicate items in place?

You don't have to do the planks at 4:10 one at a time, just align, group and duplicate them.
Iam always looking forward for you tips and tricks! Love you’re builds! One of the best on UA-cam 😁💪🏻
Thank you so much. I appreciate that

A new episode will be released at the weekend. I'm not taking requests but definitely open to ideas.
Awesome thank you!
Anytime
Спасибо, бро. Твои видео просто потрясающие. You're very cool.

Either ignore it when in franchise mode (they will still survive), or you can turn off the setting for foliage need in sandbox mode.
I love how lively it looks with all the foliage but I feel like I can never use the amount I want without the animals being upset or visitors complaining of too many plants :( Looks like I need to practice more and use some of those tricks!!
Same!
THE WAY HE SAYS SHAPES IS MAKING ME DIE LAUGHING-
How are you copying the pieces with them staying in position? Mine keeps snapping to and twisting.
duplicate and advance move top right of screen when item is selected
can you post some of the colour codes you use for you most common colours
Hi Adam!! Awesome video, I completely agree that more foliage is so much better. But what about the animals that don't like plant coverage in their habitats, do you have a workaround?
I play in sandbox mode, so I can just turn off that setting or ignore them moaning ahha

Hard shelter away from guest and use 1 way glass. You can find 1 way glass panels in the construction tab
Thanks a lot 👏

That just all depends on your PC it will be different for everyone. The powerful your computer is the more piece count it can handle.
This may be very late but you gotta make sure the barriers have the correct rating and height, you can see in the zoopedia
I do like it but can you tell us what packs you were using.
Thanks. Why don't we have aquariums in the game?
Now if my habitats would stop being 24% walkable with plants in them. lol
How did you manage the XYZ not to be dependent on the rotation of the object?
Not 100 percent on what you mean but I think you mean that on the rotation wheel I you click align to world axis then It won't be dependent on the object
How do I know with a custom made barrier if it meets the grade class necessary for certain animals?
That's one of the best things... it dousnt need to meet any grade requirements
@@adamup thank you for the fast response :) I realized it since, it's a great feature this way
Why i dont have the bricks?
Do you mean the faux rocks ?
I mean i cant find in Planet Zoo the materials that you used for example the Conservation peases.@@adamup
@skypistoll5200 you need to have the pack, conservation pack. And the rocks are from the aquatic pack
What is thr grade and durability of the custom barriers and do they need maintenance?
They don't degrade at all
How do you get water in that peng habitat without barriers?
No matter how many videos I watch to help me be more creative, I’m still always stuck 😭 I’m always blank minded when making a habitat or just building around my zoo overall
Does using so many different pieces for a wall alone cause performance issues in the long term when the zoo is bigger?
That all depends on the power of your PC but yes the more you add the more it will struggle with performance
How do you copy and drag a piece like that? 2:07
Duplicate and advance move
I can't duplicate the wall, not with the decorations. I have rewatched the step many times, and it doesn't work for me? I wonder if my game is bugged tbh, because I also can't feed some animals and I have tried several ways to fix it.
only the wall gets marked, even when I do the CTRL + left mouse button
Make sure the items and wall are all I'm same group if not just draw box over all of it, and click merge scenery pieces
@@adamup thank you! I fixed it
Laptops core i3-1005g1 12gb ddr4 512gb m.2 nvme™ ultra hd graphics 14-inch FHD IPS yes or no?
I'm not so tech expert but I would suggest having a dedicated graphics card for any modern game
What’s your favorite in the game? I like the birds and the reptiles!
Emu, it works with a range of different biomes, from desert to forest, and is not too small but not too big
Wish these was available to download on console 😢
Id like to see you build on a platform instead of pc
I don't own any other platforms, unfortunately, but I do believe PC is the best to play planet zoo on
R.i.p console players. Doin stuff like this will only let them make a handfull of habitats lol. Cool video thou.
There is actually keyboard and mouse support so if you need to play on console no worries.
@@red_life_redemption thats not it.. console players have a limit on how much stuff can be placed and how many animals they can have, when its 100% nothing can be added.
