I have the exact Washer / Dryer (Bought ~ 2008).... Same thing, making weird noises. This weird noise just started yesterday, 12 OCT 2018... Why didn't you comment on how to fix this?

Bearing
Because the cost to fix it means completely dismantling the washer. It's a two man job that will take a few hours and be prohibitively expensive. Most customers are going to opt to replace the washer.
Found out the problem... Someone had put Pillows in... Went out of balance. The motor mount had jumped over the plate that is part of the shipping mount. The motion dampers would not work properly so it clanged badly. put it back into center of the shipping mounts... started and dampers worked excellent. Problem solved. Just need to open the front and see first.
Cost of repair is close to/exceeds cost of replacement. Best to replace.
My GE NPDH8900J1WW Profile steam washer's basket has always been moveable back and forth since the day I bought it in they first came out. It just started making horrible noises while spinning today, 4/16/2016. Does that make a difference in maybe I just need a bearing kit?
