There was an interview with the staff of this game that showed they’re all huge fans of him. The mere possibility they could get the chance to use him inspired so much concept art, that Ubisoft decided "You know what? You've earned him."
Maybe he is coming back, we got a new action figure of rayman, a dlc about him, and a new mature version of rayman in an animated series, MAYBE he is coming back for good

Ubisoft is in control of publishing and marketing in the West and that’s why the original Kingdom Battle is now like 20€ or less when tou buy it new since this is how Ubisoft operates once their games get older and Nintendo is in order of Japan, that’s how they habdle it and that’s also why Kingdom Battle is still expensive in Japan since Nintendo treats it as a Mario IP and you don’t see them selling games like Mario Odyssey for 20€. However I have a recommendation for you, should you not know about it. When I was younger I skmetimes bought japanese games through PlayAsia and they have regular $60 prices plus shipping and maybe tax depending on your country but they sell it for normal store proce usually and not for an unreasable amount of money

If betilla did help with making this, then she really did put in a touch of her love for her beloved son. This might come to show that no matter if she’s as hot as her sisters, they all love Rayman like a family (which makes her more wholesome). ((Also consider the sister nymphs as a few types of aunt/big sister-like figures to Rayman))

My heart melted, the amount of references in this DLC is truly insane and there are some i didn't even know about! I have 2 cousins that have the Mario + Rabbids game on their Nintendo Switch, and i have the Rayman Legends game for the same console so i could play it with them at their house in their console, i've been a deadly fan of Rayman for sooo long, so i will show this video to them. A lot of people are saying they would like to get a new ubi art game, but personally, I'd much rather have a new 3D Rayman game than a ubi art game, (BTW I hope the next Rayman game will be around average difficulty, because I kinda think legends and hoodlum havoc are too easy I never played the great escape so i don't know how difficult it is.)
It's crazy how despite not touching a Rayman game for years, I could recognize so many hiddem cameos and references to previous games right away. This is really makes me hope for a new 2D or 3D Rayman title in the future, or at least a remasted collection of the first 3 games. If Crash and Klonoa were able to make a comeback, so can Rayman.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure this dragon at 4:56 is actually not a Rayman specific reference, but actually the exact skeleton found in sherbet desert from kingdom battle! This dlc doesn’t just have a lot of Rayman references but also a lot of props and set pieces from the first game laying about :)
It's amazing how many references they included in the DLC. The only thing is Ubisoft no longer seems to remember Ly the fairy from Rayman 2 at all. If anything they seemed to have rebooted the series based off Origins/Legends now. I'm so glad they kept Rayman's personality as it was in the old games too, where he was plucky but also serious when needed to be, a bit smug and sometimes has little patience for nonsense. It would've also been cool had Rayman did the "grimace" considering it was a very iconic gesture he did back in the old games. I am hoping that Ubisoft will consider releasing a remaster of the three original Rayman games, especially considering other game series that have had and are also getting a release of their classic games.
You can tell they really cared about Rayman and his franchise as a whole when making this DLC. The amount of callbacks and references goes to show how much love and dedication went into it.

Gotta love the Rayman Raving Rabbids references. I love both what it is and what it could have been, but the Rabbids themselves were the best with those 3 games and were actually great antagonists! It shows that Ubisoft remembers their roots with Rayman

The developers confirming that they're fans of Rayman and all the references and details that went into this DLC (along with Rayman as a character being treated with so much respect and being the main character in the DLC), prove that it's not that developers at Ubisoft don't care about Rayman, it's that the higher ups at Ubisoft don't care about him nor are interested. Once again, it's the executives fault.

I think it would be a cool idea if for Mario + Rabbids 3 is that they could include references to/ and/or characters from Ubisoft franchises other than Rayman such as Hungry Shark and Assassins Creed
To be honest, even though MR Dark, who corresponds to Bowser and Eggman, was referenced, it was a little disappointing that without his cameo, there wouldn't have been Teensie, Globox, etc. instead of Toad. But this is a great DLC! Rayman has finally been able to make peace with the Rabbids, and maybe it's time to take down old enemies like Razorbeard, new allies, and even his nemesis Mr. Dark!
Honestly I think the vortex and rocket costume definitely has the best glow up cause they also changed the hair. I was iffy on Rayman 3 where all they did was repaint the hair which honestly feel it was lazy imo. I really love they gave it more visual representation to on different ones tho only two but man I sure love it regardless they also change the hair.
I always thought the R3 costumes being only slightly different from each other was really cool because it reminded me of Power Rangers' suits but here in M+R it totally fits having them so unique! I wonder how the other costumes would look like in this style👀
In this dlc rayman look different he has the jacket from rayman 3 but the shoes from rayman 2 I think I prefer with this shoes look more stylish then rayman 3 shoes
Also that cardboard cutout of Globox you showed at 5:22 might actually be the back side of the female globox cutout from the Hoodlum’s Base level of Rayman 3. I could be wrong though but that is what it looks like to me

I noticed two other references: the coins in the chest have the pirate logo from Rayman 2 and the standard blaster has the Mosquito look.

The developers confirming that they're fans of Rayman and all the references and details that went into this DLC (along with Rayman as a character being treated with so much respect and being the main character in the DLC), prove that it's not that developers at Ubisoft don't care about Rayman, it's that the higher ups at Ubisoft don't care about him nor are interested. Once again, it's the executives fault.

I think it would be a cool idea if for Mario + Rabbids 3 is that they could include references to/ and/or characters from Ubisoft franchises other than Rayman such as Hungry Shark and Assassins Creed
To be honest, even though MR Dark, who corresponds to Bowser and Eggman, was referenced, it was a little disappointing that without his cameo, there wouldn't have been Teensie, Globox, etc. instead of Toad. But this is a great DLC! Rayman has finally been able to make peace with the Rabbids, and maybe it's time to take down old enemies like Razorbeard, new allies, and even his nemesis Mr. Dark!

Honestly I think the vortex and rocket costume definitely has the best glow up cause they also changed the hair. I was iffy on Rayman 3 where all they did was repaint the hair which honestly feel it was lazy imo. I really love they gave it more visual representation to on different ones tho only two but man I sure love it regardless they also change the hair.
I always thought the R3 costumes being only slightly different from each other was really cool because it reminded me of Power Rangers' suits but here in M+R it totally fits having them so unique! I wonder how the other costumes would look like in this style👀
In this dlc rayman look different he has the jacket from rayman 3 but the shoes from rayman 2 I think I prefer with this shoes look more stylish then rayman 3 shoes
