The combined value of all treasures in the Valley of Repose, Awakening Wood, and caves found in those areas is 9245 for the USA version and even less for the EU and JP versions. This means (A) you must collect at least one treasure from the Perplexing Pool, (B) you must collect the Courage Reactor, Spherical Atlas, and Geographic Projection, and (C) the lack of any Pikmin types will not be a concern because you can technically have squads for all of them while only ever getting these three treasures. Though which treasures you must collect and the values of those treasures will vary depending on whether you're playing on the USA, EP, or JP version, surprisingly the minimum number of treasures you must collect is the same for all three versions at 77 in total. Doing it this way will net you a maximum of 10050, 10010, and 10025 pokos for the USA, EU, and JP versions respectively (for obvious reasons, this assumes none of the treasures are from the Wistful Wild or any caves located there).

I can confirm that 8 days for any% in Pikmin 4 is impossible, because Olimar and the Leafling don't even spawn by the Dandori cave until Day 3. As for 100% completion: Pikmin 1 is simple, because it's just the same 6 days as any% again since achieving 100% is actually the only way to finish the game before day 30. Pikmin 2 is a bit more complicated. Glitchless, the minimum number of required days is meant to be 8 (Days 1 and 2 in the Valley of Repose getting Reds, Purples, and the Spherical Atlas, Day 3 in the Awakening Wood getting Whites and the Geographic Projection, Day 4 in the Perplexing Pool getting Yellows, Day 5 back in the Awakening Woods getting Blues and completing the area, Days 6 and 7 cleanup in the Valley of Repose and Perplexing Pool in either order, Day 8 Wistful Wild). However, with a lot of glitching, it's possible to 100% Pikmin 2 in just 5 days (Day 1 in Valley of Repose glitch to Emergence Cave to get the Atlas early, Day 2 in Awakening Wood glitch to get Blues and the Decorative Goo early and complete the area on your first visit, Day 3 complete all of Perplexing Pool on your first visit, Day 4 complete the remainder of Valley of Repose, Day 5 Wistful Wild). Pikmin 3 100% would normally take 10 days, the 7 needed for any% plus 3 more for cleanup in Distant Tundra, Tropical Wilds, and Twilight River. However, 9 days is possible thanks to a glitch that allows Winged Pikmin to collect underwater fruits, and while it won't help with the Tundra or Wilds since you won't have Winged Pikmin yet, it DOES allow you to fully clear Twilight River in a single day, albeit just BARELY. Pikmin 4 100% depends on what you want to count, but if we're talking absolutely EVERYTHING, including all Side Missions, then the minimum should be 32 full days, plus the morning of day 33. 1 day is needed for the tutorial, 16 for all the Night Missions, and 1 for the Trial of the Sage Leaf, so that's 18 right there. The remaining days will be spent progressing through the 6 main areas during the story, then returning to them during the postgame for Louie's Side Mission and other cleanup, which in total requires 14 days minimum (8 to reach Louie and 6 to complete his Side Mission). Finally, the morning of Day 33 to claim the reward for whichever Side Mission(s) you saved for last. Oh, and just for good measure, Olimar's Shipwreck Tale is doable in a mere 4 days, 1 per area.
This sums up the concept perfectly! on top of mentioning the glitches required to beat some games a bit faster (like Pikmin 3's Pinks getting stuff underwater, I didn't know such a glitch existed but I like how it shaves off a day). Really is a shame Pikmin 1 is the ONLY game that can be beaten with each location visited once with pure dandori skill as the way they allow you to solve the water puzzles in Garden of Hope without blues feels SO in the spirit of the game. The other pikmin games kind of gate the blue pikmin in a way that it's literally impossible to beat the stages 100% until you get them. Would be nice if in pikmin 2 there was some "alternate yet legal" way to get blue pikmin and break down the electric fence without yellows. and similarly, I'll never stop griping about how Blues are literally the last thing you get in Pikmin 3, forcing you to redo EVERY stage to get all the stuff, so with that much leeway to 100%, your dandori skills are only really put to the full test if you ignore every fruit and choose to get all the fruit at once on the second visit. You kind of have to make it your own challenge. But ah well, game still is fun to figure out custom challenges for yourself. (like I really would like to try a No onion run in Pikmin 4, relying only on wild pikmin, JUST to see how many cave revisits are necessary).
I think I speak for all of us when I say that we'll never get tired of your Pikmin content. Please do a part two with 100%ing the game, it would be very interesting.
10:00 you… you can just… throw pikmin over the wall to get that onion?? Damn. I feel dumb. I’ve been doing like a weird setup where I have to keep unfreezing and refreezing the water. Noted.
Well you still need to freeze and unfreeze the water to deliver the onion. In fact, due to the low pikmin numbers and needing 30 ice pikmin to freeze the lake, you have to use an upgraded Oatchi to actually carry the onion across the water. What digging up the onion does though is carry the onion to the water's edge (make sure you watch it though or it won't spawn close to the edge) and then you can get it with Oatchi without needing to bring Ice pikmin up the wall, saving a bit of time. I liked the blue onion puzzle a lot. THIS is how you should've been able to get blues early in all the games frankly.
Knowing Pikmin 4 can be completed (at least until you get to Olimar) in 9 days is so mind blowing considering that my usual run of the game always goes from 60 to 70 days, I know that I love taking my time, collecting things and 100% the game but Jesus Christ
Yeah the theoretical minimums were established early on, but Pikmin 4 is designed to be casual friendly and encourages you to take your time. Given the night missions and Sage missions also count as a full day, and heck even when you 100% there's a plot excuse for why the crew is stuck on the planet so you can literally take as much time as you need. The fastest you can 100% it is literally 32 days thanks to the night missions and forced revisits, so there's no shame in high day numbers there (despite it being possible to beat every stage in 1 day except the first and final, all due to Oatchi being young in the first stage and Louie unblocking the final cave in Primodial Thicket)
I think the Pikmin series might be the games I’m most interested in watching and learning about that but I don’t think I’ll ever play myself. I just can’t really handle games where a main focus is time pressure.
@@Metro_Stalin_Mayer you had the right idea :) Purely as a silly thing on English words - a rattle is the baby toy, a rattler is a venomous snake . Two things not to mix up! 😂
The really crazy thing to think about is that it would probably take more than one day in real life playing Pikmin 2, to beat Pikmin 2 in just one day.
For Pikman 1, area 2, there's a really important speedrunning trick you're missing. Enemies and fire-shooters generally don't exist if you're not looking at them. So keeping the camera zoomed in and looking away from your pikman that are carrying stuff will usually keep them safe. I'm not sure if it's quite that simple, but it's abused heavily by speedrunners to get across those fire jets.
Ah THAT'S how they do that...just get away from the fire jets and they'll be unloaded... Sounded like one of those things I was always too scared to try.
day 1, tutorial day 2, emergence cave day 3, cave o beasts + flower garden day 4, yellow pikmin + citadel of spiders + glutton's kitchen day 5, blue pikmin + snagret hole + bulblax kingdom day 6, shower room + submerged castle, debt paid is what i typically do
Whenever I play Pikmin 2 or 4, I always copy my save to another save slot when I end the day, so if I make a mistake mid-day, and it already saved, I can still go back one day. This way, I have all the benefits of the mid-day saves, while still being able to go back one day. Sure, this isn't as good as Pikmin 3 (and Pikmin 1 on Wii and Switch), because I can't go back as many days as I want. But with how much can get done in just one day, if I made a mistake 3 or 4 days ago, I might as well just start all over.
I feel like you over complicated day 3 and 4 in Pikmin 3 a lot. They're possible to do completley glitchless fairly easily imo. Day 5 and 6 are also possible without glitches, but they're incredibly difficult
Yeah Pikmin 3 in general is the easiest to 100% in minimum days by far due to how story blocked everything is. Kind of a shame, despite me liking the story and bosses a lot.
I remember when Pikmin 4 came out, I tried optimizing my day count for 100%. I think I got it down to like, 28 days? You can get blues before leaving the sun-speckled terrace if you have an Oatchi build that has enough carrying strength and use ice pikmin properly.
Same my first playthrough had me beating pikmin 2 100% in about 40 days. Now I comfortably do about 10 days. Hehe just cause I can watch people do Perplexing pool and Valley of Repose part 2 in one day doesn't mean I have the routes memorized, but maybe I could now...
Hey, saw the poll and thought it was personal expirience haha, also one question, the person in the vid is dan or ty? Also super excited for the tournament, you should have pit lemon as a secret fight to the champion, love your vids (Also, would you do all games 100% to see how long they would take? Just curious)
I tried to 100% the first 2 Pikmin games in 6 and 9 days respectively (the least amount of days the need). Pikmin 1 is insanely hard, and the best I've gotten is 9 days for now. But Pikmin 2, is surprisingly much easier than it looks like. The area I struggled the most with was the Perplexing Pool, but that's because I'm dumb and forgot to farm enough blue pikmin for Submerged Castle, so I had to do it the same day as completing that area xd
Yea, your throwing strategy in Pikmin 1 appeared to get better by the Distant Spring. From the footage, it did not look very good for the Forest of Hope and Forest Navel. That in itself can make a huge difference.
I'm impressed that they managed to make the start of Pikmin 4 so unbearably annoying to play that Press A! decided to pretend day 5=3 rather than restart for a clean save.
I've never seen a 1 day forest navel without using the wii version and a wii remote. It allows you to do pikmin swapping and really far whistling/throws.
I have a lot more respect for these runs after i tried red-less run in pikmin 1. I couldn't even clip my way to the yellow onion with the pellet on day 2 lol and i was at it for an hour and im pretty familiar with hard video game skips and glitches. Maybe its just harder in the pal gamecube version, ill keep telling myself that to cope
i beat all pikmin games on the switch with no deaths pikmin 1: 13 days no deaths pikmin 2: 20 days no deaths pikmin 3 deluxe: 27 days no deaths pikmin 4: 61 days no deaths
6:01 this specific jump is actually unnecessary! with some specific movement you can just WALK up onto this platform. using the left side of the ledge you can get up top! Additionally, while it doesnt impact this challenge since you wouldnt have the items until past day 3 anyway, you can use the proximity mines to clip yourself up on many of the ledges of this game, pressing yourself against it and letting the mine push you up with its collision. found many of these discoveries myself doing an oachi-less challenge of this game (which i made far more progress than i expected with)
Two issues with that, the Nova Blaster’s one of the faster parts to get, and you have to get every part to finish the game in 6 days anyway. The game doesn’t end until you have all parts or until you finish day 30.
obligatory comment that isn't related to the video (140 likes in a day is a new record, but sadly some people are upset at me for a reason that I cannot decipher)
I’m just saying…for Pikmin 3, can’t you just get the dragonfruit with the time you have left? Like, why end the day early to have to do an unnecessary battle for less juice?

Noted.
freezing and unfreezing is what the game intends you to experiment around with
Well you still need to freeze and unfreeze the water to deliver the onion.
The fastest you can 100% it is literally 32 days thanks to the night missions and forced revisits, so there's no shame in high day numbers there (despite it being possible to beat every stage in 1 day except the first and final, all due to Oatchi being young in the first stage and Louie unblocking the final cave in Primodial Thicket)
pikmin 2 only needs 1 *(real life)* day to complete!
I think the Pikmin series might be the games I’m most interested in watching and learning about that but I don’t think I’ll ever play myself. I just can’t really handle games where a main focus is time pressure.
Bro is on that Dandori grindset.
36:09 there I am gerry!! There I am!!
nice run
says he’s not kidding about pikmin 2 taking one day to finish
proceeds to finish pikmin 2 in five days
The thing at 11:10 I think its called a rattler? Its a baby toy, you shake it and it makes noise
It's likely a regional thing but where I live they're just "rattles", without the second r.
@@zoura_3025 English is not my first language so there's the possibility I wrote it wrong in the first place
@@Metro_Stalin_Mayer you had the right idea :)
Purely as a silly thing on English words - a rattle is the baby toy, a rattler is a venomous snake . Two things not to mix up! 😂

The really crazy thing to think about is that it would probably take more than one day in real life playing Pikmin 2, to beat Pikmin 2 in just one day.
Press A! Do you just love to suffer 🎤
Now, this is the content i love. Glad i subbed on patreon
you made me want to boot up my switch and play pikmin again

Alternate title: Pikmin 2 but Olimar always keeps bumping into things and is late at work and needs to speedrun it.
"Im not a speedrunner" he said, halfway through his hour long video about speedrunning.
@@MarioMastar you don’t even have to be far away from them. It calculates by angle of view and zoom amount rather than distance.
As expected. Glad to see the one-day Pikmin 2 run getting some more attention, it’s pretty crazy that it’s actually possible. 😂
from what i understand, in Pikmin 4, the cave time doesn't ~actually~ flow, it just takes 1/6 of the day (one segment of the timer)
I'd love to see this become a speed running category.
Absolute endurance of 1 2 3 and 4 back to back
Could be a good spinoff from the existing low% categories
The only error of the forset of hope is that using a glitch you cat unlock and farm yellows while the red pikmins are breacking the 1st wall
day 1, tutorial
day 2, emergence cave
day 3, cave o beasts + flower garden
day 4, yellow pikmin + citadel of spiders + glutton's kitchen
day 5, blue pikmin + snagret hole + bulblax kingdom
day 6, shower room + submerged castle, debt paid
is what i typically do
Whenever I play Pikmin 2 or 4, I always copy my save to another save slot when I end the day, so if I make a mistake mid-day, and it already saved, I can still go back one day.
You have opened my eyes to the possibilities!
"every pikmin game"
what about pikmin adventure from Nintendo land?
Just realized...
Winged Onion Early is abbreviated to WOE
IDK if this is applicable in any way, but it's kinda funny
Awesome video! It'd be interesting seeing the 100% version
"But because you have unlimited time, it doesn't matter."
Ironically thats one of the most common criticisms of Pikmin 2 as a whole.
I for one would love to see this for 100%
I remember when Pikmin 4 came out, I tried optimizing my day count for 100%. I think I got it down to like, 28 days?
You can get blues before leaving the sun-speckled terrace if you have an Oatchi build that has enough carrying strength and use ice pikmin properly.
Don't feel ashamed, we all make stupid mistakes, like the time where I left 4 ketchup bottles in the fridge.
It took Me 40 Days to beat Pikmin 2 when I first played it
Now I beat it in 12-14 just anytime I Play it
Same my first playthrough had me beating pikmin 2 100% in about 40 days. Now I comfortably do about 10 days. Hehe just cause I can watch people do Perplexing pool and Valley of Repose part 2 in one day doesn't mean I have the routes memorized, but maybe I could now...
I kinda hope the press a and lemon fued keeps going, maybe into other games aswell
The relaxing level of these videos is something which I can only aspire to copy lol - love this channel.
I coughed in time to the first sentence in the video

The thumbnail made me think this was a jan Misali video lol
Hey, saw the poll and thought it was personal expirience haha, also one question, the person in the vid is dan or ty? Also super excited for the tournament, you should have pit lemon as a secret fight to the champion, love your vids (Also, would you do all games 100% to see how long they would take? Just curious)
I tried to 100% the first 2 Pikmin games in 6 and 9 days respectively (the least amount of days the need). Pikmin 1 is insanely hard, and the best I've gotten is 9 days for now. But Pikmin 2, is surprisingly much easier than it looks like. The area I struggled the most with was the Perplexing Pool, but that's because I'm dumb and forgot to farm enough blue pikmin for Submerged Castle, so I had to do it the same day as completing that area xd
finally catching one of these moments after release!
"Which pikmin is the fastest to do any% no game breaking glitches" is the question youre really asking
The tutorial and first couple days in Pikmin 4 are like an hour total. It really would have been worth redoing it.
I genuinely feel like he was getting PIkmin 4 out of the way for a reason. like it's kind of clear it wasn't the focus of the video.
Last time i got here this early i was being hounded by some weird people asking about some guy named olimar
I would love to see the 100% runs version of this video. Good stuff!
Hopefully pikmin 4 gets lowered to 8 days, this way
5 days (pikmin 2)
6 days (pikmin 1)
7 days (pikmin 3)
8 days (pikmin 4)
Yea, your throwing strategy in Pikmin 1 appeared to get better by the Distant Spring. From the footage, it did not look very good for the Forest of Hope and Forest Navel. That in itself can make a huge difference.
you can beat hey pikmin by only scanning non compatible amiibos
24:00 “all we have to do is flyme blue pikmin…”
Improved my pikmin 1 pb to 12 days today
I'm impressed that they managed to make the start of Pikmin 4 so unbearably annoying to play that Press A! decided to pretend day 5=3 rather than restart for a clean save.
I've never seen a 1 day forest navel without using the wii version and a wii remote. It allows you to do pikmin swapping and really far whistling/throws.

This is basically a any % speedrun of all the games
I have a lot more respect for these runs after i tried red-less run in pikmin 1.
I couldn't even clip my way to the yellow onion with the pellet on day 2 lol and i was at it for an hour and im pretty familiar with hard video game skips and glitches.
Maybe its just harder in the pal gamecube version, ill keep telling myself that to cope
When i was a kid i was proud of beating pikmin 1 in 19 days. But 12 or 13? damn
ZACHTHEPILLOW MENTIONED!!! WTF IS A NON TORTUROUS PIKMIN 2 SPEEDRUN?!?!
i beat all pikmin games on the switch with no deaths
pikmin 1: 13 days no deaths
pikmin 2: 20 days no deaths
pikmin 3 deluxe: 27 days no deaths
pikmin 4: 61 days no deaths
Instead of “shaggy long legs early” could we call it “Early Shaggin’”?
6:01 this specific jump is actually unnecessary! with some specific movement you can just WALK up onto this platform. using the left side of the ledge you can get up top!
Additionally, while it doesnt impact this challenge since you wouldnt have the items until past day 3 anyway, you can use the proximity mines to clip yourself up on many of the ledges of this game, pressing yourself against it and letting the mine push you up with its collision. found many of these discoveries myself doing an oachi-less challenge of this game (which i made far more progress than i expected with)
I mean, you basically 100%ed Pikmin 1 already.
Managed to beat pikmin 3 without exploits, it’s not that hard but day 5 is very tight
every level in pikmin 1 can be done in 1 day yeah but it’s actually the speed run wr lmao
The Nova Blaster is an optional part IIRC, that could help with the Forest of Hope in one day
Two issues with that, the Nova Blaster’s one of the faster parts to get, and you have to get every part to finish the game in 6 days anyway. The game doesn’t end until you have all parts or until you finish day 30.
@@meko750 Right, I forgot the game doesn't end, it's been a hot couple decades since I touched Pikmin 1 lol

Hi
I can tell you it’s certainly not Pikmin Bloom.
Ahhh I was a day off, fuck yeah
Edit: oh this is a movie
I’m just saying…for Pikmin 3, can’t you just get the dragonfruit with the time you have left? Like, why end the day early to have to do an unnecessary battle for less juice?
i'm glad you decided to take the L on pikmin 4 bc i was on my way to the comments to say that you didn't complete it in 9 days
Not doing the Louie quests in 2 and 4 definitely means you didn't beat the game, but cool video nonetheless.
You get credits and scores
So something I have noticed is that either the characters we play as in the Pikmin games are aliens that are TINY or humans shrank.
Their home planets are provided in the games, so that kind of answers which one they are lol
Tiny aliens now, but maybe they were at one point humans that shrank.
The lore about the Shepherd Family and the planet Giya implies a lot, but doesn't confirm anything.
ok but if you do the 100% version you have to do the invincible wings glitch in pikmin 3 to do all of twilight river in 1 day
we love the Celeste music

I wonder if there is another game series you could dive in to like this... Think that would be neat!

Fastest you can beat Pikmin 1 is 6 days. It’s very hard though. Only way to do 5 day would be to get Positron Generator and engine on the same frame
@@stephenweigel Think the only way to get the positron generator is waypoint displacement, and that adds another day as is.
