    Rika is a Marauder.
After years of drifting aimlessly after the war with the Nietzscheans, she has finally found a home with the Marauders-a mercenary outfit comprised of Genevian veterans.
Back in the war, Rika hated her government, but always fought for the woman next to her. Now she fights for her teammates in Basilisk, an elite spec-ops team that takes on the toughest missions.
When General Mill, CO of the Marauders comes to Rika with a top-secret solo operation, she wants to turn it down. But the mission comes with a chance to save Silva, her old team leader from the Nietzschean war.
Without team Basilisk, without the Marauders, Rika must stand on her own against all odds and save the woman who once saved her.

I´m glad it´s a book and not a tv serie, because that would be gruesom. But I realy like the story, it is different, original, with strong female characters. I like that the women are not underdogs that ´made´ it, but are truly equel to the men. Congradulations on a very good series.

Chain guns don't spool up. A chain gun bolt is operated by a chain and gears powered by an electric motor. It doesn't have multiple barrels, only one. Like the M242 25mm bushmaster chain gun on the Bradley AFV. It does however have a dual feed receiver allowing both HE and APFSDS rounds to be fired at up to 900rpm in high rate, low rate, and single shot modes.

@@Aeon14 funny though, why do militaries 200 years before present day follow the same tactics even though the weapons are more primitive. I'll explain, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Armies still try to flank each other, set up fortifications, set ambushes, and use artillery in some form or fashion.
7000 years is a long time. The weapons you describe exist today with the exception of directed energy weapons and cyborgs which aren't that far off.

I really dislike the majority of scifi authors and writers. Most of them, MD Cooper included, lack an in depth imagination in areas where items and certain materials in modern use are top of line or are the only known materials with the abilities to handle whatever specific use they are designed and intended for. For example: the flight line and landing pads of the spaceport in this book. MD Cooper tries to create a futuristic substance he dubs “Hard plas” to imply a lightweight and solid material strong enough to withstand concussive force from controlled explosions, extreme heat and weight of spaceships landing and returning to orbit of whatever planet they are on. We currently use reinforced extra-hard concrete, ceramic, and granite rock to construct landing/take off pads for today’s rockets, space shuttles, and space planes. Any substance containing plastic would NEVER hold up to a single use of a rocket’s explosive ignition. Nevermind it lasting over and over again. While plastic could be designed and made thick enough to possibly withstand the weight of the vehicle and the launch platform, it would not be able to take the heat, no matter what ingredients were mixed in to strengthen the “Hard Plas” Cooper uses in this book. The plastic molecules within the substance would liquify under the heat and pressure. It is a failure of his imagination. So instead of actually thinking and studying the materials, the effects of explosive gasses or chemicals used in propulsion, the physics involved and what happens in from prolonged use, he steals the shitty ideas of other wannabe scifi authors such as Plas-steel and or Plas-crete. Cooper’s stolen fictional material hard-plas is a substance that will never work no matter what ingredients and processes used to produce it. The plastic in it will fail, PERIOD! So in conclusion, Cooper is an unimaginative idiot, a thief because he steals other’s ideas, and because those specific ideas are also freeking ignorant and impossibly retarded, Cooper is doubly the fool for stealing and using bad ideas. I could go on. I could bust his balls on his equally retarded idea of his Grav-Shield used in a vacuum to surround a space dock for holding in atmosphere as well as repel incoming solid objects. Gravity is a magnetic type force pulling mass toward it. It IS NOT a propelling force pushing against mass. An anti gravity force or a mass manipulation device could possibly and theoretically be created in the future. But using a field of gravity to repell mass while simultaneously retaining mass is completely foolish and flat out fuckin stupid. Bad writers make up the majority of the scifi genre. It being my favorite genre, I hold the to a high standard! MD Cooper fails to meet my standards, but his story and plot line is ok or tolerable at the least.
