Since suffering panic attacks 4 years ago I started listening to everything sci Fi audio books at night while resting. Thankfully now no longer suffering panic related issues I still listen to audiobooks. I have never posted a comment until now. This story was so captivating that I was listening to this every spare minute of my day. So detailed in description, loved it. I'm left reading comments with mixed reviews but one thing being obvious is we are all invested in the story
You should try listening to ASMR videos they’re very relaxing. There’s one lady who does it here named Rebecca A lot of them are just weird. But I especially like her candy eating videos which sounds crazy but it’s actually pretty cool.
@@billygoat1970 This is true tho. I get prescribed 2mg clonazepam/day. Been on em since I was 18. 32 now. Psychiatrists say I'll need em for life despite me having completed all forms of therapy available in Canada.

I've heard that people will hit dislike just so the youtube won't bombard you with sci-fi audio books or themes. It doesn't really always reflect on the quality of the author or material. Just not their cup of tea. I personally think it really well written and narated. Reminds me of Critons work. Andromeda Strain especialy.
Absolutely superb! One of the best sci-fi books I've ever read - realistic tech, engaging characters/dialogue and really nice pacing. THANKS + looking FW to the rest of the series!!!
thank you Mr, Kilby. I'm 77yo still reading SF. I'm impressed by your storytelling, It's hard to get anything done as I live in a cell black hole and I'm limited to a dsl. Great job. Looking forward to following all of the trilogy.
@Redfern Pitcher He is probably using the Hawking method. DSL is in reference to "dark string lensing" , combining dark matter, string theory, gravitational lensing effects. Thus the narrow bandwidth.
My husband and I zoomed through this great title. Kudos for the interesting science based biology plot (no spoilers). We had a great time going back and forth in Google and Wikipedia. Love when sci Fi is based in science 😜
I am absolutely loving this story. Looking forward to the whole series. And the narrator does a wonderful job. She certainly does take the time to create a truly visual experience in the minds eye. Next best thing to reading it myself. Which I greatly appreciate since my eyes are failing me more and more all the time with MS.
I would read a lot more books if authors like you understand that some of us have a greater interest in the people than types of metal weaponry, how fast and long small groups can run from flesh eating zombies. It might sound trivial but I want to see survivors find a safe place. Great book, I will remember your name and seek out your writing, you nailed it. The hidden below ground cave did it for me, the gardens and most of all the fish farms
I've read this series in the past and am enjoying the audiobook. I just now noticed the author runs this channel. I want to say I live all of your books!
Used to be a prodigious reader but now partially blind in one eye so it’s tiring. I greatly appreciate this series. Up there with Asimov (IMHO) with better character development. Thanks
Whoa...where have I been...this is a great sci fi story/book. Why hasn't John Carpenter, Steven Spielberg or George Lucas turned this into a blockbuster movie..hmmm? 10 out of 10 stars👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
Andy Weir called, he wants his story back. To be fair Gerald only copied the starting this time. 6 astronauts living in a hab, a dust storm raging, communications with Earth lost. Everything going pear shaped. At least he didn’t call their ship “The Hermes”, no, he saved that name for use in Entanglement. The rest of the story is more original than the starting and is quite entertaining, although once again the choice of “Deckard” (or Decker) as the main protagonist's name had overtones of Blade Runner, especially given the way the character is described as moving (basically like Roy Batty). Oh, and what’s the name of the cute comedy sidekick, oh yes, Gizmo. At least he didn’t spawn any monsters!
You do know that every story about Mars will have some sort of habitat hub, and comms will be challenging with all the dust storms that do happen on Mars, right ?
Enjoyable story and excellent voice acting. Lovely to have this available for free on youtube! Starting the next book now. :) P.S. As a stem cell scientist and biochemist myself, I'll start work on some of these ideas in the lab! JK ;P

1:47 Let's see, right, there are dead bodies of colonists around with missing limbs. Decker has had some kind of contamination and was knocked out from it. She does an unscheduled EVA -- and Jan has the problem. (Great story telling.)
Ah, yes, we have already had one failed expedition, we should certainly send a guy with a genetic condition on the next one. Yup, great thinking, mate.
Terrific story. Narrator flat toned when narrating, yet character voices pleasant. I cannot believe this is free. Thank you, very much!
When eye sight is failing with age, it is wonderful to listen to audiobooks. Love sci-fi.
Same here 😆😁 Love Audiobooks since my eyes are not what they used to be
Same! I can hardly read your comment :-)
Agreed..TBI too!
Every time I try to read,i fall asleep. Not with audiobooks! Thanks

Thank you!

I just finished Colony 6 Mars (as well as Gizmo's short story) and I'm immediately starting the series over again. It was THAT good!
Wow they got 6 books . I didn't know. I'm behind finish the second one .
@@darthsalinas5445 Keep going! They're all really good!
Excellent set of stories and superb narration by Nicol Zanzarella. Looking forward to starting a new series of audiobooks by Gerald M Kirby.
The reading was excellent and the story was intriguing. Thanks for this!
A delightful trilogy I stuimbled upon quite by accident. I'm quite mystified by the (currently) 58 dislikes on this first book.
Some people aren’t happy with to much of anything, makes me glad to be me! 😛

observation. Enjoying the book. 👍🏼
