I really hope you take the time to travel to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to drive the Cabot Trail and explore the Cape Breton highlands national park. It is absolutely beautiful and a must see in Nova Scotia. Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg are closer to Halifax and beautiful as well. Regardless of where you go, I hope you have an amazing time here! Safe travels!

Old Quebec city is nice (but maybe it won't be as nice for you as it is closer to European style). If you come to Ottawa better coffee is Bridgehead (local brand, but I think they opened in Toronto recently). Closer to Starbucks taste than Timmy's.

Welcome to Canada! Hope you get a chance to come to Montreal. Poutine originated in the province of Quebec. Glad you got to try it. Tim’s coffee used to be better but Tim’s got bought by the Burger King chain and has not been the same since. Looking forward to following your travels across North America. Safe travels!

Glad you made it to Toronto, maybe you'll help me fall in love with Canada again too. Be sure to check out Tobermory and Algonquin while in Ontario. Good luck with your travels!! (Ps.
Canada is a country I have always wanted to go to but never had the chance to go to.
In my impression, Canada is rich in natural beauty and maple leaves.
I didn't expect you to let me see many high-rise buildings on the first day, haha...
CN Tower lives up to its name, the downward landscape is great, l cannot wait for the next episode!

Welcome to Canada! It makes me smile to see you so excited about skyscrappers, the CN tower, Tim's (meh reaction to double double was priceless), a school bus, poutine and bacon, houses, and wildlife. Btw seeing a fox is super rare, so you were really lucky! And did you miss the glass floor at the CN tower? Can't wait to see your roadtrip!!

I absolutely love Toronto! Coming from the US, I was expecting Tim Horton's to be magical because all of my Canadian friends missed Tim Horton's so badly. When I had it, I was very underwhelmed. But that aside, I absolutely love Canada and the Canadian people. Would live there in a heartbeat. Looking forward to seeing more of your Canadian adventures.

Tim Horton was bought by an American company a few years back so it is no longer Canadian. In the 1970s, all my friends wanted the "making donuts" job at Tim Horton even if early. What made Tim Horton "Tim Horton" were the " made every two hours from scratch ( dough rising) donuts' deliciousness. Made on location in front of you. Since an American conglomerate company bought Tim Horton, most Tim Hortons no longer make the donut from scratch at their location. So the donuts did loose their deliciousness. And the donut selection is smaller than in the 1980s.

In Canada … Halifax, Cabot Trail, Hope Well Rocks or somewhere on the Bay of Fundy, Old Quebec City, Montreal, Niagara Falls, I think Welland canal is a must see (viewing station/museum lock 4), Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Dawson Creek, Whitehorse, Dawson City and on … the Alaskan Ferry is a great way to travel down and see places in Alaska like Juneau, Ketchikan, but you need to book early and you can get off along the way to final point at Prince Rupert. MAPS maybe could buy one at CAA or Chapters.

Love the excitement guys! I'm a Tim's fan, but always get the dark roasted, which is stronger, with only cream, no sugar! Poutine is great, and you must try it again in Montreal to compare. As well, try a Beavertail - either the original or the Killaloe Sunrise which you find in Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa...almost every city. It is basically fried dough, but a yummy treat! Great video! - Coreen

Very well done! Regarding Tim Hortons, it's true that it's super popular and known for coffee. It's not because it's the best coffee though, but because it's quick, convenient, high caffeine content, inexpensive, and you don't have to go far to find an outlet. Canadians that want a great cup of coffee will go to their favourite independent cafe. So Tim Hortons is mass market/low price point. The Double Double is gross imo but other items are much better. Try the iced cap (its a coffee smoothie), Timbits, and/or a sandwich.

EY....hello fellow alumni!jjjj Regarding Tim Horton's...yes they're a symbol of Canada, but there coffee turned to crap when they switched suppliers about 10 years ago. No self-respecting Canadian coffee lover would drink their coffee now, so your reaction was bang on (even if you were being diplomatic in your response).
I loved your response to the housing styles in Toronto. We North Americans take it for granted. My son had a friend visit this summer from Mexico. She made the exact same comment. She couldn't get over the roof lines. It just goes to show that we all admire things that are different than we are used to. I can't wait for the opportunity to check out Belgian architecture.

Maps are hard to find in Canada but try Indigo (a large book store chain). There's one in the Eaton Centre and another at Bay and Bloor. Canadian Tire might sell maps too. It's a big box store that sells a wide variety of products: auto, camping, sports, plants, hardware, paint, household items, tools, even snacks. They may have maps near the cashiers. And feel free to ask advice about places to go across Canada. I've been to all 10 provinces. Know a few of them pretty well.

I just discovered your channel couple days ago, looking forward to catching up on your travels.
As for Toronto, it was a good thing you were not driving. The greater Toronto are is horrible to drive in, tons of traffic and construction.
Not all Canadians like Tim Hortons. Its parent company is not actually Canadian, I think it is the same company as Burger King.
Toronto and its surrounding area have tons of green space, walking trails, lakes and that sort of stuff.
Foxes are common, beautiful and are a good rodent control.
    Good video

In Quebec, poutine is typically made with lighter gravy, usually chicken. Not beef.

For maps, maybe try Amazon... When you get to Vancouver, you'll find lots of wild life in residential areas - racoons, skunks, and yes even black bears...

I live north of Detroit and not far from Canada, so we have a bunch of Tim Hortons here. It is OK, and I get the double cream with sugar free flavoring. But Toronto is traditionally a place for Detroit people to go for a weekend trip for theater. I saw Phantom of the Opera there many years ago.

Loved your excitement seeing a school bus. Too bad you can’t get a ride in one. That’s an experience. You will start seeing people in converted busses soon! Also, driving 8 hours and not seeing much is pretty typical in North America. 😂

A double-double is usually two cream (not milk) and two sugar. That said, it's pretty sweet for most people's tastes. Don't judge Tim's coffee based on that.

@@NaickKim because of the homeless problems, there are chances that vans get broken into. Places like downtown Seattle, Portland and even San Fran. Just make sure to park where there is security.
