I Climbed For 14 HOURS in London To Find the BEST BOULDER

- When London Climbing Centres asked me if I’d like to explore London through their 8 Centres Challenge, it struck me, I’ve really not climbed in or seen that much in London, my capital city and home to some thirty-six bouldering gyms.

Exploring London using indoor bouldering as my map sounded like a great way to fix that, and to practice my climbing at the same time.
For this bouldering adventure with London Climbing Centres, we’d have just twelve hours to climb in all 8 LLC locations across the city.
Powered by the partners of this video, Tenzing, we took on a full day of climbing to determine the best boulder on offer in the city, covering dynamic comps style blocs and crimp test pieces in every corner of the map.
As we progress through the gyms, we get to climb some interesting boulders, explore some great gyms, chug lots of Tenzing and meet many of the wonderful characters that make up the LCC community.

Noticed that lately Hannah been a lot more decisive with higher commitment moves. Pretty nice to see.
Such a relief to hear that Ollie is colourblind. I am too, and I always find that climbing centres put blue and purple problems near to each other. It is however a good conversation starter, and I always laugh about it.
For me the perfect boulder looks almost impossible at the first try, but then after some work it becames not easy, but possible to climbing with good flow
Matte, come and visit us in the UK and we can all go to London and do the challenge and our very own side quest to find the perfect boulder :)
@@mariaclaudiacaiazza7475 we definitely should!
I live in Canada and don't think I'll be going to London any time soon, but this was such a fun video! Loved seeing so many different gyms and how unique a lot of the buildings are!
Always a good day when a new video is out! Loved this one 😊
20:19 i've never seen a more instant case of "instant karma" :D aboslutely golden!
It did make me giggle for a long time haha :)
Brilliant to see my local, Croywall featured. It doesn't get super busy like some of the central London ones, and has just more space compared to arches. More UA-camrs should visit!
Really want to go and climb in London now 😂 thank you Hannah :) it was fun to get to see you climb !!! 💕
Great video as always. The thumbnail on this one is really good.
Glad you think so ☺️
And another great video. The thumbnail is great. I benefit from how you solve the boulders. Sometimes I have an idea as to how I can move forward with my unresolved projects.
That's great to hear - glad you enjoyed :)
Wow! London has so many good gyms, up here in Scotland it requires a bunch of travelling but there's also some great gyms if you are willing to add in a road trip to part of it too.
I've not explored much of Scotland's gym offering - I'd love to though. I hear TCH may be opening there very soon :D
@@hannahmorrisbouldering Yiyas just said the gyms there are good and then you're interested in one of the biggest climbing gym chains opening a spot, sheesh
I'm an ambassador for TCH!@@benmark2353
I'm an ambassador for TCH, it's my local, so I'm kind of into it :)@@benmark2353
crimpy blue was a personal favourite from behind the camera, though I wouldn’t have minded a go at the eventual winner too, on a brave day :)
such a fun and inspiring video. much love
Thank you so much!
The 'instant karma' moment at 20:30 was brilliant
Looks like I now need a trip to London 🤣 - Thanks for the vid Hannah 👍
London has so many great places to climb 🤩🤩
Loved the video! I've been going to VauxWest maybe 4-5 days a week for about the last 6 months, but have never tried any of the others... They change a set of boulders at VauxWest every week so it keeps fresh and in the mornings anytime between 9 and midday the place is pretty quiet. Its a great location just near Vauxhall tube station.
Perfect! Going to London in January, now I know where to climb 😍
Have fun! London has tons of great walls :)
Love to see canarywall (my gym) getting some attention for its weird in train arch climbing, though shame nothing from the off-pieste section, which usually has some interesting climbs
It’s a cool gym. Hopefully we’ll get to go back and try more of the boulders soon 🙌
Haha same here! I love travelling around and trying gyms, so I can feel you :)
Love the thumbnail!
EustonWall is great but the grades feel pretty stiff compared to the other LCC centres :)
Would love to see you back up in Leeds doing something similar!
That would be cool!
Cool idea, only been to a couple of these myself
In my hometown I sometimes have these "oh wrong card" - "so you are climbing at the competition?" moments :'D Variety is really important to climbing and thus are various climbing gyms.
Question - have you climbed at either of the Font climbing centres (Borough or Wandsworth)? Love your videos!
Not yet! We'd love to though :)
That red slab at vauxwall east looks terrifying but you crushed it!
For me the perfect boulder is one where I can complete it after a reasonable number of tries and I feel it's taught me something new - be it movement, route reading, confidence or something else
Love that. That's what I enjoy too - a puzzle at a good challenge level that I climb a little better and smoother each time :)
great video :P
Glad you enjoyed
The perfect bloc for me is one that takes about 8-10 attempts with big dynamic, pumpy moves up and over a barrel or out of a roof. A set that we can all attempt as a group and certainly not flash but conquer over time, which then brings us together while also allowing us to hone our individual skills.
Oh no you missed Castle Climbing Centre which is probably one of most interesting climbing spots in all London with intersting history; and one of the oldest too.
It's on the list - it's not an LCC wall though so not on the itinerary for this day. I've heard good things
Would love you to try lead climbing there :)@@hannahmorrisbouldering
I get down to London 3-4 times a year just do work through the climbing centres they have there.
They have so many cool gyms! 🤩
I miss that blue one from croy
Banger :)
Hannah, which gym had the best corgi policy?
Mile End has a nice climbing gym
Rating EVERY LondonWall Climbing Centre in 1 DAY. HarroWall wins imo just on shear size alone it’s a cut above the rest. Do the Spider franchise next please!
That would be fuuuun! Yep, have been to Harrow a few times since and it's enormous. We really like it there :)
@@hannahmorrisboulderingI set aside a whole day and still didn’t have enough time to explore all. Slight downside is it’s the most distant from the South.
I’m sure that’s the first time I’ve heard “is that an Alpaca?” in a HMB video😊
And perhaps the last!
I did the challenge by bike over the summer - climbing shoes fell off my bag strap inbetween Eustonwall and Harrowall along the canal so if anyone's holding onto them let me know
Nooooo, what a sad story :(
I need to climb in london now!
I recommend 😅
unlike Hannah, if you make a trip to London to see a bunch of climbing walls you don't have to limit yourself to a single chain, you aren't making a sponsored climbing video you know.
Working with partners on videos is how I make my income and this one was working with LCC to showcase their gyms - I wasn't suggesting that you have to stick to a single chain. :)
Another great vid. but the tenzing ads are a bit intrusive...
The video was supported by Tenzing and I tried to be creative with how I integrated the brand so it didn’t distract from the content. ☺️
Why would she turn down the money
😍Hannah
whERE DO YOULIVE?
We live in our van, so ALL over the place :)
@@hannahmorrisbouldering THATS COOL!

Meh, stronghold still has the best setting
I've never been :)
Don't get greedy on the ads
This channel pays both mine and Nathan's wages, full time, plus freelancers to help us out creatively. It's not greed, it's us trying to sustain our careers whilst covering expenses and making free content that we wouldn't be able to give the time to creating if we didn't work with brand partners.
If I were motivated by money and greed, I'd be in a different industry.
