I faced this same with my s8+ and i think its the problem with all s8+ devices. My phone was working absolutely fine until i started facing this and finally switched to note10. I m a bit disappointed that samsung phones which are known for their displays will have display problems. I keep my phones like a baby. This was the first ever phone to have a infinite display .
I've had my s8 for about a year and half ...I keep my screen on a little less then half. I watch UA-cam alot ...but I have no burn in. My screen looks good as new.
Means you're lucky and you have a display that refuses to turn off when it uses black and decides to actually create the color black. You could say your display is a defect display since it's not doing what it was intended to do but those displays are literally gold. My old s8 had the same type of display so literally had no burn in no matter how much youtube I used, but once I upgraded to the s9 plus it now has a bar at the bottom and the top of my display due to youtube.
In settings-display at the bottom there's "screen saver" I ran the screen saver around 80% brightness as my phone charged for a year or so . I never had burn in until I turned the screen saver off because it would slow my charge time and create lots of heat. Now my keyboard is visibly a tint of red on white pages. I'm running the screen saver now for a full charge cycle on 100% brightness to see if it helps and will run the screen saver a couple times. I will comment my results hopefully having something helpful to contribute for people with more mild burn in.
I have had a note 8 going in almost a year and I dont have this issue. That's because I dont turn my brightness on max and stay on the same apps for long periods of time. I keep my brightness like around 35% or below. My screen is still the same as when I first bought it.

just reduce ur brightness and avoid staying on a bright page or the same page for mins. Its sucks but i use a dark plan black theme on my phone and im a heavy user i see i very minute layer of red... but again my phone's battery cycle crosses 1100 already or higher.
Same btw use blue filter, the galaxy s8 has strong red so overtime they get to fade faster than the blues. I also have burn in. Samsung needs to fix this, but love that these devices will last a long time.

@@1pancake142 It's an OLED so the glass is fixed to the display panel afaik, and is too delicate to remove. The good news is that since you are replacing it (if you do it yourself), it doesn't matter if it breaks when you try to take it off

these fones are rubbish..brought one other mnth, had nothin but troubles with it...including constant green dot on pics...zooom on them are horrible and grainy/blurry. no sharpness at all. my old s4 is way better for pics.

Samsung covers this until two years and will give you a free screen replacement aslong as you have a valid warranty.
These apps will only degrade your pixels more. They do remove the burn, by also burning your entire screen so that it won't be noticable.

Hi, I had the same problem with my phone. Samsung A30. Goto Settings, Display and remove Eye comfort shield and No more red screen. Hope it helps.
