      Me too, I've been using galaxy phones for 5 years now (I've had 3 different generations) and every time after 6 months, the battery becomes embarrassingly bad. I got my s8 and I'd literally only charge it at night and now the battery drains within a couple hours of LIGHT usage, if I'm heavy using it I can go through a full charge in less than 2 hours. This has happened with every galaxy phone I've owned, and every time I think "surely they'll fix this problem on the next phone" but they never do. Along with the battery, these phones also become significantly slower. My next phone is gonna be a new brand of flagship Android with my #1 priority being long-term battery life because this is getting sickening

    Yeah it really shouldn't be this complicated. My old galaxy s5 was also water resistant to the same depth as the my new galaxy s8 but the whole back could be removed in an instant.
    Now that I have to replace the headphone jack I am a bit peeved that its this hard to take off the back of it. This will be the first time I needed to do it, and the s8 back looks much more slick than the s5 back, so there are pros and cons to it.

    1. Use a fair amount of heat.
    2. Use a playing card, it is the perfect size and removes the adhesive almost perfectly.
    3. When replacing the cover, reheat the glass while it is on and you will get much better adhesion. Also the black adhesive waterproofing will adhere much better and not push the cover back out.
    Take your time and use the heat to your advantage.

  • @elizamay6402
    @elizamay6402 5 років тому +3

    Too many shots of knuckle instead of focus, "put heat on for a minute or two" -- is it one or two minutes, one is twice as long as the other! RECORD the heating as you do it! Last, hard to trust instructions that tell you you must have the phone off, yet when it restarts during process you do not shut it off again. I stopped watching there.

      N8-HIGH , the back of the Samsung Galaxy 8/8s is not meant to be removed by the customer, only a trained technician should attempt.

    Thanks for the video. I wasn't sure if it was clips with a waterproof seal or adhesive. Your video told me. Advice to you and your viewers... reheat the phone periodically as you spudge it off.
