- If you’re looking to apply for a Schengen visa (tourist visa for Europe), then this video covers everything you need to know as an Indian applying for a Schengen visa in 2022. I cover what the Schengen visa is, different types of Schengen visa, how and where to apply, the list of documents you need to submit to get your visa, the visa fee for the Schengen visa, and I’ve also tried to answer some of the questions you guys sent me on Instagram and some general tips for the Schengen visa. This is my fourth time applying for a Schengen visa in four years, so hopefully, this information I’ve shared based on my experience with VFS and the Schengen visa is useful and if you have any more questions, let me know in the comments!

I had gone through the process but that was way back in 2019 when I visited Switzerland, I will be applying for Schengen visa again before the end of this month (March 2023). Hi @kritika could you please suggest a less expensive website than 'visa reservation' for flight itenary?? Few websites provides tickets having less validity eventually risk to visa application I am afraid!
Your video is so informative Kritika ❤️ Even I got Schengen visa three times and my bank balances are stated below:-
For Italy (2019) I had 1L (8 days), Swiss (2020) 93,000/ (9 days), France (2022) 1.2L (9 days).
I try to keep 10,000 per day per head basis and that works.
(All documentation I do by myself)
Where do you have to show 1 lakh or more? In your savings account? I mean daily account that we use? I am living in Belgium past many years...thus I dont need any visas . But in case if I have to invite my brother to visit, would like to know about it. Thanks
@@Mrtribru69 I show my salary cum personal savings account. One thing keep in mind donnot transfer any bulk amount in your bank within 3/6 months of appointment. And a constant expenses from your account.

@@SanskaarANDSaini yes, I paid 28000 round (Delhi to Milan) before COVID. You can use credit card to book your flight tickets.
Few suggestions:-
1) avoid applying France until you are married
2) book full refunable tickets
3) show itinerary in one country only (after visa you can change)
4) show a tight bond with India in covering letter itself like property documents or good job or marriage certificate etc.

I booked visa appointment for Germany and took travel insurance from VFS site only so in the document it states Germany.. now flights were cheaper to Paris so I am planning to fly through Paris.. is it possible to enter from Paris and still get my visa and will the travel insurance be valid across?

I am actually contemplating about a change of destination since a lot of articles over the internet boasts lately about the non availabilty of appointment dates specifically for the Schengen short stay Visa , post the 1st of July until furthur notice as quite a lot of applications (20,000 to be precise) are pouring in each day at the embassy which is making it quite tedious for them to process.Also there is an uncertainty in procuring the visa before your estimated date of departure since as we are running the risk of losing money over confirmed flight and hotel bookings for the visa.

I got a visa for 30 days.So does that means i can travel anytime in that duration?Also what all documents will i need to show

Can we submit 2 visa application groups one from Canada for me and one for my husband from India and provide the same proof of fund?

Hey, I have filled in the place of submission as mumbai while filling in the form for France visa on its website. But now I am not finding a slot for appointment in Mumbai. With this application can i book a slot in any other place in India or should I change my visa application( which is to be taken from France visa website) according to the place where I am finding a slot?

For train travel,certain countries like Croatia,Hungary,Slovenia do stamp your passport but they simply check the visa and stamp it!
Oh I can see why Croatia would because it’s not a Schengen country but I’ve not heard of it in Hungary and Slovenia
I travelled by car, with Belgian friends ( I am Indian living in Belgium) through Slovenia to Croatia few years back. Only at Slovenia, Austria border they checked my passport.

Visa duration depends on the travel plan submitted during the visa application. To keep it simple, the travel dates decide the visa duration.

Hey Kritika, they courier passport to the adddress mentioned in your passport or one can put another communication address?
The one you fill in the form so it doesn’t have to be the same as your passport
do you need airline tickets of all the places that you are visiting or just the in and out flight tickets to schengen are.
example -
I am going to norway in march and then netherlands and then spain and back to india
so do I need to show flight tickets for norway to netherlands and netherlands to spain as well?
or just india to norway and spain to india
Just in and out should be enough but if you have the domestic flights booked too, you can always include that as well but they just want to see when you’re leaving the Schengen region and that you have tickets

Is there any country which a better visa approval rate (less strict) with minimal documentation ?
I had 3 schengen visas in the past yet this year got my first rejection from Netherlands.
I think i know the reason ( showed long duration travel insurance) however Im planning to wait until next year and apply to some other destination.
Never apply trough NL, go through France or Spain. Fortunately I don’t need visa but when I was processing for few of my close friends who are happen to be from India they find it easier and quicker. Plus India enjoys very warm relationship with France and hence chances of rejection are very less and bonus point you might get 3 Months plus multiple entry through France
