It is considered a matter of personal liberty by many, and in the US, a large population of motorcyclists fall into the category of conservative-nationalist. It gets a little confusing unless you understand the political landscape here. Many such folks believe the government should have little power over personal decisions like wearing motorcycle helmets or seatbelts.
A few days ago, I saw a guy in a car pass on a double yellow line and you know what I did? Not a damned thing, because I’m not a cop, and it had nothing to do with me. That whole episode with the two dinkuses on the groms was ridiculously unnecessary. Mind your own friggin’ business. And really, taunting the guy and running away? All you need is a couple dried coconut halves and a traveling minstrel, and you’re Sir Robin, who bravely ran away.
He chickened out he buggered off :)

I used to live in South Africa and riding there is a whole ‘nother level. The place is so dangerous that people are super highly strung in urban areas/cities. This, coupled with a plethora of other challenges in the country, leads to people taking their rage out on the roads with one another. It’s easy to sit back and judge the way he rides but in this rider’s case I sort of sympathize with his behavior to an extent. I’ve calmed down a hell of a lot on the roads riding since I moved

TrevorDane not all bikers do that, and it’s the fact that we don’t like the thought of knowing that if something happens and we hit the breaks, there’s a high chance of the person behind us not noticing and hitting us. If it were two cars, it wouldn’t be as bad, but imagine someone in a truck or car doing 50 smashing into the back of you, you have no roof or walls to protect you from going flying. I’ve been hit a few time, and the one serious time was when a guy in a ram smashed into me at 80is mph and completely destroyed my bike and nearly killed me. Trust me, if you were on a bike and saw someone get really close to you, you’d definitely be a little scared

i mean, sometimes on really hot days i take mine off just to let my head breathe, lol. the airflow when moving is the key so i putt along in residentials at like 30 kmh or so. never with traffic though, these guys are idiots. the old dude is hilarious. i need a better summer helmet if anyone has any recommendations.
