    Steven lavimoniere , recently did some work in my sons house on a gas boil. We had once before had some work at my son’s house. he replaced the pressure release valve and expansion tank. I would highly recommend him. He does very good work. I give him five stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    I put in two Utica macs heat house and hot water 💦 96 percent. Eco pump etc . Had two call backs. Utica is giving us a new boiler cause they want the old one back two years old old hwh heat exchanger leaking. But I think it’s not designed to go down bumpy roads. If you can’t trust Utica? Go back to steam boilers when it was simple

      I have a well holding tank that had no pressure 5 years ago and the well guy told me I'd need a new one soon but he added some air to get me by.
      Fast forward 5 years and I've added air about once every two years and it's still working fine. No leaks. The bladder inside is still good. Still works fine.

    • @paulroggemann1017
      @paulroggemann1017 8 місяців тому

      If it's FINE, it would not be losing air.

    • @josephkober3324
      @josephkober3324 8 місяців тому

      Its because the water well guys know which direction to mount the damn tank bladder at the top so you can add air to it to push the water out of it.Of course it will work just check the air pressure occasionally..
      @@PianoRevisited

    • @PianoRevisited
      @PianoRevisited 8 місяців тому +1

      @@paulroggemann1017 What I mean is the tank is WORKNG FINE as long as I add air once every year or two. You are right that it is not perfect. The well water holding tank has two components: the tank itself which holds air and maintains a certain pressure on the bladder inside. The bladder holds about 12 gallons of water. The bladder emptying slowly spares the pump from cycling on and off constantly. Having had these well tanks for over 40 years I know what the signs of a bad one are including rapidly fluctuating water pressure when taking a shower. There are two fatal flaws that would necessitate replacing the tank. If the bladder develops a leak then water will leak out filling the metal tank ( no hollow sound when tapping on it ) the bladder would collapse and you'd get the rapid pump cycling. Also the tank would likely leak shortly,. Also if the tank had a large enough air leak that it could not maintain pressure on the bladder then replacement would be needed. In my case, the air leak from the tank is so slow/small that adding some air once every year or two maintains enough pressure so that everything operates FINE.
      I'd compare it to a tire that you need to add some air to once a year to maintain the proper pressure. Would you replace the tire if everything else about it was fine ? I wouldn't.

      @mjg263 7 місяців тому

      @@serg2057 nope, it’s threaded into the bottom fitting of a Taco air scoop. Automatic vent is threaded into the top fitting of the air scoop. I installed the whole system in December of 1997, so I guess it’s a little over 20 years old actually.

  • @josephkober3324
    @josephkober3324 8 місяців тому +1

    i am a retired stationary engineer and watch your videos often .I notice all the time that the new HVAC guys continue to mount these expansion tanks upside down with a vent at the top ???? Worst design ever! if the bladder gets a slow leak all the air goes right out the vent .If it was turned the other way it wouldn't even need a bladder the air would be contained at the top of the tank. If the bladder did go bad you could just add air to the top of the tank and it would push the water out. The tank manufacturers must love this mounting method they are selling new tanks all the time . If you look at UK sites it shows these tanks mounted the other way connection at the bottom. I guess they may be smarter than us .
