I do miss the old time plumbers, getting the joint perfectly hot, touching the solder stick, and just watching the joint suck up the solder. No, come to think of it, watching them, after trying it myself many times, they just ticked me off. I did like watching someone who was good at it though. I was doing some phone work on the second floor of Bldg. 140 on Selfridge, and a plumber was installing a boiler system. He was good.
They don't make them like they used to. These used to be the best tanks around but I don't use them anymore. I use the superstore tanks by triangle tube
@@MiHeatingGuy I just took delivery of this same model under warranty. It’s replacing my original one of 24 years that is just starting to leak at the outer shell casing. Sadly I don’t think this one will last anywhere near 20 years. Time will tell. I think I better install it with quick disconnects in case it fails much sooner than later. Lots of labor in repiping it all.
Speaking of camera work I had to stop watching until I took some Dramamine I got sea sickness, just kidding. I'm stupid HVAC tech from Southern California as far as I know no one out here does boiler work. I was just wondering is that a heat exchanger for domestic hot water and air heating. Just asking put more videos out there, always great. Thanks

Cutoffs are golden 😊
Mine was new in 7/2021. Replaced again in 3/2023. Leaking again same as yours for a third time, 5/2024!

The original tank was installed 11/2001, fyi.
Solder joints at the top???? Could be the heat during install. The new ones have a huge red warning sign to not apply heat to fittings.
no i used press fittings

Great job as always! That plastic thermo bracket is still haunting me. Painful. lol
Not sure
Unions, a shop vacuum and a level would prove to be useful tools on return jobs, especially if your the guy going back….
nice job done.
What are the chances that the manufacturer actually fixed the cause of this issue?

You didn't go into detail for connecting the low voltage wires.
Do you grow a scraggly beard to make up for being bald? Just curious.
