Just wanted to say thank you for creating these videos. You have been a huge help with cutting down on my stress and time wasted. Please keep up the good work. Take care.
I love your videos! Would you mind adding a quick comment as to what the strategy is when you click on things, such as in this video, difference, or intersection, or even object to path?
Sir i want your help I am unable to convert text into object to path when I select and click on object to path it show that object is a layer so please help me sir
Thanks for all the really top quality and very informative tutorials you create - I've watched almost all of them! Hope you can help here with your extensive knowledge of the platform - I've looked everywhere for an answer and cannot find one... I am running v0.91 on Windows 64 bit. I have the 64bit version correctly installed. When I display the Text and Font dialog in order to change and select text fonts etc, not all of the fonts display correctly in the preview section of the dialog, so I need to click apply before I actually see the font as it is. This doesn't happen for all fonts, but it's really annoying - any ideas what this may be or how to stop it from happening? All advice gratefully received. Cheers!!!!!!
Hey Paul, I actually had this happen to me too with one particular font I had installed. I don't know what causes it or how to fix it. Sorry. I would try the Inkscape forum. They're very helpful and knowledgeable.
Ok. So, no matter how many times I watch this, no matter how many times I try, no matter how much I make sure that I'm following this step by step... it simply is not cutting part of the E out. At best is cutting only around the line of the box that is drawn, and not taking the part of the element inside of the box. It leaves it looking very strange.
Remember that Nick made a copy of the box. This way we have one for the line (border) of the letter to make the difference; and the other for the inner part of the letter. I think that this is the key. I also spent certain time to understand that but I managed to do the job. Regards.
Im getting exactly the same thing. I have ensured that I have duplicated the box before selecting the E, and still nothing happens except the line of the box disappears where it crosses the E. Did you find a solution to this, and if so what am I missing? Thanks
+Rebecca Adjei You'd have to export it as a raster graphic first. Just select the entire graphic, then go to File > Export Bitmap, then take the .png file it gives you and click and drag it into Word
Hi Thank you for your time for this tutorial. I tried it a hundred times and can't get it to work. Every time I get to the point where I have to select the S with The Shift and click on differences my S disappear. Kan someone tell me what I do wrong?
Hi, I use Inkscape 1.3. After I have installed font, when i transform object to path its run, but when I try to divide objects don't run...the letters remains joined. 😒
+qodhi zaka Thanks. I never intended to have those colorful icons. They automatically appeared once I started using the Ardis icon set. I don't think there's a way to get that on Windows, though.
You can't import fonts into Inkscape. You'll have to install them on your system, and the next time you open Inkscape it will be there for you to use. Just open the font file and there should be an "Install" button somewhere.
Just follow the instruction on How you can install your font to your desktop or laptop from this post here www.groovypost.com/howto/install-fonts-windows-10/. before you can find this particular fonts via inkscape. Hope this help.
Just a quick line to show gratitude for the selfless service you provide. Your tutorials are fantastic. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad to help.

Install 0.92 and see if you get the same problem
When I click linked offset then try adjusting the node nothing happens until I’m past a certain point where it’s too big to look good, any ideas?
How do I put a cool background like you had on the thumbnail and the beginning of the video?

Make sure E appers once.
Same issue..
I’m assuming the reason you asked to download the specific font was because not all fonts can be intersected like this?
Correct. Any thin font will work though.
Hey nick, how do you import your creations into... say a Word document? Thanks!
+Rebecca Adjei You'd have to export it as a raster graphic first. Just select the entire graphic, then go to File > Export Bitmap, then take the .png file it gives you and click and drag it into Word
You can use CTRL+C in Inkscape and CTRL+V in Word.
Might be a silly question but the blue and opacity are not clickable when I click edit objects. Any ideas why?
