This is heartbreakingly beautiful. I grew up listening to it over and over and over. I had no idea it would be so prophetic. If only Karen could have let somebody love her before it was too late. But some people really just can't accept love. She was so gifted. And she was so loved. At least she is at peace now...and we have her beautiful music and the legacy she left.
I'm at a crossroads right now. BOTH the Eagles and the Carpenters' versions are timeless classics. They both choke me up, so they're both great. I like them both. There, I said it.😪
That's three favourite versions of this beautiful song ,Karen .Linda Maria Ronstadt &The Eagles I enjoy them all on seperate plays ,can't get too much of a good thing ✨🎶💃🏼💃🏻🕺😊👌✨🎶
Listening to her is hard. It’s hard because as fans we wanted so much and had no idea how she was struggling behind the beautiful music. I’ll never forgive how her mother treated her and the result.
Beautiful! Desperado. Why don't you come to your senses. You've been out ridin' fences for so long now. Oh, you're a hard one. But I know that You've got your reasons. These things that are pleasin' you. Can hurt you somehow. Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy. She'll beat you if she's able. The queen of hearts is always your best bet. How it seems to me some fine thing. Have been laid upon your table. But you only want the ones if you can't get. Desperado. Oh you ain't gettin' no younger. Your pain and you hunger. They're drivin' you home, freedom' ah, freedom. That's just some people talkin' You're prisons walkin thru this world all alone. Don't your feet get cold in the winter time. The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine. It's hard to tell the night time from the day. You're losin all your highs and lows. Ain't it funny how the feelin' goes away. Desperado. Why don't you come to your senses. Come down from your fences, open the gate. It may be rainin' But there's a rainbow above you. You better let somebody love you (let somebody love you) You better let somebody love you Before it's too...late.
My 1975 vinyl, as well as my 2000 CD, both read “Drums: Karen Carpenter & Jim Gordon. On this particular album, musicians for each track are not spelled out, except for “I Can Dream Can’t I.” Writer Craig Kurtz, in June 2013, in “Perfect Sound Forever, seems to know. He recalls that, for “Dedperado”, Jim Gordon’s drumming is “a distraction.” Multiple sources have written that Jim Gordon was brought on board for “Horizon” for a more muscular sound. He also shows up for “A Kind of Hush” and “Passage.” If you know of a source that definitively credits Karen for drumming on “Dedperado,” Let me know! I would love to know that her excellent drumming ability included the heavy stuff on “Dedperado.”

Linda Ronstadt's version of Desperado brought me here. I'd always thought Linda's version was IT, that is, until I heard Karen sing this and my mouth just hit the floor. Karen totally gets inside this song and her warm tone is so disarming that exposes the character's vulnerability in Desperado. I hate to compare two iconic artists, but this round easily goes to Karen. Sorry, Linda
The Eagles did the original but the Linda Ronstadt cover is the classic version. I had no idea Karen covered it as well. I knew hers would probably equal or outshine all others. Her voice is pure magic.
J'adore cette chanson depuis 1977
what a golden voice it throws me back down memory lane. i love to hear this song .

Karen sings this so beautifully, such a soft and gentle person. Still missed. Think of her often.
Smooth as silk....the great Karen Carpenter! ❤

It’s OK to like both!

God knows how much I love Eagles.

For me this is a blessed gift.
Perfect voice for perfect song
Song from the best american group The Eagles needs the best white woman voice in the World...simply the Best in every art of Music.
No one can replace her voice
Listening to her is hard. It’s hard because as fans we wanted so much and had no idea how she was struggling behind the beautiful music. I’ll never forgive how her mother treated her and the result.
One of my favorite KC's song ever!
Hello 👋
참으로 아름다운 🌸 노래🎵 군요
Thanks you sir carpenters
What a Voice ... So Sad she went so early!
Calmness happens all of a sudden, every time I listen to this song...
Beautiful!
Desperado.
Why don't you come
to your senses.
You've been out ridin' fences
for so long now.
Oh, you're a hard one.
But I know that You've got your
reasons.
These things that are
pleasin' you.
Can hurt you somehow.
Don't you draw the queen
of diamonds boy.
She'll beat you if she's able.
The queen of hearts is always
your best bet.
How it seems to me
some fine thing.
Have been laid upon your table.
But you only want the ones
if you can't get.
Desperado.
Oh you ain't gettin' no younger.
Your pain and you hunger.
They're drivin' you home,
freedom' ah, freedom.
That's just some people talkin'
You're prisons walkin thru
this world all alone.
Don't your feet get cold
in the winter time.
The sky won't snow
and the sun won't shine.
It's hard to tell the night time
from the day.
You're losin all
your highs and lows.
Ain't it funny how
the feelin' goes away.
Desperado.
Why don't you come
to your senses.
Come down from your fences,
open the gate.
It may be rainin'
But there's a rainbow above you.
You better let somebody love you
(let somebody love you)
You better let somebody love you
Before it's too...late.
The Queen of Hearts with a Song from the Best American Group....
La mejor versión de esta canción, simplemente.

I just love The Carpenters especially Karen Carpenter.
Wow chills.
Te amo 🙏🔥😋🌻🙋💙😊😼🔐😛😀💞🤪🙈☕🎉💋😚🎈😘🤩🥰💚💚🍰💜😍🙏🥳🙂🙃🍾🥂🍕💰
Love this
Reminds me of dancing with Rachel Verity at a "fete" (or more than one) in the 1970s aged 12 or so in Monsterrat WI. So innocent. So lovely.
J'adore la voix de Karen ! C'est la seule interprète qui me fait pleurer sur cette chanson
Pure simply pure
never knew she covered this song till now
I love both Karen cover and Linda Ronstadt cover...
💓💓💓👏👏👏...это волшебно...
Best Carpenters track ever. No oboe. No sticky sweet chorus. Karen at her finest.
Best interpretation of this classic… Karen’s drumming is impressive too
I believe Jim Gordon is the drummer on this track. He is the drummer on many of the tracks off the “Horizon” album.
@@tonyspathfinder liner notes on orig album say Karen-Desperado

Perfect😊, is that Spock's sister?
Anyone ever think of a digital duet with Don Henley?

Sorry, Linda
Someone who can tell me? This is original one,not th eagles?
The original is by The Eagles. It's also written and composed by the Eagles.
@@vinniemoran7362 not her? she sang before? or u have the eagles clip? tq
@@kantakechi she sings great, but this song belongs to Don Henley
