Matt, thank you so much for these maintenance recommendations. A little less than a year ago I bought this exact same model based on your review. As a complete novice to woodworking it was essential information. At some point in the future I will be adding the router table to the extension as well.

I'm waiting on Grizzly to restock this model and will then buy one. Thanks for your earlier review and these tips. Well done.

Keep in mind the saw comes with the gears already "greased" right out of the carton. Also, Grizzly recommends to use grease for gear lube!

Thanks for the video. I just bought this saw and am trying to adjust the fence so it slides freely. Any suggestions on proper adjustment? The instruction manual has very little information on adjustments.
On a side note, for people interested in buying this saw, I have been chatting with the Grizzly service techs in reference to some flat copper strapping that was between the trunnions and mounts. After sending pictures, they had no idea what it was. Turns out the copper was used as a thickness gauge during manufacturing and they left them in place! Very frustrating because I couldn't use the saw until I got word from Grizzly that it was ok to do so. If you buy this saw, plan on a few hiccups with the instruction manual, but its pretty straight forward.

Nice! I've been looking at this saw but am concerned about the quality of the aluminum fence.

Hey Matt, nice and informative. Do you use a thin kerf blade with this saw in combination with the standard riving knife?

The riving knife is .090", so you will have no issues running thin kerf blades. Most blades cut thicker than the stated kerf dimensions. This is due to the actual thickness of the blade, as well as any run out with the saw blade.

I have the same saw and now notice I have an alignment issue when raising and lowering the blade. I saw this video … ua-cam.com/video/ZvpvVYdhgJo/v-deo.html … and it’s exactly the same issue I have. Just wondering if you have noticed this issue?
