  • HO Railroad: Krause Lumber CO. In the beginning there was an empty store room that was in need of a model railroad. The previous shelving was used for the framework and roadbed. There are 2 cameras mounted at each end of the room and capture 1 picture every 30 minute.
While building the peninsula see that I added the 2x6 support joist with strong legs and removed the rickety leg. You would normally do the frame first and then the top but I needed the room to work so I added a work bench and then added the frame for the sub-roadbed.
There is 1 turn that is almost 3% grade but the remainders are very close to 2% grade.
The obstacles on the wall such as the breaker box, water lines and sewer lines made it hard to do a prototypical RR. Landscape and buildings will suffer as a result and I understand that.
More to come in future videos. Be sure to like and subscribe to see future videos of my progression.
The family history and the start of a replica of the mill site. There was no railroad at the Krause Lumber mill site east of Kalispell Montana. This is not a prototypical railroad and would be considered a toy train by many. The Krause Lumber RR is only for my enjoyment and only some of the buildings are representations of what once was there. The track design is with Anyrail and track control is with Arduino and DCC++ This is the first train track I have built and there may be changes in the future. Thanks, -Hal
