#5 Krause Lumber 6%
I watched videos of HO train tests and they say 2% is typical but I also saw very steep grades on club sites. I tested and found that I could climb an 8% slope with a locomotive. I needed to climb 14 inches in 20 feet so I took a chance and built a 6% slope. I have pulled 7 40' cars with a SD60M without rubber traction which was more than I needed. The switchback can only accommodate 4 40' cars and a locomotive. This track will mainly be for 40' skeleton log cars going into a forested logging operations. It is working for me. I hope you enjoy

#4 Honey Do HiRes
Переглядів 122 місяці тому
I have been away for a while. I worked on the Model RR when I have time. The last year I have learned and designed for and installed inferred sensors in over half of the RR. Today is about the other projects. (Honey-Do) In November or '23 we spent 5 weeks of our spare time removing popcorn ceiling and patching minor stress cracks in the perfatape. In April '24 we did the kitchen. This was a DYI...

HO Railroad: Krause Lumber CO. In the beginning there was an empty store room that was in need of a model railroad. The previous shelving was used for the framework and roadbed. There are 2 cameras mounted at each end of the room and capture 1 picture every 30 minute. While building the peninsula see that I added the 2x6 support joist with strong legs and removed the rickety leg. You would norm...

West Yellowstone Montana. I was going downtown when this white van decided not to stop at the red light. I was already in the intersection when my light turned yellow so it must have been red for them! Always keep your eyes on the road. Just a quick clip with no voice.

HO Railroad: Krause Lumber CO. In the beginning. Before the HO scale Model Train came the history of Krause Lumber. The purchase of the land that the White Pine Mill sat and the mill built by Krause Lumber in 1954. The family history and the start of a replica of the mill site. This is the beginning and the building of the model railroad is coming. There was no railroad at the Krause Lumber mil...
ST Anthony Quad Ride 8-18-2023

This is our first ride in the ST Anthony Sand Dunes. We were in Island Park and decided to rent a 4 Seat Can-Am Turbo 4x4 for 4 hours. We had not ever driven a ATV like this and were amazed how they ran. This is defiantly a bucket list adventure. Ryan was driving and I was filming. Not my best work of filming as I was hanging on the best I could. Ryan did the most of the driving but I did take ...

August 14 2010 Hiawatha Trail bicycle trip with 12 members of the Boomers Singles Group. We rode our bicycles 15 miles from Montana to Idaho going through 9 tunnels with one 1.6 miles long and 7 trestles with one that is 850 feet long and 230 feet high. This awe inspiring trip was a gentle downward slope which was a fun easy day bicycle trip that most beginners would be able to navigate.

I think this would be the coolest business to get into, watching elk antlers grow and listening to the bulls bugle.

I never seen anything like it. I didn't even think it were possible to get a wild bronc to go in any particular direction. Looks like a lot of fun. Wish I could watch such an event in person. Great sport and obviously no damage to the horses.
