I know I'm late to the party Big Nerdy, but I'm in 100% agreement with you on the exclusives. I feel like store exclusives should be color or design variants of established figures. Take for instance the current Jigsaw figure at Walgreens. He should have been part of a regular release wave (as he's an essential character for any fan of the Punisher, and hasn't had a figure since the Toybiz days), and then let's say that the walgreens variant could have been him in a Punisher outfit. That would have been a perfect way to release him. Hasbro gets to double dip, making them more money, fans have a reason to search for him at walgreens, and people who really want the character have a much greater chance of adding him to their collection.
I used that exclusive Punisher figure (with the vest) as my alt costume for Jigsaw. The ragged skull on his body armor makes him resemble the tattered imposter costume that the Toybiz face-off Jigsaw had.

I don't know. I have the pizza and Retro Spideys along with the Far From Home and the '01 Toy Biz Spidey with Gargoyle Ledge. Of the group, the FFH Spidey is my least favorite in terms of both paint application as well as articulation. I gave him a black wash, put his web hands on, and sat him on a Funko shelf with his hands up in the air like he's at a rock concert.
There’s always been that one figure that EVERYONE loves, but I think it’s incredibly overrated! That figure is the Monster Venom BAF. I’ve always felt like that figure didn’t really deserve all the praise it gets. The back piece of the figure always pops off when I try to move the arms, and I also really don’t care for the rerelease either.
I’m hoping to death that I either find the Worthy Captain America for a reasonable price or that Hasbro makes a newer and better one. But who knows. Living on a prayer for this one.
Walgreens actually has 9,021 locations in The US, as where Walmart has 4,756 and Target has 1,868...... if you're major talking point is there that aren't that many locations at least poke around google. Just saying.

Interesting that you don't have a Walgreens near you. Driving from my grocery store, to my house, to my work, which is about 6 miles of driving, there is literally 7 different Walgreens I can pass (no more than four in any particular trip though-- and within 6 miles of my zip code there are 12 different Walgreens, there are 30 within 10 miles of my zip code and 78 within 20 miles ) but I live in the Midwest and as far as I know of, we never received the Moon Knight figure at any store in our area.
Where can you find Juggernaut wave Rogue for $55? It's at least $60 loose on Mercari or other self-sales sites. I just got mine loose for $56, but that was after talking it down from $65. Amazon is selling them for over $200! That is definitely overrated!

Well, Nerdzoic, I have become a fan. I wont disagree with any of your selections. Some of the prices are ridicuous, considering how new some of them are. And as for the Walgreen exclusives, I finally got a Walgreen within `10 minutes from my house, but they dont get anything in. Right now, there are exactly 2 Black Widows from her unreleased movie, 2 Emma Frost exclusives and 2 Hydro Man figures. Thats it. For someone that cant get out like most and doesnt have a lot of extra spending cash, secondary markets are the worst arch villian for any collector. Oh well.... Thank God for the occasional yard sale.

What about 80th Hulk? That thing is garbage. Deformed feet, short and small legs, too round of shoulders, too big upper body. 80th Hulk is a complete mess.
I kind of agree with this list but you got to make this list based on just the hype. Not the overprice. I agree that the Retro Spider-Man is a bit overrated. Especially since he has terrible neck articulation and does not come with wall crawling hands.

If anyone gets trigger over this list they have issues. All figures are overrated that sell above retail. Take the Cara Dune figure which is now selling up to $225 on eBay right now.
I love my Retro Spiderman, but if a Spidey figure is anywhere close to $100, I believe S.H. Figuarts or Mafex Spiderman would be much better choice. Even Yamaguchi Spidey would be worth it. Retro Spiderman is ONLY worth it if it's under $30. Those dang red pegs on his arms are an eyesore.

My question is, the one him and his mom brought me home last night was the one with the "white hot" or blood stained claws and the swap out head with no mask/helmet. - I thought it was supposed to have a build a figue piece but there want as much a a pair of socks. $72 for Strong Man? I know this might be blasphemy to all action figure collectors, but there is NO, ZERO, NOT EVEN ONE action figure that sells for retail at $20 - $25 that's worth paying $72 for at any point. Oh wait.....damn, I did pay $75 for my Classics Black Manta. Okay, scratch that. It's ONLY worth it if you're a die hard fan of the character, and you don't forsee anyone making a new figure of the character in the next 7-10 years.
Retro Spiderman was selling out instantly despite constant restocks. Big Nerdy acknowledges “everybody wants it” and that they are willing to spend $46 for him. He also states it’s the best Spiderman Hasbro has ever made; period! That is the exact opposite of being overrated. The best of anything that is universally sought can not be considered overrated. Spiderman is my favorite character and I bought everyone I saw.
Toyguru said Toybiz wasn't paying their tooling bills back then which is why they were able to afford to sell deluxe figures like Juggernaut as the same price point as a regular sized figure like Captain america and also why they were able to put giant BAF pieces at the same basic price. Remember the Legendary Riders wave? Yup same price as a basic figure.

Um...isn't this list actually 'The Most Over-Priced Marvel Legends ever'?? 'Overrated' has no intrinsic connection with price: overrated refers to 'figures routinely adored, beloved and singularly praised as being the BEST THING EVER, but they actually suck in real life'. None of the figures on this list fit that definition (well, maybe Worthy Cap). Mystique, Rogue, Fin Fang Foom, Sugar Man...these figures all kick ass. As to whether or not they are worth their current price on the secondary market...? Well, it's subjective. Personally, I'd shove Retro Rogue into over-rated AND overpriced. She's a repaint selling at double the price of a normal Marvel Legend, and is still widely available. If you want to deal with scumbag scalpers.
I think my definition of overrated is clearly different. To me overrated is something that everyone wants but is subpar in hand🤓 Dark Phoenix and Ahsoka, everybody wants herand while she does have a decent portrait the head is greatly limited. In the case of dark Phoenix it a pain body wit some paint and standard engineering. Ahsoka looks good wit the overlays but substandard engineering, feet are small and hindered making standing her a pain and the lack of articulation makes doing jedi posses an impossible nightmare. As character i understand their love but as figures they sux and that makes them overrated imo not they were hard to find out exclusive🤓 I don't think Fing Fang Foom is overrated i may not pay that much for him myself however given the size(specially for the time and even now) and the fact that he was not an "A" list character and a villain to boot (heroes take down big bad monster) i get it😎 Like I said my definition is clearly different.

Well, Nerdzoic, I have become a fan. I wont disagree with any of your selections. Some of the prices are ridicuous, considering how new some of them are. And as for the Walgreen exclusives, I finally got a Walgreen within `10 minutes from my house, but they dont get anything in. Right now, there are exactly 2 Black Widows from her unreleased movie, 2 Emma Frost exclusives and 2 Hydro Man figures. Thats it. For someone that cant get out like most and doesnt have a lot of extra spending cash, secondary markets are the worst arch villian for any collector. Oh well.... Thank God for the occasional yard sale.

What about 80th Hulk? That thing is garbage. Deformed feet, short and small legs, too round of shoulders, too big upper body. 80th Hulk is a complete mess.

@@Nerdzoic It's far and away the best ML Hulk. Not perfect, but they got a lot right, like the size, paint apps and head sculpt.
I kind of agree with this list but you got to make this list based on just the hype. Not the overprice. I agree that the Retro Spider-Man is a bit overrated. Especially since he has terrible neck articulation and does not come with wall crawling hands.

I love my Retro Spiderman, but if a Spidey figure is anywhere close to $100, I believe S.H. Figuarts or Mafex Spiderman would be much better choice. Even Yamaguchi Spidey would be worth it. Retro Spiderman is ONLY worth it if it's under $30. Those dang red pegs on his arms are an eyesore.

I'm die-hard lifelong Transformer guy but my 5 year old son bought me a Marvel legends Wolverine because I already had the one In the brown and yellow deco with the swappable "bearded" head. My question is, the one him and his mom brought me home last night was the one with the "white hot" or blood stained claws and the swap out head with no mask/helmet. - I thought it was supposed to have a build a figue piece but there want as much a a pair of socks. Did they just skip Ol' Logan all together or is that how they all are? Sorry for the long winded question buddy but if anyone knows it's you! I'm a big fan and my wife orders from your online store A TON!!!! P.S.- I know you said you didn't have much luck with Transformer but I order what I can from you as long as it's in stock. $72 for Strong Man? I know this might be blasphemy to all action figure collectors, but there is NO, ZERO, NOT EVEN ONE action figure that sells for retail at $20 - $25 that's worth paying $72 for at any point. Oh wait.....damn, I did pay $75 for my Classics Black Manta. Okay, scratch that. It's ONLY worth it if you're a die hard fan of the character, and you don't forsee anyone making a new figure of the character in the next 7-10 years.
Retro Spiderman was selling out instantly despite constant restocks. Big Nerdy acknowledges “everybody wants it” and that they are willing to spend $46 for him. He also states it’s the best Spiderman Hasbro has ever made; period! That is the exact opposite of being overrated. The best of anything that is universally sought can not be considered overrated. Spiderman is my favorite character and I bought everyone I saw.
Toyguru said Toybiz wasn't paying their tooling bills back then which is why they were able to afford to sell deluxe figures like Juggernaut as the same price point as a regular sized figure like Captain america and also why they were able to put giant BAF pieces at the same basic price. Remember the Legendary Riders wave? Yup same price as a basic figure.

Um...isn't this list actually 'The Most Over-Priced Marvel Legends ever'?? 'Overrated' has no intrinsic connection with price: overrated refers to 'figures routinely adored, beloved and singularly praised as being the BEST THING EVER, but they actually suck in real life'. None of the figures on this list fit that definition (well, maybe Worthy Cap). Mystique, Rogue, Fin Fang Foom, Sugar Man...these figures all kick ass. As to whether or not they are worth their current price on the secondary market...? Well, it's subjective. Personally, I'd shove Retro Rogue into over-rated AND overpriced. She's a repaint selling at double the price of a normal Marvel Legend, and is still widely available. If you want to deal with scumbag scalpers.

To me overrated is something that everyone wants but is subpar in hand🤓
Dark Phoenix and Ahsoka, everybody wants herand while she does have a decent portrait the head is greatly limited. In the case of dark Phoenix it a pain body wit some paint and standard engineering. Ahsoka looks good wit the overlays but substandard engineering, feet are small and hindered making standing her a pain and the lack of articulation makes doing jedi posses an impossible nightmare. As character i understand their love but as figures they sux and that makes them overrated imo not they were hard to find out exclusive🤓
I don't think Fing Fang Foom is overrated i may not pay that much for him myself however given the size(specially for the time and even now) and the fact that he was not an "A" list character and a villain to boot (heroes take down big bad monster) i get it😎
