Damn this is AWESOME! Personally I loved the both the prequels despite their flaws. I found them to be very intriguing. This short film has totally dragged me back into the Alien universe and damn it I want MORE!
I'm the same dude, super pumped. They were films that grew on me, I just love how the villain finally wins some!
@@V4demon_ 100% love the fact David won! It reinforces my fear of the I.A. in these films and for me, that is why I love the movies. The alien is amazing but predictable. The A.I. is creepy as they come & adds to real freak factor. I look forward to more intertwining of the bladerunner world with Alien

The ambience and the build up to the end really draws you into it, we need more films like this
Best line in alien covenant “He trusted me!” David is such an awesome character that he decided to embrace the most badass alien ever just to see it flawlessly enact it’s own nature. In a way he sees life forms that are truly themselves as the most complete species because they, unlike humans, know what there purpose is. David is a direct result of humans not knowing there own purpose, so he admires a species that accomplishes there purpose in the most efficient way possible with the best tools available. He sees xenomorphs as the organisms that best accomplish life’s greatest questions of “ Why am I here?” “ What is my purpose?”. David was designed to answer these questions. He found his answer.
He is such a well written and designed character that it is a shame that he is surrounded by characters who are lacking depth and development. Once I began rooting for David and began considering him the protagonist of the movies I found Prometheus and alien covenant so much more enjoyable and rewarding. Thank you Fassenbender for bringing such a complex and awe inspiring character to life with absolutely brilliant acting.
He could’ve checked the other room, where Dr. Elizabeth Shaw’s corpse is.
Also, if it is a sequel, wouldn’t the corpses of Oram and Cole be in there somewhere? Regardless, was awesome.
I'd totally be willing to see longer lower-budget films in the Alien universe similar to these short films as a way of continuing the franchise.

Would've loved to see actual Engineers creating and assembling Xenomorphs to be dropped in war torn world's like Scott originally stated before he took the movie in a completely messy absurd plot hole trash.

Okay that just settles it whoever is doing the next alien movie needs to be fired and be replaced with these guys I have never had a very good slow burn in a long time from moment to moment I was invested with the suspense and anticipation that's solely been missed in Hollywood horror nowadays
Man I wish this would continue in some fashion!!! The audio books are amazing and i enjoyed most of the shorts, and enjoyed this new short as well. There is a market for this material wish Disney would sell the rights to someone who wants to care for it like Oats Studios for example???...
Sounds likeDisney is probably going to be doing a reboot of the franchise...But if they could continue to release a few short stories to wrap up the storyline of Prometheus, and Covenant that would be awesome!
Hollywood has a pretty flexible definition of reboot sometimes so they might just be continuing the Prometheus/Covenant movies into new Alien movies rather then have them be prequels to the ones we already have.
This was really well made. If this was the first 10 minutes of a 2 hour Alien movie, where you had some guys tracking down the ship from covenant and like, passing by David's lab, I'd be fucking hooked. This was just awesome.
I really eenjoyed it actually makes me want to watch Covenant again which I did like even though it had its flaws

What we need is time, time to explore the rich mythology of Alien / Engineers/ Colonial Marines, and the machinations of the duplicitous Weyland -Yutani.
The only way to do this is with a GOT style series, I’m not expecting 8 series, just one would do (for a starter)
Give us some back story that works, stop trying to shoe horn a whole series worth of material into a film! We don’t care when characters die because we’ve only known them 10 minutes! If Covenant had been a series, we could’ve connected more to the characters and their back stories, same with Prometheus, instead, we get characters doing impulsive things, seemingly for no reason, when the reason is a) time restraints b) script c) running time.
We are now conditioned for serial length stories, GOT, Stranger Things, The Wire, etc... all different, but the joy is in the character development, the story arcs, the rich characters that are allowed time to breathe. Ridley Scott needs to see this is the way, people don’t want to have to traipse off to a cinema at an allotted time , they want to consume at their convenience ( well it is the 21st C) time to wake up and smell the coffee
Agree 100% they are messing up by not doing this as a series at this point.
Not sure if people realize, this set was NOT MADE, this is THE Covenant Set, that was used in the movie. They just did an additional small video in the same set ,we see here.

The sculpter around the 4 min mark in your vid reminded my instantly of the ORIGIONAL bad ass alien written about in the golden age of science fiction by writter and editor of Astounding Tales Campbell.His story "Who goes there"Was the movie later called "The Thing" in the 50's but never was the alien faithfully presented until the remake of the same name in 1982.I'm sure you can recall how the creature could morf into anything but was most terrifying in between forms.Other elements of the movie such as seclusion in the frozen,desolate north(cold,barren outerspace)a company or military station( space ship) ECT,ECT.. it is obvious Alien ALLWAYS has been a movie that owes much to Campbell's ORIGIONAL vision.I think the maker of this fan film knows this and that's something you should too.Try to visualize which monster you would be more afraid off ? A whole hive of Xenomorfs or a THING !!!

The more time and effort with bigger productions for awhile just don’t seem to have the same outcome really. Which I find is a shame. Especially and respectively franchises like Alien and Predator

Great quality production
How great is working for company where they impregnate their employees with a Xenomorph so they can make great strides in bioweaponry. I thought the concept of the aliens being developed by David was brilliant a lot of fans disagree, always wondered why the teeth were like metal, so that idea was logical. The Engineer’s were a good idea but poorly visualized, and hopefully that storyline can be explained in depth, but probably not because of the acquisition of Fox. This video looked Fan made, if so fantastic work, if not Zoinks , at the end of the day it’s still the same O same O Kane looking into egg, but with some sensory analysis. Always thought this obsession that Mr Yutani had was kinda like the end of the Original POTA’s where Taylor is told by Dr. Zaius , “You May not like what you find” and the ending is one of greatest conclusions to a movie ever . The Alien franchise is unfortunately in trouble, it’s just too toxic for today’s society and as far as the current storyline is concerned, it’s not a feel good movie by any means and that isn’t going to cut it with disney.

Very nice news indeed. I know you disagree with me, but I loved Prometheus. I like the premise with the Engineer race. The movie made me want to see a sequel right away. Was it an Alien movie...no, but I realy liked it. As far as a prequel or kinda new IP is concerned that is a win for me.I also love the Alien movies since childhood. For this reason Alien Covenant felt a bit off to me. I wanted answers about Prometheus but got an Alien movie instead. This gives me hopes for the final part. A long as Ridley is making it.
I wonder how long the Alien eggs can stay dormant 🤔

Engineered by the creators of man-kind I'd say they have an a lifespan longer than David's afterall it was just man who made David. Yes I know Weyland said David would never die but how sure could he really ever be if he himself would die one day?
My biggest issue with the prequels is the technology shown. We see this suit identify various things and display it to the wearer but in alien, set many years later there's no such thing.

It's good for the same reason Fury Road was good. It's all about attention to detail and atmosphere and letting whats going on tell the story rather then a bunch of dialogue telling you what's going on, it just pulls you in more that way.
This was good it makes me want the next prequel, Prometheus and Covenant were flawed but I still liked them for what they were.

Yer man...... theirs plenty of comic and book fiction to cherry pick from and get ideas, a Netflix or Amazon show, 45mins to hour long, would be cool, could start first series with an obvious space marines take, just too feel out the audience.
@@fourth1000 I get what you mean, but if thet can get over 5 series for zombie shows like walking dead, then I think they can do the same with aliens films, maybe even better, personally walking dead is a little hard to believe it's made for you not to pull on any loose strings, but alot if people love the show. Get some good story writers, some medium and large story arches I think it could be possible to create a credible series.

The way to resolve this mess and correct course is to have the Covenant turn around for some reason, crash killing off Daniel’s and Tennessee. Walter is still alive and finds Shaw in hiding...the one we saw in Alien Covenant could have been a clone. Ad back in the extended sequence we glimpsed in the short “The Crossing” and have the showdown with the true engineers and some brand new Xenos. There. Everyone goes home satisfied.
david is such a great villain for the alien universe, i really enjoy almost anything linked to that character.
Wonderful, the filler could have been cut down and replaced with more of the searching through the drawings to add depth with minimal detail and effort but still a great little film!

I absolute love ALIEN and PROMETHEUS and i like ALIENS and COVENANT. They should finish the prequel trilogy and then continue the story after ALIENS (2) completely ignoring Alien 3 and 4.

As much as Covenant was really ropy in the second half, I really want to see the story concluded. So many TV shows and film series get cancelled and they are left floating around in the void. A series of short films would be really nice to see it completed, and even nicer if Ridley Scott was one of the directors. Force him to work within some limitations - even purely visual - and there might be gold there.

really good. production quality seems relatively high. really recreated authentic feel of covenant and general alien franchise aesthetics and sounds.
I enjoyed the anniversary short films you mentioned. but, agree, they maybe didn't quite live up to what the trailer hinted at. maybe one or two did, but they did still have a look and feel of a fan film. this one, on the other hand, I couldn't tell for the most part from a full Hollywood feature film.
This has to be some time in the future, just because of the "known pathogen. But when and who?

As wonderful as these short films are, they are really diluting the franchise more. I heard Neil Blomkamp left Robocop to do a mysterious horror film.. he deserves a chance to save Alien I can only hope..
