For real? I feel like the Evertune’s not bad especially in my experience. Especially once it’s setup, then I never have to worry about tuning up and stuff it’s been super smooth for me. What part do you not like?
@@Bruddermane You can't really do drop tunings without losing the evertune effect on the lowest string. That alone wasn't really the problem since I knew about that beforehand. What annoyed me is that the Evertune never stays perfectly in tune. Sure ±5 cents isn't really a problem live, but in the studio you would not want that slight detune. And in that regard it's far more convenient for me to just tune normal tuning pegs than the Evertune. I don't say it's bad, that was just my subjective opinion. Ps: One cool thing you can do with the Evertune is playing a chord and give only one note of the chord a vibrato by vibrating your finger on the saddle.
If it's the same tuning you used the last time, you don't have to. If you go to another tuning, the worst part is not balancing the bridge, but intonating the guitar.
They dont last at all anymore which is a shame lmao.. elixirs have looked after me well for a while now tho. On guitars i play more theu still tend to last around 6-7 months if i use fast fret after every play and clean them. And for the extra say 5 quid i think its rly worth it🤘

Mostly, the dudes are blocking the system from the top. I saw a method here on YT, where he blocked it from below with some woodblock between the metal block and the guitar body. Of course, losing the springs a bit to keep the system perfectly aligned with the body squeezing the spacer to the body. Then he restringed it. Tuned it... once. and tightened the springs back until the "spacer" just felt out. For me, as a drummer, that makes sense. :) I tried it on my cheap Harley Benton, worked great.
THANK YOU for bracing the guitar in the right spot, jesus. So many times I see people restringing or intonating a guitar with a whammy and they rest it on something that sits under the 12th fret area or even the headstock, then they wonder why it sounds like shit when they pick it up and hold it in playing position.
@@weedian710 I'd recommend a bottle of food grade mineral oil, thinned with mineral spirits (Naptha for you Americans) - it's what most of these "conditioners" contain.

I hate trems, especially Floyds. Such a pain. My usa Richie Sambora has one, which I've replaced already, fitted a D-tuna, and a stabiliser. Give me a hardtail or stop bar any day.
You definitely dont have the tension set up properly if a real floyd rose gives you any trouble. I tune my guitar once per string change, fucking love my floyd.
There’s more to it than tuning stability, mat. Unison bends, tone differences, effort to change strings. Personal taste. My current guitar has a hardtail and I’m going to be replacing it with an even more solid one. Machined steel and a custom-machined, pre-intonated brass saddle. Like 200usd, but SUSTAIN in what I want for this bebeh. My next? Kahler. I have my reasons for not going with a Floyd, but there’s benefits to both systems. @@matejcevnik7362he didn’t say he had any trouble with a Floyd. He said they’re “a pain . . . Give me a hardtail or stop bar any day.” That implies he doesn’t want to put up with the added steps needed to change strings and maintain them.
Why do people cut their strings after loosening? Like surely its easier to just keep loosening then pull it through? Thats just what i find so always wondered 😂
I moved to hard tail guitars and encourage more guitarists to do so because floating trems are a huge pain in the ass and honestly I think in dire need of re design. The whole clamping thing sucks. Floating trems should use the ball end of the string, the same way a strat bridge does. it’s there for a reason. And the intonation screws are behind the string? Really? Bad design. And why should tuning 1 string make the other 5 go out? We shouldn’t have to put up with that and I refuse to believe that there is no solution to it.
Jeez, you like your fretboard oil! A dab will do, otherwise you'll only be wiping off way more excess and spend more time trying to polish up a tacky surface. Wanna cheap out? Low viscosity mineral oil (food grade, not what you put in your Harley Davidson tractor!) is the main ingredient in "specialist fretboard conditioners" and 250ml can probably be had for a lot less than the repackaged guitar stuff. The guitar stuff is probably thinned with mineral spirits (AKA naptha or white spirit s), giving it that petrochemical smell.
Am I the only one that feels like blocking the trem that way when taking all the strings off will break the bridge? I know that it won't, but I still can't bring myself to do it. It just feels like the tensions from the springs will cause something to bend. Is it different on Ibanez Edge than regular floyds?
I don't do it with something solid like a deck of cards or one of those blocker tools, I always use a stack of tissues or bubble wrap like in this video. But you could use a solid block of tungsten and it wouldn't do anything
