I just picked up the new style in medium and I look like a bobble head...going back immediately.
Previously only a SHOEI XXL would fit me BUT this new Bell XXL fits me better than my shoei open face. Great helmet for the price.
"It now sits dramatically lower on your head" - Really? I don't think so. Anything larger than S shell still looks huge, actually much larger than the older DOT version.
No Goggle strap retainer?? only on the very expensive custom 500...this seems like a major flaw..
i got the earlier version of the custom 500 as a medium and after riding for awhile i'm pretty sure i should have bought a small. but with the new sizing i'm wondering if i should buy a medium again (is the new sizing smaller?) or buy the new helmet as a small?
Please answer this: can you remove the stupid sticker from the center?? That's the only thing stopping me from buying this helmet.
The logo is under the clear coat, so it cannot be removed. Take a look at the Biltwell Bonanza for a similar helmet without the forehead logo. -DrewZilla

I just bought mine, I love it. Do you know if the 5 year duration of a helmet is from the time its made or from when some starts to use it?
For helmets with a 5-year warranty, it's generally 5 years from the date of purchase or 7 years from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first. -DrewZilla

They talk about how much lower it sits on the head, but still too big and gives you the mushroom head look. You can tell looking at the guy in the video. No thanks.

Hi i measure my head and it is 58mm, based on Bell Custom 500 size chart, I should go for M size. I checked with you once and you suggested size M. So I bought M, unfortunately it turns out to be too tight for me. I can not last 30 min wearing it, it hurts my temples and very stiff to put on. A friend of mine said that I should go for an XL because even L is still too tight ... what is your recommendation for Bell Custom 500 size? I am thinking of getting another one.
I think changing the size isn't the solution. Instead, I recommend finding a brand that has a different internal shape. I'd recommend trying the Biltwell Bonanza or AGV X70 in size medium. -DrewZilla

hey guys! just got a pair of halcyon goggles and they fit funny in my biltwell gringo, would you recommend this Bell 500 for them? and if so, does it comes with the thing on the back to secure the goggles? thanks!
I have a few bell 500 helmets and they don't have the snap on the back side. I use my Halcyon's with my Torc T-50 helmets. They are perfect man.
Hi! I'm looking to get a XXL size. Is it the same shell as the XL? Or is the last of the five shell sizes the XXL? I got a Torc 3/4 helmet a while back. Nedless to say, I looked like a bubblehead. Is this 2014 version more snug, even in XXL?

The XL and 2XL have their own shell sizes. The XS and S sizes share a shell. -Hi-Viz Brian

any idea if the new custom 500s fit the same as a Bullitt in the same size? medium Bullitt is too large for me and small custom 500 is too tight in temples
The sizing is very similar between the Custom 500 and Bullitt, so these two helmets might not be the best options. For an open-face helmet, you might consider the Biltwell Bonanza instead. -DrewZilla

My head is 24 in / 61 cm. Is XL likely the besr size or should I try L?

To find your size, you use a cloth measuring tape to measure the circumference around the crown of your head (ua-cam.com/video/WthGZejNeB0/v-deo.html). Does it say ECE 22.05 anywhere on the helmet or chin strap?
Yes, there is ECE labeling on the rear of the helmet as well as on the chin strap. However, size 2XL is not labeled. -DrewZilla
