  • Outdoor shooting review of my new Umarex Walther CP99 Co2 pellet pistol. Targets at 10 Yards, 12.5, 15 & 20 Metres using RWS Superfield 8.4 grain pellets, with the 4.52mm head size. Very gusty today and pretty cold at 6 degrees Centigrade, but she still performed very well for such a short barrelled co2 pistol. Recommended.
LMBR R2A Chronograph results (8 shot Superfield average) :-
    E/AVG 2.12 Ft/Lb , V/AVG 337 FPS , SPREAD 13 FPS

I found surprisingly that putting a silencer on my pistol it was slightly more accurate, I found it to be a pretty good pistol too plink or target shoot with.

Yea. The CP99 is a very nice pistol. One of the very first models I ever bought actually.. And nowadays I seem to have a few of them around. Surprisingly, they are nowadays not that cheap even. I think I paid 159e for my first one (as new) - and nowadays I've seen new prices go over 200e in stores..
But, yes, they can be surprisingly accurate for a pistol with sucha short barrel. And I also use RWS pellets for mine.

Nice review of a good quality co2 pistol. Well done on being one of the few to mention the de-cocking button on the top.

Great video. Wish Icould find one here (usa) without one side full of white lettering.

Good video sir! I have the exact same one 😊 got it a mont ago 👍🏼 having difficulty finding the best ammo, either they are a little big and jam often or too small and fall out if you tip the barrel over 😅 any advice? Sorry if my English is bad 😊

Most use wadcutter pellets in their CP99, Bisley Practice or RWS Hobby pellets. I use domes as I find them more accurate shooting further out from 10 Yards. Most jams are caused by the pellet skirts coming rearwards out of the magazine during shooting. As long as the pellets used are of a good quality, consistent size ( I use RWS Superfield with the 4.52mm head or Webley VMX pelllets in all my Co2 pistols) then a home made tool to pre-seat them is a good idea. I use half a wooden cocktail stick to push mine down into the magazine on a hard flat surface, which seems to work very well. Make sure your pellets don’t stick out the front of the magazine, so pointed pellets are not a good choice. By the way your English is excellent. Have fun.👍🇬🇧

Nice review. Would you say this is better than the cps? If so what are the main difference? Thank you

I think the CPS/CP Sport model's trigger is Double-Action-Only and therefore has no slide racking/cocking capability for Single-Action as this, more expensive CP99 has. And the CP99 also has a decocking button at the rear of the slide top.
The CPS can be as accurate and as good as the CP99 - but the CP99 truly has more features, which helps acquiring accuracy.

Nice video! A question for the author and everyone. I would like to buy a CO2 gun that shoots diabolo pellets. Which gun would you choose for accuracy, trigger weight, realism, and overall use? Walther CP99 or Umarex SA10? Or maybe there is another one worth considering?

If you don’t want blowback Umarex do many good 8 shot rotary pellet pistols. If your budget is around £150 then you have a choice of the standard Walther PPQ , Smith & Wesson MP45, CP99, CPS and the SA10 (the only blowback and smooth bore here). Personally from the non-blowback pistols I found the S&W MP45 very enjoyable to shoot, and accurate with the right quality pellet. Scroll through my channel as all these pistols are reviewed, plus all Umerex’s more expensive models, which are all metal.

Thank you for your advice. I didn't have time to reply because I was so absorbed by your videos. :) The more I watch and read, the more I think about more expensive pistols like the Walther CP88 and Beretta M 92 FS. Longer barrel, full metal etc. But will I really see a difference in accuracy compared to the cheaper ones mentioned...? @@reevessairgunningreviews5572

@@user-lw5eq4fs5l These Umarex Co2 pistols are not really for serious paper target shooting though they will all group inside an inch at 10 Yards if you do you bit, decent quality pellet and learn the trigger release point. The more expensive all metal models do have better triggers and more realistic weight, but when it comes to shooting them all, it’s really about trigger and pistol control. The Umarex 1911 A1 has the most energy helped by its longer barrel and it’s as accurate (if you do your bit) as the Beretta 92FS and CP88. Best to go to a dealer to handle them and try out the triggers before buying.

I see what you mean. These are not competition pistols. And that's ok, an inch groups would be totally good for me for home plinking. I can agree it's important to learn pistol control. I once wanted to throw away my Browning Buck Mark (spring pistol) with really heavy trigger pull, but after 1500 pellets I admit it's quite accurate at 7-10 meters.
