The biggest disadvantage I see for the mandalorian is the lack of living quarters. The razorcrest was a heavily armed camper van. The Mando doesnt stay in one place for long, so he kind of needs a place to sleep on his ship.

I think it’s a sign that Din’s bounty hunting days are coming to an end. This is not the ship of a bounty Hunter but the mount of the new ruler of Mandalore. Sleek, stupid fast, and deadly, those oversized nose canons are not for show.

Ship does have a very spacious, comfy-looking cockpit for a starfighter though. I could sleep in it quite nicely, I think. As for other amenities, well, I doubt Mando is above peeing into a bottle if he has to...My thought was where exactly does he put his bounty? But then I remembered the droid bay. Binders on the legs and feet and having nowhere to go but the vacuum of space should do nicely enough...

The Y-wing is a P-47 Thunderbolt, big, rugged, carries a shit load of ordinance for a fighter, has a bit more legs to it range wise, and its got a love it or hate it style (love the P-47).

Mando is learning to fight elegantly. In the his first few episodes, he had to fight smart with meh armor, but enough tricks up his sleeve to muddle through. He got his armor upgraded and fought like a medieval warrior, shrugging off attacks that would kill most people. He started to fight with brute force. Now, he's transitioning into fighting with real skill. This N1 looks like it has much larger cannons, has a shield generator that can take hits with the best of them, and enough speed to make a New Republic fighter pilot think he's jumped to lightspeed. This ship is a nice companion to the Darksaber. It is an elegant weapon from a more civilized time.

    Simplified:
Hes learning theres far more to BEING a mandalorian than armors and creeds.
Survival demands adaptability. The Watchs sect survived because of dumb luck that they were away when Gideon mass-nuked Mandalore. Tye quartermaster knows what he lacks, but doubts their teaching can bring him to it.

Though I don’t feel it’s a matter of force sensitivity, but confidence. Up to now he’s been a loner in a cult, and is now the spiritual successor to an entire culture that has to presumably take up a mantle of authority, or at the least fend off folks who would kill him for the sword (which, Bo-Katan was definitely weighing up the idea of killing him for.). His sloppy swordsmanship betrays his lack of confidence and training, both for it and the obligation he inherited.

I love the fact that he essentially built a custom hotrod starfighter for quick getaways. The pros of this starfighter was gone over when the mechanic was trying to sell him on the fighter that its transponder codes are pre-Empire so he can more easily dodge being detected and stays off the grid. I agree with everyone that this ship is not for bounty hunting when bounty's are off world so he could do all of his jobs on planet so take more local jobs until he gets a more suitable ship. Being stuck to transport ships as we have seen as a bounty hunter is extremely tedious. Hopefully Boba gifts him a bigger ship so he can continue to do jobs offworld.

At that point we were all thinking, “oh, come on, Disney… only visually suggesting brutal carnage?”, but then, moments later Mando overhead chops the boss-man clean in half like a piece of firewood, completely on camera.

It's a beautiful ship...but not a good bounty hunter ship. With this, Din can pretty much only bring in bounties "cold" unless the bounty can be squeezed into the hollowed out droid port. @@PsPmoddedOUT I don't think he's going to actually journey to Mandalore to be cleansed. I think the last couple episodes of the Book of Boba Fett will see him learning a new Way from Fett. Rather than forcing Din Djarin to choose between the Way of his little group of exiles, or the Way of Bo Katan, I think we will see him learn the wisdom of Fett, and create his own Way which will unite and restore Mandalore. We already know that he respects the Tuskens, so it makes sense that he would be open to learning their ways from Fett and incorporating the best of both worlds. I just now realized this concept thanks to your comment. Since last night, I’ve been racking my brain on what it could mean as it’s not versatile and doesn’t fit the formulaic pattern we as fans enjoy and have enjoyed for over forty years.
A large spaceship allows ample stories and adventures and mysteries. Whether the MF to the Hounds Tooth or Slave 1, the large freighters have been fascinating and had their own personalities.
As of this video, I honestly just thought he’d be a head hunter (Not Z-95) and collecting bounty’s heads as trophies since he didn’t have room. Now I can see the future possibilities. It does still limit the possibilities and makes me claustrophobic for them.
Taking cross-country trips in a C8 Corvette versus a Suburban is a lot less comfortable and adaptable. We’ll see how the arduous adventure plays out in Mando Season 3. I, for one, prefer the stories that can be told from the guts and various scenes of a modified freighter, gunship, corvette… but… I’ll leave it in JF hands. He’s been a hero to us all and a wonderful addition and influencer in the SW universe.

Now that he has the Dark Saber he needs to change tactics, he can't just get what he wants with brute strength anymore. Alright, that's fair. He takes a ton of shots in both personal and space combat. The Razor Crest was clunky, but also durable. However, he was able to maneuver Beggar's Canyon near Mos Eisley, which is considered an expert level course for pod racers during the Boonta Eve Classic. And as you mentioned, the armor's material could prove to have deflective properties, which could make his final star-fighting strategy very close to his personal combat strategy, of quick moving but well armored. Perhaps he was more mismatched with the Razor Crest, and that's why he was always crashing and being hit. I can also see the rear pod's primary purpose being to store captured bounties. It definitely locks from the outside, or a cockpit toggle.

Imagine the carnage of younglings running around with the proper version. Yeah, at that level, even Jedi would be doing what Din Djarin did a lot. The grown up Jedi made it look effortless even though one mistake could be fatal. One mistake, out of literally tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of motions with the lightsaber in their lives.
Now imagine how careful they had to be swinging their lightsabers around other Jedi, Clone Troopers and civilians. Jedi make it look easy, because they are force powered oddballs. ~10,000-11,000 or so out of hundreds of trillions or even quadrillions of beings in the galaxy.

It has drawbacks yeah, but that speed tho. I actually loved that scene because it soft confirms the long held idea that technology after the Clone Wars essentially stagnates, or even regresses a bit probably due to the Empire suppressing a bunch of it (Can't have the regular people get too individually capable), in order to explain why ships in the prequel era seemed so slick, new, and even more advanced in some ways. Ships with that kind of speed and maneuverability (souped up even more by the probably illegal modifications just done to it.) seem to be really rare if unheard of by the post og trilogy time, if both Din and the X-Wing pilots' respective reactions to it are anything to go by.
Also, even if he's wearing that helmet you can just tell that Din is grinning like a kid almost the entire time flying that thing which just makes me smile.
Maybe he'll get a bigger ship, and use the N-1 for special missions or something later. I think there's the possible idea too that the ship is so fast (and off the grid) that it can cover a lot of the known galaxy in a short time, which might minimize the amount of time he'd need to "camp out" with a ship perhaps. Semantics aside, it's a really cool looking design that I'm glad they brought back though nonetheless, and adding a bit of that used tech-jury rigged modifications look to it just enhances it. It also might be a light indicator to the audience that Din's is perhaps going to be a bit too busy to be bounty hunting with all the trouble that's probably going to fall on him sooner than later thanks to that saber he's now carrying, and with no going back now.

It doesn’t really conform that tech stagnanted it actually supports the opposite idea that people were comparing custom made top line gear to standard issue military equipment. Like when you go though and look at the tech it does increase. The Jedi fighters needed dock rings for hyperspace anything south of custom made Royal Navy of one of the richest planets needed dock rings. That they point it out shows that it was uncommon especially for the era. Now they are standard in x, a, and y, wings. Top of the line prosthetics still were just robot hands during the clone wars. Now a military ship can give you a human looking hand just fine.
This ship is a custom made muscle car (albeit a space ship) of course it is crazier then anything else out there just like custom made muscle is today.

I was going to say the same thing. Speed and handling are great, but at the end of the day, you're a bounty hunter, you need space to bring back your target(s). Hell, the cockpit barely fits Mando. The ship's very rugged hotrod design seems very fitting for a someone similar to a bounty hunter, space pirate, or smuggler just without the storage capacity, especially given its jagged edges, exposed internals, and hard steel gray color palette.
In terms of utility, it's lack of storage space and medley of weapons makes it not super useful for a bounty hunter or smuggler, but for an assassin who takes a job and really only uses a sniper rifle and vibroblades, this seems like a great ship

I mean, I understand why the modelers did it, putting any sort of nose on it would make it look too much like a P-38 Lightning rather than an homage. I assume the Soulless One was Grievous's Belbullab-22. Quality ship, and a heavy-hitter, much like Mando. Then again, he certainly doesn't have to dogfight the same way he fights on the ground.
