Akira takasaki was an absolute monster guitar player, and these guys didnt come on stage drunk, they were polished to perfection, Akira was easily one of the guitar players ever to do metal, all these years later,I still play a guitar shaped like his.
It dont matter if you come from America,Japan,Germany or Great Britan. The one thing that will always unites us...........HEAVY METAL!!!!!!!!ROCK ON!!!!!!!
I saw them in 1986, good band, didn't miss a note, 20 minute guitar solo was a bit long but I'll never forget it. The bass guitarist held a smile for the entire show.
Same here--I saw them at a place called "Paradise Lounge" in Boston, Sunday afternoon show. They kicked ass! Phenomenal show, guys were friendly too--talked with them after the show, super nice guys (I don't think they spoke much English but who cared--superb musicians and showmen). Ah, good times.
The former head chef I once worked with me a few years ago often mentioned this band whenever the two of us went out to buy ingredients for our kitchen. Gave it a try one day, and never looked back ever since. Chief, wherever you may be now, thanks for recommending me to this awesomeness.
O.M.G.!I'm a 51 year old white male American, and I remember when they hit America!me and all my friends just, listen to metal all day and all night.the 80'S ruled! But when I got the cassette tape, yes I said cassette tape, and still have it!ha!my friends were like, dude,Asian, rock?after playing it for them, they were on board! Nice trip down memory lane!good times. Oh and when I down loaded Pandora on my phone, they were on of the first to be on my list!!!! Long live the 80's heavy metal!
YES ! Heard this back then and I was immediately a fan. Thunder In The East, only killers, no fillers. Bought Lightning Strikes as soon as it came out, another album bang on. Bought Hurricane Eyes, it was nearly as good as those two mentioned. Besides those three, I have Soldiers Of Fortune with Mike Vescara on vocals and On The Prowl. That´s my full hand from Loudness, albums I still listen from time to time. Wonderful music. Minoru Niihara, Akira Takasaki, Munetaka Higuchi and Masayoshi Yamashita, The Classic line-up. Think, that I still remember their names by heart. Well. Loudness was a big thing for a young Finnish boy in the 80´s !
In 1985 I bought the Thunder in the East cassette. Since that day I have continuously owned either the cassette or CD and it is in the deck of my car as we speak. This particular song must be played at the loudest level your system will go to even if you're old and have four grandkids like me.
So Excellent! I remember when this album came out. It was solid, hard rockin metal album end to end, and introduced another new sound to the metal line up, but distinct enough to stand on it's own and kill it! And Loudness did exactly that! M! Z! A!
I remember raiding the Columbia House, RCA and BMG cassette clubs. I had all the Loudness releases because of the three mentioned above. Thunder in the East / Hurricane Eyes / Lighting Strikes.
I still remember the first time I saw Loudness. This was in March of 1981 in Osaka at a pub called Kamikaze before they hit the big time. I remember Minoru addressing a small crowd of about 20 people and saying we are going to be the first Japanese metal band to conquer the world.
Carlos Moreno I saw them with KISS, In Boston. Maybe the " Creatures of the Night " tour ( I think ) or whatever came after that ?? 82 or 83. I was completely Fucked Up, Tripping on Mescaline but I clearly remember that dude akira from Loudness can Shred like a Mutha Fucka ! Especially that Blistering Solo, he did during Heavy Chains ! I remember leaving with my ears Ringing so Bad, I thought they were gonna Fucking Bleed. lol It wasn't KISS, That was KISS and Accept. I think I saw them with CRUE. Idk ??
It was actually about nothing when they were tracking the song in the studio I needed levels, and the singer was just singing nonsense and one of the things he was singing, was MZA. It means absolutely nothing other than a tracking vocal. It was just kept in because they liked it.
This is definitely the Baddest/ Beefiest riff of the '80s...I play it all the time in my car... It takes me back to 1985 when Loudness opened for the Crue during Theater of Pain tour...Cruel was great but Loudness could have closed the show that night in Philly...
Just a wicked metal riff, supported by that consistent, supportive bass & drums. Clearly an Ozzy influence (put to awesome innovation). Instant classic. I was hooked the moment I heard this tune when it came out, and still my favorite of theirs. Thanks for posting!
What a great time in history when all of the world was getting subverted by heavy metal....from Loudness to Gorky Park and the PMRC was censoring everything. Glad to have witnessed and been a part of it.
I like the straight beat....palm muted guitar thing...excellent production...all things considered...i still find myself singing this song from time to time...
Oh boy, then look up another Japanese band named EZO, who was another import that showed up a few years later. "Nightcrawler" and "Love Junkie" are insane songs.
The album cover and name across the front got me I never regretted buying their great sound that I was not expecting took a gamble that paid off not knowing anything about them never hear them , Fuckin Awesome is all I can say!
Perfection! This band certainly understand what the meaning of heavy metal means. They sound like a purring engine that has just been tuned-up and getting ready to fire.
Most under-rated Metal band in the history of Heavy Metal!! I would say this lead guitar player could rival Eddie Van Halen,Malmsteen, Statrioni, or any other world wide!!!!
Can someone explain the “MZA” chant / visual reference? I’m only familiar with this band from Helmet’s cover of this song. Also, I like how the drummer hits that gong but there’s no sound!
Time is a limiting concept, Good times are forever man! Live now, just as you always have, or should have! ~ Remove the veil we were taught to live behind, and experience your life the way you deserve to. Forever Young! That's the meaning of Rock n Roll!
I was there 1985 Loudness opened for Motley Crue....Alpine Valley WI. They killed it!!!!!!!! Now 54 and still have the 80s hair!!!!
Yeahhhhh…keep rockin!!!!
This album is all killer, no filler. Great from start to finish. A must-have if you are a rock fan.
yup
yup
Yup yup
These guys deserve more credit. They were great.
Akira takasaki was an absolute monster guitar player, and these guys didnt come on stage drunk, they were polished to perfection, Akira was easily one of the guitar players ever to do metal, all these years later,I still play a guitar shaped like his.
The design is copied from Eddie Van Halen's Ibanez Destroyer guitar, Eddie cut out the bottom to give it that star look.
Man the 80's and 90's metal was just the best! Glad I was a teen then🤘
It dont matter if you come from America,Japan,Germany or Great Britan. The one thing that will always unites us...........HEAVY METAL!!!!!!!!ROCK ON!!!!!!!
😍

+AudiophileTubes still is
AudiophileTubes still is!
It helps when Max Norman produces the record. His track record speaks for itself (1st 2 Ozzy records, Megadeth, Lynch Mob, Savatage, etc.).
Guitar God. He is one badass guitar player. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
LOUDNESS. 4. LIFE.
They still do bro!

Always loved this song I had the album in the 1980s , still love this song even today
The former head chef I once worked with me a few years ago often mentioned this band whenever the two of us went out to buy ingredients for our kitchen. Gave it a try one day, and never looked back ever since.

I loved these guys when they first came out. Saw them in Concert, man what a great Concert!
Now that’s some great metal. Big thumbs up to guitar player! Some serious skills
One of the most powerful songs of the 80's
Saw these guys in ‘86 open for AC/DC . Great live , one of the best drum solos I’ve ever seen
2020: still love this band. I have seen some videos of "recent" performances...they sound exactly the same. Rock on!!
Great 80-ies metal song. Loudness definately rocks Old-school!! i'm a big fan!!!! Rock on dudes!!
YES ! Heard this back then and I was immediately a fan. Thunder In The East, only killers, no fillers. Bought Lightning Strikes as soon as it came out, another album bang on. That riff still kicks you right in the face. Killer riffage!
I had this on Casette as a kid, back in the day. Played the hell out of it. Rock on LOUDNESS!!!
In 1985 I bought the Thunder in the East cassette. Since that day I have continuously owned either the cassette or CD and it is in the deck of my car as we speak. This particular song must be played at the loudest level your system will go to even if you're old and have four grandkids like me.
I concur sir! I am right there with ya with 3 g-kids "me-self me-son!" ( Brian Johnson AC/DC fame) LOL!
so when you listen the neighbors do too ;)
So Excellent! I remember when this album came out. It was solid, hard rockin metal album end to end, and introduced another new sound to the metal line up, but distinct enough to stand on it's own and kill it! And Loudness did exactly that! M! Z! A!
what it means M F A ?
This is the Loudness line up I always knew back in the 80's. Metal rules forever!
I remember raiding the Columbia House, RCA and BMG cassette clubs. I had all the Loudness releases because of the three mentioned above. Thunder in the East / Hurricane Eyes / Lighting Strikes.
Will never forget the first time I heard this back in the 80’s. These guys kick ass. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loudness forever!
I still remember the first time I saw Loudness. This was in March of 1981 in Osaka at a pub called Kamikaze before they hit the big time. I remember Minoru addressing a small crowd of about 20 people and saying we are going to be the first Japanese metal band to conquer the world.

Saw them at Arlington theater Santa Barbara Ca. In around 85.
Great show
Still till this day one of the sickest metal riffs..HEY!..HEY!..HEY!...
So true :)
I saw their gig last night in Taipei, Taiwan. Speechless! They sounded just as good as in their early days.
One of the greatest band in history.. rock on
Always liked these guys, especially their first 4 studio albums and the live album all recorded in their native language. Four top notch musicians.
It is 7:45 am and i am at my office alone in Athens Greece....it is 2020 and i am back at 80's with a great band...i really enjoy it...long live metal
I always loved this song but never knew what the MZA chant was all about 😅?
It was actually about nothing when they were tracking the song in the studio I needed levels, and the singer was just singing nonsense and one of the things he was singing, was MZA. It means absolutely nothing other than a tracking vocal. It was just kept in because they liked it.

Was at that show, loudness killed it!!
Estoy cada vez más impresionado con la excelente música rock and rollera de éste gran grupo...very good !!!
Saw them in August of 1985, with Motley Crue at the Met Center.
When I was young and full of, miss those days. The sound still kicks me in the face. Shine On!!!
Oh how I wish I know the song when I was 20s..this song will move the crowd what ever stage you play..
Epic Guitar solo from the 80s..
Salute!
There's just something so hot about a man playing metal guitar! ... Love!
@Jeffry Johan I think she just meant in general
Oldie but GOODIE. Love this SONG. Kick ass jam. Love me some LOUDNESS. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

LOUDNESS held their own,baby !!!
Those guys really kicked ass when they made their debut, hard and loud!
One of the baddest ass heavy metal songs ever.
I like the straight beat....palm muted guitar thing...excellent production...all things considered...i still find myself singing this song from time to time...
I grew up listening to these guys back in the day when I was young and I can't believe I got some their songs on my phone lol

Buen remasterizado. La guitarra suena excelente. Nota pot nota!
I think Their accents made this all the better... I can't believe I am just finding out about these guys and I love metal esp Glam ...
My good friend Vinny, may he rest in peace, used to sing this song saying mok a hoy crazy nights

Control your self 😂🤣😋
Perfection! This band certainly understand what the meaning of heavy metal means. They sound like a purring engine that has just been tuned-up and getting ready to fire.
I remember these guys, had their "cassettes " ... They had an awesome sound... Are they still together?
Yes, they are, all the original band members with the exception of drummer Higuci Munetaka, and they still kick ass
Died of a cancer
Holy WHAT! Hello loudness it’s been forever!❤cool😊
I'm proud to own the Vinyl... ;-)
Most under-rated Metal band in the history of Heavy Metal!! I would say this lead guitar player could rival Eddie Van Halen,Malmsteen, Statrioni, or any other world wide!!!!
You should hear Akira's solo.... In their album 'Disillusion' or on youtube
not sure what u said but sure its good lol
It's like a karate kick 2 the head

Fantasztikus! Nagyon eltalálták!
Best metal riff of the 80s. Akira is easily one of the best guitar players in the world. He is known as Japans Eddie Van Halen. Love me some Loudness.
2020 still rocking yeahh..
What is M.Z.A meant by?
Can someone explain the “MZA” chant / visual reference? I’m only familiar with this band from Helmet’s cover of this song.
Also, I like how the drummer hits that gong but there’s no sound!
