I am sitting in my boy's jiu jitsu studio right now, watched this video a few times, and just tied their belts right!! Their belts were a hot mess before, but they're nice and snug now. Thank you!!!

-Start with the center of the belt in front of your waist.
-Wrap it around your body once until the two ends are at the front.
-Adjust the bent so the two ends are the same length at the middle of your waist.
-Cross the two ends, right over left.
-Tuck the over-end (the end that WAS right, but is now left) under the rest of the belt and pull it through.
-Tuck the under-end (the end that WAS left but now is right) in between the two layers of belt on the left side, so you make a loop.
-Pull the opposite end (the end that WAS right but is now left) through the loop, and pull the two ends to tighten the knot.

Personally I didn't thumbs down the video, but I noticed as he looped the first end in, he did not clearly demonstrate that he was flipping it OVER as well - he did it so fast that it looked like he didn't flip it at all. That could make a critical difference in the final result and the viewer may not even be able to see where they went wrong. It would look totally different and sloppy if they had not KNOWN this detail, which is very hard to spot in the video. Just a thought.

Best method I’ve found so far. You get a very secure AND flat knot. Very easy too. Some audio explaining the process would have been better. Took me a minute to realize once he gets the initial wrap around his waist and before he tucks the first end into the belt he hides the most inner part of the belt on his left side under the other layer so they lay flat on each other.

.5 speed is your friend. Couldn’t get it on regular speed. Realized I was swapping my left and right for mirroring ( a common problem for me, I over correct for the mirror and end up on the wrong side of my body again) once I corrected for those mistakes got it right away. Also certainly no knot expert but I’m pretty sure this is a Windsor knot of some variety?
