  • Join Farmer Darrell as he introduces our flock of Swiss Valais Blacknose and checks in with the flock - but how did we come to grow the genetic bloodlines of these rare sheep at Cannon Hall Farm?
It all started out with embryo transplants - and its a fascinating history on how we are trying to grow numbers of this amazing sheep.

Thanks for the wonderful insight into my favourite breed of sheep, Farmer Darrell. Brilliant way of increasing the flock by using surrogates, helps to keep the bloodlines clean and increase the numbers of a rare breed quicker. You also have my second favourite breed too, the Dutch Spotted. Keep up the great work everybody💜💜🐑🐏🐑

They pretty docile sheep so pretty easy to handle which is lucky as be really wet where I am and that's been causing foot problems. There feet are really soft so have to be careful trimming them as easy to cause a bleed. They really are a high country sheep so hilly dry pasture is best.
