I could listen to your voice all day - you have such a nice, no-frills attitude to your video producing, without resorting to overly exciting tones or crazy gestures or faces - such a beautiful contrast to many other takes on similar ideas. You seem to care much about the functional design, fitting shapes and quality execution, but still manage to work with inexpensive materials, that fit the intended purpose. Also nice to see the roundover plane in action. I like that conversion project a lot. Cheers, Micha.
bro fell in love
This is by far the best element bed design I've seen. Thank you for sharing.
I've built a table/arm rest for mine. It's in one of my videos. Cheers! #BigMacSam
The same bed n many vintage campers.
thank you!
@@BigMacSam nice looking armrest :)
@@AmyMakesStuff Thank you very much! Stay awesome!
Your voice is relaxing and your craftsmanship is executed very well . Thank you
Out of all the camper van videos I've watched, yours is the best bed design I have seen! I like your woodworking skills too, very impressive!
thank you!
@@AmyMakesStuff Did you get rid of the first bed frame you made?
I did, sorry!
Very cool
Very inspiring! I'm about to start my "build" in a Honda Pilot. I'm 62, and have been a woodworker (off & on) since high school, and if mine turns out even half as good as yours, I'll be pretty happy. Thank you for sharing this.
Ahhh that fit is so satisfying...will definitely follow this when I do a rebuild
What a superb design. Thanks for taking the time and care to make a video, explain the process, and provide the plans. This is really well thought out and I appreciated the tight fits you achieved and the rounding of the edges and corners.
Amy, you’re a freaking rockstar. Thanks so much for generously sharing this. I’ll be referencing your build for the plans on my Element!
wooo!! yes! good luck on the build!
Fantastic work, it looks great! Love watching a well planned out design come together.
AWESOME attention to detail! Great job! Thanks for sharing.
LOVE THIS! I have always loved the Honda Element. Love the bed design and may replicate to add a bed to my 1970 Chevy C10 pickup.
Excellent tutorial. Your channel deserves many more views - van builders are missing out. Not a moment wasted. Thank you.
This bed is AMAZING!! I especially enjoy the collapsing aspect, since that would allow a one of the seats to still fit. 🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏
Nice build! I like the 2-piece slide out, gives you almost an L-shaped sofa/lounger with the right cushions. Thoughtfully innovative, again; you rock.
I absolutely love your content. The things that sold me on your channel was the fact that you included your mistakes, how to fix them, and the design tweaks along the path to final assembly.
I’ll definitely use your plans on my 2005 Element, and send results. Really appreciate the attention to detail and the glimpse of your work shop, impressive small shop space ! Thanks for sharing your expertise!
looking forward to seeing your setup! yes, the little shop gets a lot of love :)
Nice work. Quality craftsmanship.
So refreshing to have a woman look and act like a professional, and not try to be cute or funny or somehow feel she has to sell her personality instead of showing how to make a product. Yahoo for you Amy!
You can compliment women without having to tear down others. There is nothing wrong with being “cute” or “funny” and it certainly does not indicate a lack of professionalism.
Well I thought she was very cute
Yah not the best comment bud
I agree, just straightforward with the facts
The young lady has some skills!!! Excellent!!
I've seen many Element camper videos and they're all great but this is by far my favorite, thank you!! 🤘💓
I'm in awe of your woodworking skills. Very well done. Thanks for sharing!
Love the details that make the sliding in easier. And keeping the slide in two sections is more practical too.
Looks like a great design and awesome execution.
it is a real kick for me to see how all the forms you made so carefully with the bendsaw are fitting like a glove. Wow! That must be really satisfying. I'm always struggling with the round and bending contours in my Kangoo, even when i'm using cardboard or paper, it always differs a few milimeters.. grrr. So I produce a lot of molds before i can make my definite element. Great work and fascinating to watch you work.
This is awesome! I love how you made the pull-out section in two pieces. Thanks for the drawings.
So kind of you to share your amazing design. Thank you 🙏😀
WOW! This young lady is Amazing! Wish I had her skills to build my own bed on my Element...!
🤔👍 I agree ‼
I didn't realise how much work and skill had gone into making the bed. The precision work and attention to detail is superb. Thanks for posting this
Super helpful. Just the right amount of detail. The turnbuckle was not something I had considered and I will definitely add it to my build. Same with the curve pieces. Thank you so much.
Amy, I'm watching all of your very interesting videos, I'm going to run out of them! Keep up the good work!
Very satisfying to watch and especially when the the slats make that clicking sound when you push them back into place.
You're such a soothing person. Thank you
This is badass, especially for someone (me) that wants to car camp but also has a toddler that must be seated in the back. Very cool, thank you!
Great set-up!!!! Can’t wait to start working on my own. Thank you so much for sharing plans. 😎🤙 Safe travels!
Very ingenious design for that bed.
Amazing woodworking skills, I'm impressed. It gave me an idea for my MitsuMontero.
妳的手工真的很棒!靈巧的設計,謝謝分享。
This is so rad! Thank you so much for sharing the plans. This is exactly what I've been wanting to make since I bought my Element, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. You're a badass crafty angel.
Good luck on the build, thanks for watching!
Appreciate your attention to detail particularly on the contour pieces. Mad carpentry skills! Keep up the great vids👍 Great inspiration for an innovation I planning.
Rounding over all the edges, really a nice job!
wow! Very nice work! That bed is awesome!
Thank you for sharing! Its helped me figure out how I want my own build to be, and a step to step is helpful 🙌
Gosh! You make it look so easy! I'm wanting to do something similar for my Honda fit. I love the simple design and the versatility of the bed/bench.
You can do it!! Also everything looks easier after editing 😆 A Honda Fit will be cozy but I love that car, my brother has one.
Cool build!! Elements have a lot of usable space !
Great job Amy, turned out really nice.
Oh, Amy! You did a yeoman's job with these plans, really outstanding. Thanks!
GorillaDesperado 🙏😊
Amazing work, very well crafted and built!
You are an amazing crafts person. I wish I had your equipment to make the bed but you have given me some ideas on how to get a bed like that even if I, as an apartment dweller, don’t have the machinery you have, You are an inspiration? Thank you,
Nice tools, I also like woodworking...I like the plans and the finish work. Yes, this is a favorite design.
Just perfect! You are a true craftswoman!
Very thoroughly planned and crafted. Well done :)
TY for sharing your design! I've just built it for my 18 4runner TRD without ripping according to plans (too lazy to use a table saw). Lost some bed width, redoing it and planning to fold bed towards the wheel well too. Again ty.
This is by far the best build/most informative video for this style of bed for the Element that I've seen. I'm returning to The States after living in Europe for a few years (where we sadly do not have any Elements) and first on my list is to buy another one. I will definitely give this build a shot when I do. Thank you so much Amy!!!
Wooo!! Happy building!
Really like how you cut pieces for the contour of the van. Nice work.
Thank you so much for sharing Amy!!!
Very nice woodworking...lots of care and attention to detail.
Nice. Very handy design and construction skills. Thank you.
Your wood working skill is excellent you are too good with proper finishing. I will be converting my TOYOTA QUALIS in to a micro camper. Thanks for sharing your work with us. God bless.
You are so smart. I admire when a woman can do stuff by herself. Keep going. Love it. I need a teacher like you.
You are absolutely the best designer.
Absolutely LOVE this and am making one myself to repay the current two box system that I have.
Wow beauty brains and skills of a master boat builder.
Beautiful work ❤
Very nice Beautiful. Gd luck on your travels and have fun. Please Be safe.
I like this design. I have a futon that folds up, but this would be more convenient, light weight and easier to operate. Excellent!
Wow!!! Absolutely fantastic! I love it!!
A real professional job. Thanks for sharing and helping.
You are who I want to be when I grow up--but since I'm 62 now, not likely. Awesome build, going to give it a try.....we'll see. LOL Thanks for the awesome video and the plans.
Yay!! You are amazing!! Very nice design!! Thank you so much for sharing.
I love all the engineering, but damn your voice is so relaxing it helps me sleep!!
Hi Amy, a big thank you for sharing this and the plans! Over on the other side of the world (in Australia), I have adapted your design for my VW Caddy and love it. I can say with certainty that it would have taken me at least double the time to figure it all out without your generously shared videos and plans!
Yay!!! That’s awesome, I’m so happy to hear that, congrats on your build!
I like the design and the quality of your wood working skill. Great to see😊
Thank you 😊
Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing all this.
This will save me some serious time. Very detailed. Thank you Amy!!!
You’re welcome! Good luck on your build!
This is bad ass, I’m so doing this to my 2004 element ASAP. It’s camping season!
Great job Amy.
May use that idea in the bed of my pickup...
Thanks
EXCELLENT VIDEO
I have been wanting to do this for years... and this year should be the year!
I have seen many other videos ... but I LOVE yours because for one thing... you have 2 different pull out... SOOOOO Smart. and you took the time to SAND all the wood.
Thank you for sharing this great video.
I’m glad you like it 😊 good luck on your build and happy camping!!!

Wow, I got to say I am very impressed with your design and the way you put it together. I'm 70 and could never do anything like this but if you don't mind I'm going to borrow your plans with hopes that I can find someone who can build this for me. I watched some of your other videos and again you are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
