  • Today I'm going to show you how to make this creamy coleslaw with plenty of crunch.
There's no need to buy a big tub of coleslaw with an annoyingly short expiration date when you can whip up a perfect sized batch of homemade coleslaw in 5 minutes.
So good as a side for summer barbecues and lazy lunches, or as a topping for pulled pork and crispy chicken burgers.
Full recipe including hints and tips here: www.kitchensan...
    Ingredients for the Coleslaw:
1/2 a large (or 1 medium) white cabbage
    2 medium carrots - peeled
    1/4 brown onion - peeled
    1 cup (240g) mayonnaise
    3 tbsp sour cream
    1 tbsp white wine vinegar
    1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar - granulated or superfine
    1/8 tsp mustard powder
    Pinch white pepper

Didn't have mustard powder, and had to sub in cracked black pepper for white, and regular vinegar for white wine vinegar. Turned out amazing! Way better than store bought. Super easy and tasty thank-you 🥰🥳

@@SubRosa..Well, in my country cabbage, carrot, onion - around 40 cents per kg. 400 gr of mayo - 1$. All those drops of other ingredients - some 20 cents per bowl. Hugs from Moscow❤

Where I'm from in the south, we make our coleslaw dressing with mayo, sugar and pickle relish along with salt and pepper to taste. Also, if the pickle relish I'm using doesn't have celery seeds already in it, I will add them to it sometimes.

So...I clicked on your video, watched it, then went straight into the kitchen and made a batch to go with dinner. It took me ten minutes instead of five because I did not have a Julian contraption so used a sharp chopping knife and cut in shreds, then chopped sideways to be smaller sizes. Carrots and onion I used a cheese shredder. It came out perfect! Thank you! 😃

I made this just now, homemade coleslaw has always been somewhat of an enigma for me, but your recipe has helped me unravel the mystery. As usual I didn't have all of the right ingredients and I used whole grain mustard instead. It still went very well though. Thank you very much for simplifying it. I'm definitely going to try more of your recipes.

Nicky is giving you the basic ingredients but if you only have or prefer a different mustard or vinegar that’s fine. I’m sure that, although the ingredients used are the norm for coleslaw, you could use red cabbage or red onion or a combination of red and white ❤

I use a potato peeler to Julian my carrots. It's a real knuckle saver. Just hold the skinny end of the carrot, then run your peeler back and forth over the carrot. Pressing only hard enough to allow you to freely move the peeler back and forth while rotating it as you wear down each side. Quick and simple.
