  • Today I'm going to show you how to make this creamy coleslaw with plenty of crunch.
There's no need to buy a big tub of coleslaw with an annoyingly short expiration date when you can whip up a perfect sized batch of homemade coleslaw in 5 minutes.
So good as a side for summer barbecues and lazy lunches, or as a topping for pulled pork and crispy chicken burgers.
Full recipe including hints and tips here: www.kitchensanctuary.com/crea...
    Ingredients for the Coleslaw:
1/2 a large (or 1 medium) white cabbage
    2 medium carrots - peeled
    1/4 brown onion - peeled
    1 cup (240g) mayonnaise
    3 tbsp sour cream
    1 tbsp white wine vinegar
    1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar - granulated or superfine
    1/8 tsp mustard powder
    Pinch white pepper

With all my respect this is just a bomb. Thumbs up! The sause is just gorgeous. Salt-sugar-acid proportions are simply amazing. Cost - 1 dollar, taste - 1 million.

Didn't have mustard powder, and had to sub in cracked black pepper for white, and regular vinegar for white wine vinegar. Turned out amazing! Way better than store bought. Super easy and tasty thank-you 🥰🥳

Hi kitchen sanctuary 👋 I've just come across your site and so glad I did. I used your coleslaw recipe tonight and but I used wholegrain mustard & lemon juice because I didn't have any sour cream or an alternative! 😋👏👏👏 I've made a batch for my daughters too ~ and saved your recipe. Thank you so much.

Where I'm from in the south, we make our coleslaw dressing with mayo, sugar and pickle relish along with salt and pepper to taste. Also, if the pickle relish I'm using doesn't have celery seeds already in it, I will add them to it sometimes.

Pressing only hard enough to allow you to freely move the peeler back and forth while rotating it as you wear down each side. Quick and simple.

@@veronicamoorman1618 I keep the red cabbage and carrots separate and soak them in water by themselves. I sought the regular cabbage after it has been shredded. I then combine everything, of course after the red cabbage and carrots are dried off with a towel or by whatever other means, then put everything together together including the seasonings, sour cream, mayo or whatever else you may use.

I never thought to use grated onion. Nice. Sometimes I use buttermilk instead of the sour cream or part of the sour cream.
