Well in all fairness, it's because bikes & bike suspension have gotten to the quality standard point of him being able to simplify it. If you had that conversation with him 10 years ago, he Could say the same things but good luck finding a shock or fork that would function successfully in all areas the way they do now.
Arrangements in current technology allow him to say it's simple. It all used to be a steaming pile of garbage

I’m on a time commitment for the pinkbike wrap up vid, it has to be done day of race. I’ve been trying to do my race day patreon vid same day but it’s just too much work and not enough time so it usually gets finished the day after.

Cathro bad form with the Jules interview, its 2019 gender doesn’t matter!
I agree that gender doesn't matter but I report on facts. There's over 200 male technicians and 2 female, I wanted to highlight that and big up Jules for being rad at the same time.
What exactly did he say wrong? He just mentioned it's a male dominated field and how she feels about it...
@@BenCathro It is super cool she's in such a male dominated industry and rocking it, but as a female in another male dominated industry (IT). I personally, always find it really condescending to be asked stuff like "how do you feel working in a male dominated industry", I much prefer being asked to showcase my knowledge. I'd have love to have seen you dig in technically with Jules the way you did with Jordi.
There was no bad form. To say gender doesn't matter in 2019 is a gross oversimplification. I think it's valid to highlight that women bike technicians are very much in the minority, and also reassuring to hear that Jules hasn't found her gender to have affected her progression in the industry. Hopefully this serves to encourage others to follow their own interests irrespective of the gender dominance in their chosen profession. I think the interview was pretty clunky but the intention behind it was clearly positive.

I do hear you though @Weeyin, it is tiring and feels condescending to always hear the same thing from people. Especially when it’s something you are actively trying to rise above (gender inequality).
