@@timangus Yes - but it is for the rider before the crash (yellow rims, black shirt, black/white helmet). The rider that crashed had black rims, red shirt and blue helmet. But it does not seem to be Sven either as by the description it was in the switchbacks woods, while the rider in the vide seems to have crashed on the straight line after the meadow.

Rode the original course in 99 on our 1st Alps trip. It was not open for riding, as only used for the world cup... Pretty knarly, especially as I hit an electric fence and wiped out... Doh...

I literally sent off for some decals from Silkgraphics yesterday!
Interesting study. Riders could use things like thicker, non locking grips or bars with taller rise (instead of headset spacers) to mitigate low frequency vibes.
was in les gets last week, they literally started building the track on the 2nd. left it quite late. hence mistakes like not cutting the trees back enough.
9 seconds in and the big lad gets a thumbs up. Think ill just gie ya the thumbs up before i watch, not been disappointed so far............and i can take it back if it the vid turns out tae be crap

So skimmed and read the conclusion of the vibration paper... And I'm just wondering what the point of the project was? To prove that vibration causes fatigue? Seems pretty obvious.. The TLDR of the conclusion: Riders experience a huge amount of vibration during enduro riding, it is unknown if there are adverse side affects.
TheCrookedWheel I think the point was to measure the vibrations and compare to a work place standard to see if it was higher than the that amount. That standard is set knowing that there are real life impacts on people who experience that level of vibration on a regular basis. The fact that EWS riders experience this level of vibration, therefore raises the question if more should be done about it.
Like so much of science it takes lots of effort to get small bits of evidence. This is just one bit of the puzzle that may help.
Causes hand arm vibration sickness, aka white knuckle syndrome. Basically nerve and blood vessel damage to your hands caused by the continuous vibration, long term bad for dexterity and sensation.
@@jackhaffenhoff1365 A quick google shows that risk for "white knuckle syndrome" occurs between 50 and 300 hz, in the study it was shown that the absolute peak vibration shown was 50hz. Vibration, imo, is a non issue and riders should be more conscious of the stress riding places on wrists and ankle tendons during impacts.
At least the study shows they are at low risk from it then
