Thanks for the great review! 👍🏼👍🏼 I used the Metcon 7 for a short time but wasn‘t happy with them. Can you please help me with the sizing? I had the Metcons and other running shoes in size 43 (US 9.5). What size do you think I should buy the Nanos? Thanks!
What training shoe doubles as the best daily wear shoe that is durable enough for some hiking? I've loved the comfort of my altra timp 4s, but the sole wore out pretty quick. I have a pair of nano 9s that I've had for years that I work out in. I've though about replacing them because of age, but they haven't worn out and still feel great. Seeing the adventure line from this video got me thinking if I love my nanos, maybe rather than the trail running shoe genre for everyday wear, maybe I should find a training shoe instead. Thoughts?
These could be an interesting option to explore for you and you can prob find them on sale! Yeah, the prob with trail shoes for daily driving is the lugs aren't always built for that type of concrete friction and volume. The Merrell Trail Glove 7s can also be an interesting option, but again, the lugs can be hit or miss.
Not necessarily, here’s my take. If you’re super specific with your deadlift work, will a flat/minimal stack height be mechanically advantageous? Yes, but here’s the nuance. For most lifters who are doing deadlifts for general strength, a bit of stack height & drop likely won’t matter that much. I’ll keep my trainers on when a deadlift is programmed in a WOD unless it’s a 3-RM or heavier, for example. If anything, you could always kick these off when you tug and put them back on but it’s not the biggest deal for most lifters, imo!
thank you for the review, im not a crossfitter but I go to the gym 5-6 days a week. i dont lift heavy anymore. I just need a shoe with enough stability, especially in the mid section because my anckles and feet are pretty weak and I walk inwards if that makes sense. ( sorry im not from the US so not really sure how you would call It). So basically I just need a shoe with enough stability to do light squats and deadlifts and such, but also enough flexibility to do some sled training and some short runs. I ordered the metcon 9, the naxno x3 and the nano x3 adventure. they are all around 85 bucks now over here. They're okay - I always language them as being good for some chill/moderate trails. Would not be a model I'd bomb tough trails in or use for longer bouts due to the midsole density/feel
Do you know if the regular Nano X3 works fine on hard pack dirt and fine gravel? I’m thinking of something like a college campus with flat/easy dirt trails around it.
